🇳🇱 NED vs. 🇹🇷 TUR - Highlights | Week 1 | Women's VNL 2024

It is Netherlands in the change strip of blue with orange trim to start with. Turquie receiving in the white jerseys with the red shorts. And Sarah van Alen the setter with the first service. Karakurt with the first swing and Turquie with the first point. As when the game finished there was silence. Here is Karakurt van Alen with her first set of the match. It's only a tip though and Netherlands can't afford to be passive. Verge with the set, good block, great pick up. Superb from Aydin and Vargas. Drops that on the three meter line. 2-0, Karakurt serves, picked up by Bausch. Plak and then Karakurt's there, backcourt, good first touch. Great set, good swing but Netherlands defending well. Oh the block is huge. Zera Gunes into the starting lineup and immediately making an impact. It's exactly what you want. That's why she's there, she didn't play the first game. But look at that, I mean look at that, she's gone. Three meters 13, that spike height. Oh now she's blocking too. Vargas, absolutely huge from Melissa Vargas. Caesars coming to Jasper, big height. The boos of a Sarah van Alen. Karakurt overpasses. Karakurt makes up for the bad pass with a monster on Plak. Oh my days. Might not be able to pass but then that's okay. Sorry everyone, I got this. Oh brutal. First set then for Dijkma and a good angle from Anne Bausch. She's a great player, Bausch. MVP and the best scorer in the Webzer tournament earlier this season. Karakurt receives all the way across the net, an amazing step. Oh my goodness me, Origi. Kuba has come on to serve. Vargas gets down nicely. Karakurt for the point, of course she gets it. Vargas to serve, oh it's heavy. Bausch, Vargas the first receiver. Karakurt from backcourt. Oh and Jasper does very well indeed. Karakurt again, double pipe. Second ace of the match for Karakurt. Oh it's overpassed. And they don't let the chance slip. It's just too powerful. It's keep it to the three meter line. Give yourself a chance of a swing. This match, 14-9, second set. Rezink in two, Van Alen on the block. Thrown to midcourt, Origi, Vargas. Two steps, a little sidestep adjustment. Bausch, Karakurt receives and receives well. And Vargas from backcourt. They can't have a mismatch and the way it's going, he probably won't have to. Backbash watching on. I think he's been at every game so far. Yes he is, he's a big volleyball fan as well as a fantastic coach. Karakurt, Vargas. When in doubt, set it there. All they need here, try and pinch something. Give themselves a chance. And they might have a chance. Van Alen sets, Bausch swings, set point Netherlands. 24-23, set point Netherlands. Karakurt has overpassed and he's still alive. Free ball, big chance for Netherlands. Van Alen sets, the swing is done. Free ball, Van Alen goes again. Bausch to win it and Netherlands are level. What a ridiculously good point. Incredible defense and finished off by Boum Boum Bausch. Started now. This is some rally. And a really nice set point. Indie Bayern, six points. Puts out Urge, Karakurt. Cross court and Jaspers there. Swing on this as well, Jasper. Oh, well done, Plac. So Bausch from deep. That's a great winner. Lovely footwork. The same footwork that we saw from Vargas earlier in the last set. Bayern, good serve for Urge. Does so well and Vargas does not miss. Done with that yesterday when they were crawling on each other on the floor. But look at that, it's a free path for Vargas to come in then and have the swing. Jasper, nice pass from her. No room for her to swing. The same cannot be said of Melissa Vargas. When Vargas is in the mood. Sahin serves. Van Alen over to Jasper. Good support by Bausch and a massive block. It's the same two again. Oh, is it Ebro, Karakurt or Jürgen Klinsmann? Big future. High on Urge. So Karakurt with some rescuing to do. She finds a way. She certainly did. It was a serve that came and you go back then you really struggle. So very good play and a great rescue as you mentioned from Karakurt. Touch from Vargas. That's a good touch from Vargas as well. Karakurt has come back on for Eichat. Bausch serves. Karakurt. Oh, the block goes down. It's a three-point lead. Is it happening again? Good service but what a pass. And Güneş, the most composed person in the building. Van Alen serving to stay in the set. Almost touched by Aydin. Karakurt. Turkey a lead. Oh, they had to work hard for that in the end. They were cruising at 18-12. Lavellin stood deep for this one. It's Karakurt serving. What do they think? Oh, what a set. And the tip pretty good too but Ödegay equal to it. Pipe attack. Block goes up. Güneş makes it. Karakurt. What a start from a service line for her. She threw the kitchen sink at that. Good commitment. Good touch by Plack. And then Ödegay. Karakurt. Backcourt but back come Netherlands. Timmerman with the block. Karakurt. Oh, that has stung the palms. But how good from Jasper. Vargas. Watch the defenders. Certainly, Jasper's like, no. That's how it has to go out. Very well known in Turkey for a time of Vakifank, of course. Oh, that's nicely done. Timmerman to find the space and put the ball in. No Kirsten Knipp near the libero either. Vargas is blocked. And blocked massive by Timmerman. Two-point game again. Karakurt. Rezink and Van Allen. Opts for the pipe and Güneş says no. It's hitting. Alina Timmerman. Oh, clean as a whistle from Ilkin Aydin. Vargas. Oh, it's clipped the net and dropped for an ace. Now, it's Pambuk Sverin. He is flat-footed there. Boots of concrete from Maring. To put one on Plac who's kind of making out like she's going to pass but won't. Vargas for the match. Into Maring who does get off the mark. Saves the first match point. Match point. Plac to serve it. And a chance for Netherlands to save another. Maring. Misses wide. And Turkey are off the mark in the Volleyball Nations League.
