There is something called you need to defend in football.
Don't do it.
If you have a ten plus one, you can get by.
It's two guys not defending, you're going nowhere.
So, I mean, obviously, we're talking about Kylian Mbappe now
pulling on that Real Madrid shirt, something that we saw Jude Bellingham
do last season in his debut season for Real Madrid.
Both young men with huge expectations.
The shirt itself, we always talk about how heavy the weight of that Real Madrid shirt.
How how real is that?
How much do you feel it?
I mean, I think the moment you step onto the Bernabeu, you feel it.
Or the Nou Camp, you feel it.
You know, it's the same weight as what Thierry probably felt
when he went to Barcelona as well.
You know, there's huge expectations at both of those clubs.
So, you know, you see someone like Jude arrive at such a young age
and perform the way he's performed.
But yes, he was always going to perform on the pitch.
But I think what he's done off the pitch and how he's adapted with the fans
and how he's worked, I think that's the biggest thing with with Real Madrid players.
You have the workers and you have the superstars.
You know, Jude is a superstar, but he's prepared to work as well.
And I think his first season was was incredible.
And it'll be interesting when he comes back after his injury,
you know, how he adapts to this new this new team as well.
Good is not enough in a team like Real Madrid and Barcelona.
I'll give you a story.
When I arrived at Barcelona, second year, obviously, Pep arrived.
We're top of the league.
The front three is me on the left, Eto'o in the middle, Messi on the right.
We're six points ahead.
Everyone is scoring, me a bit less at that moment.
I'm in a mixed zone.
I walk past the press, you know, walking big, you know, we're winning.
The guy stops me and goes like, Thierry, what's wrong with you?
And he was like, you are not playing well.
You are not scoring. What's wrong with you?
Like they challenge you every single minute.
Good is not enough.
You have to be amazing when you play for this team.
How do you deal with that then, as top players?
You two play for the top team.
Why don't you start to score a bit more and run and play better and be good every single time?
You must have a different mindset, because a lot of players have got ability.
Haven't they? But then to stay at the top for that long must be mindset.
Must be different.
Yes. Yes.
I mean, Becks did it so many times in so many teams.
I moved from Arsenal.
I had to do it also when I arrived.
But when I went to I mentioned it here one time,
when you arrive somewhere and you haven't done anything,
shut up and you work regardless of what you've done before.
Unlike Greta. Sorry.
But I had to put that...
You might need to...
You put that in.
I saw that.
You put that in.
How disrespectful was that?
Wow.
Thank you. You see, he went, wow, wow.
T-T-T-T-T-T-T-T-T-Laker.
T-Laker. He's already... He's in the taxi to ESPN.
I'm not sure anyone should place Thierry.
I don't know.
I'm just saying when you arrive at a place like Barcelona and you look,
you have Eto'o over there and you have Messi over there and you have whoever,
you shut up and you work.
So that's how you deal with it.
And by the way, it's good because they keep you on your toes.
The press keep you on your toes.
Everybody, they come and... I don't know if you had that.
They come and ring on your door.
If you don't play well, one in the morning and you kind of go down.
They're like, what happened tonight?
And we're like, we lost.
You should play better and they leave.
The fans. It's not an easy one.
Can I ask you, David, was Madrid different to Manchester in terms of...
It was because I grew up in Manchester.
So as big as United was, that was my team.
You know, and I thought it's the biggest and best club in the world.
But then you arrive somewhere like Manchester United,
you arrive somewhere like Real Madrid and all of a sudden there's a different feeling.
You know, I must admit when we played Real Madrid in the Champions League at Old Trafford
and I wasn't playing in that game, I'd been dropped for the game.
I waited in the tunnel to watch the Real Madrid players walk off the bus
because there's something about that club that it's special.
And I'm not saying that United doesn't have it because they do have it.
But I was used to playing at Manchester United.
Now I go to Real Madrid and I'm playing with Zizou.
I'm playing with Roberto Carlos, Raul, Ronaldo, all of these great players.
And I feel like I really have to get my game together.
So it's a different feeling.
Wow.
Let's talk about one of the other fixtures that we've got coming up today.
If you remember last season Bayern Munich, they went trophy-less for the first time since 2011.
Harry Kane, Jamal Musiala and Bayern have now won their first four games of the season.
They're going to want to make that five tonight.
You've got the new head coach in place, Vincent Kompany,
who knows that winning is absolutely everything in Bavaria and at that football club Bayern Munich.
Can we talk about Harry Kane for a minute?
Because obviously he went there with the intention and the hope that Bayern Munich are a title-winning team.
He would finally get over that line and win a big trophy.
He scored a hat-trick for Bayern at the weekend.
He got his 100th cap for England last week.
Just how valuable do you think he is to that Bayern Munich side?
I mean, Harry's valuable on every level.
And he has been for many years now.
He's a proven goalscorer for his country and for every team that he's played for.
Obviously what he achieved as an England captain has been amazing.
And to see him win his 100th cap at Wembley was a very special moment.
Luckily, I know how that felt, being able to play 100 games for England
and also celebrate like he did at Wembley.
But he's gone to Germany.
He had a good goalscoring season last year.
Harry's a top player.
He's a top person, top player, but he's going to want to win something.
David, I want to ask you a question.
On this show, we're desperate to get an Emmy.
We're not getting an Emmy by saying we're desperate to get an Emmy.
God, we've tried.
We must be paying you some dough to try and get us one.
But you've got the experience.
You've got an Emmy.
That's why he's here, that's why he's with us.
Have you got any advice for us, any tips that can get us across the line?
In all honesty, keep doing what you're doing.
Because honestly, you guys are unbelievable.
You're right, it might not be enough.
But to be honest, I'm very proud of our team with what we achieved with winning the Emmy.
It's not right we haven't got one, is it?
No.
Did you expect to win an Emmy?
No, of course not.
Did you make a speech? Did you accept it?
It was my son's birthday that weekend.
So the team went over and accepted the Emmy.
Well, we didn't know we were going to win.
So they went over hoping that we were nominated for five.
And we ended up winning the big one, which was special.
So the team went over and got it.
I mean, if we were nominated, we would all be there, ready.
Would you come with us?
Of course.
He's proud of the team.
Yeah, of course, I'd like another one.
Cool.
You good, Micah?
Micah, I've never seen you.
He's sitting straight, he's trying to copy.
I'm in awe, I'm starstruck.
Is it the hair, is it the suit?
It's everything.
It smells good, it looks good.
You've been looking at him trying to do what he's doing.
I'm looking at his style.
The suit is fresh.
Oh, my gosh.
What a guy.
We've met weird people.
Let's get all this hooking around as we go to the break, OK?
Take us to the break.
I was going to say it like that.
Look at this.
Heaven 2, look at this.
Heaven 2, the show.
Thank you.
We appreciate the gifts as well.
Best friends.
All right, we're going to go to a break, everyone.
We'll be right back.
Oh, this guy.
Seriously.
