Героите са особен тип хора. Те се появяват в трудни времена и вършат това, което никой друг не иска да свърши, а трябва да бъде свършено. Има ли съвременни герои в България и ще успеят ли да довършат своето дело?

How to preserve the archaeological monuments?
Should the remains of fortresses, temples, cities be preserved in place
to influence the viewer with their authenticity
or to be reconstructed and to shine with all its past beauty?
What materials are used for the reconstruction?
Do they have anything in common with the historical time of the real fortress?
This is another topic.
30 km from Varna, some people decided to go for the third time
to show reconstructions close to reality,
but in a place without archaeological value.
What is it? History or botaphoria?
Or is there a way to combine things?
or, as the organizers call it,
the historical attraction with an educational and entertaining purpose
is a massive stone building in the form of a fortress
from the Second Bulgarian Kingdom.
In fact, it is a hall for exhibitions and presentations
and there, on the day of the discovery,
a person could get lost among the replicas of the Thracian treasure,
the figures of the rulers and many paintings
with themes from the Bulgarian history.
People with different professions worked on them.
First, there is a person who pre-made the sketch,
then there is a sculptor with whom you talk about every detail.
Yes, this is some kind of artistic interpretation
of something made in time,
but we try to get as close as possible
to what the people of those times looked like.
Weapons, clothes, shoes, everything.
To a large extent, the weapons are restored.
For me, as an artist,
it is very easy to look at a person,
your brother, your type,
and to interpret him in the painting after that.
So we won with our professionalism,
with our Bulgarianness.
They are real people.
It is not difficult for me to follow them.
I am ready to do what I have to do.
I don't know, feel it and see it.
He doesn't speak only with his mind,
he speaks from his heart.
It is easy to perceive a person,
but you perceive him on a different level.
You don't perceive him,
but this is the business,
these are the shoes,
these are all the letters you hear in it.
So, you see, everything is made
to the smallest detail.
The stone, the marble, the metal.
Most visitors like the idea
of a place to present
the cultural and historical heritage
of the Bulgarian winters.
Do you tell about your friend and acquaintance?
Yes, about my friend,
who came from the Czech Republic
specifically to discover the historical park.
Right here, this part
fascinated me the most.
This part, which is in the hall,
Certainly, I myself want to bring
Czech tourists.
I work on the matter.
This is an object from which
Bulgaria has an incredible need
and arises in a size
in which it really satisfies
extremely many
underlying needs
of Bulgaria.
Not only tourists,
but also as an impact
on the self-awareness
of Bulgarians.
Not only as a historical project,
I think he could help
for the revival of the area,
to create some jobs,
to popularize Bulgaria
in the world.
It makes sense.
Authenticity is impressive.
Here, when we enter
the bridge itself,
which is made of authentic materials,
authentic covers,
just...
Is there some kind of attraction
to the people?
Quite natural, quite real.
Here you will not see plasterboard
or other modern materials.
The devil is in the details
and therefore everything must be
like in the epoch from which it comes.
When we talked to the historians,
with our consultants,
Prof. Margarita Vaklinova,
Prof. Kvitkovachev,
Prof. Ivan Maratov and many others,
who are part of their team,
they insist on this.
The real excavations should not be overbuilt,
but only to be excavated and preserved.
Because every overbuilding
is the sight of the past
of today's generations.
Our park is a historical object,
because what the future generations
will see is our vision
of the past of today.
The organizers say
that this will be the largest
historical attraction in the world.
Mostly because it covers
a huge time range,
including the era of the oldest
processed gold in the world,
part of the famous Varna culture.
This building behind us
is from that time,
from the region that is close
to the Black Sea,
and the way they built it
is not exactly
a residential area.
This is a residential area
built on low grids,
and we have archaeological data
that they used it
in wet regions
to protect themselves
from moisture.
Or when they located
a direct proximity
to a water source.
Varna necropolis
is a residential area
for the people
who lived here.
We built it
as you can see
from the trees.
It is covered
with clay,
covered with
straw,
the roof is made of straw.
This is characteristic.
Now there is a type
that is not built yet.
These are half-landings.
We will do
the second stage work here.
There
it will be
even better
because in winter
it is very warm,
and in summer it is very cold.
Each residential area
differs from the others,
but it is not inventive
and does not fall into falsification
because we did not
prepare the data
to make it look different.
We did it
to show the diversity
of the culture of these people
in our country.
Because from the beginning
of the Neolithic
to the end of the Caucasus
these are the same people
and the same culture
that develops.
But there are differences
in different regions
and this is an attempt
to show the educational purpose
of the people and to see
this cultural wealth
in our country.
The walk in the past continues.
Behind us you see
part of the exhibition
dedicated to the Thracian
habits and culture in the complex
and more specifically
a palace.
We have a Thracian palace
which was recreated
based on the findings
of different archaeological sites.
The main emphasis is
on the palace of Seftopolis.
Today the building
is located at the bottom
of the lake
under about 40 meters of water.
The building is perfectly
researched and documented.
All valuable exhibits
are in various archaeological
and historical museums.
Based on this knowledge
we tried to reconstruct
a Thracian palace
with exterior and interior
including some activities
and attractions
that are accessible to the public.
In other words
the goal is to use the knowledge
accumulated in the minds of scientists
and to make it accessible
to the public.
Unfortunately we cannot build it
in the original way
that our ancestors did
because we already have laws
different from theirs
and to be put into operation
such a large object
must comply with the norms and requirements.
So we keep the norms and requirements
and the law and we try to imitate it
as accurately as possible
to get closer
in the most authentic and original way
to the truth.
Wait, the curtain has arrived.
We have been waiting for three months
with excitement and excitement.
We are taking 35 people
on purpose.
What are your impressions so far?
The impression is that it has started,
it is wonderful,
there is still a lot of work to be done.
Do you think that this place
will become very attractive
for Bulgarian and foreign tourists?
I am convinced that it will be
one of the most beautiful attractions.
The most important thing is the feeling
that we know our belonging,
our nation,
the length of what we are.
And this is a very big reason for pride.
We see a lot of replicas
of places where we have been
and we explain to the children.
It is definitely interesting
because it is gathered in one place.
I can say that I was skeptical
like some people,
but what has been done so far
impressed me a lot.
I am very satisfied with everything
that has been done so far.
I hope they continue
to achieve the goals
of the investors
and the executive director.
Today I met him by chance.
We made a lot of good impressions.
My statement
and discovering the park,
I liked everything.
I was impressed by the first scale,
of course, of the second,
the organization, so many people,
the quality of everything
that I see at the moment
is just unique in my opinion.
A person deserves to come
and see this place.
It is really very impressive.
Would you recommend
your friends to visit this place?
Yes, I will do exactly that
and I will gladly recommend
them to come and see this unique place.
The historic Krajvarna Park
is a member of the Global Archaeological Museum
of Discovery
and Experimental Archaeology EXARC.
That is why it is necessary
to find a balance
between the real archaeological objects
and their reconstruction.
What we have seen so far
is the neolithic and chalcolithic settlement
that has been done very well
and will be very useful
for the education of the young visitors.
The use of the archaeological museums
of Discovery is very large
because it is an easy and understandable way
for the young public
to learn about the past.
If you take the children
to the classical museum
and show them the original artefacts
and then bring them to the place
so that they can see and touch them,
they will 100% understand
the meaning of what has been shown.
So far, about 50 million levs
have been invested in the construction
by Bulgarian investors
without subsidies from the state
and European programs.
The idea is for the Bulgarians
to feel proud of their history
and for the tourists
to discover another way
to get to know Bulgaria.
We should use what our ancestors have created,
namely that they left us a great culture
that we should use
to have foreign income in Bulgaria.
Because at the moment
each country needs
fresh capital, fresh income
and tourism is a gateway
that Bulgaria can use
to improve the quality
of life of all Bulgarians.
The preparation of the project
lasted 9 years,
during which marketing and research
I brought people who are
among the best tourists,
who love to travel.
I saw what they like in the world
and here we have created
a gathering place
where a tourist will be able
to experience everything
he is looking for in cultural tourism.
We always have to
make the product first
and then they will come
because everyone is so used
to go and see where someone
made it, someone invited him.
The way we invite them,
such tourists will come.
Today's Tatarstan was visited
by guests from Volga Bulgaria.
We came from Tatarstan, the city of Kazan.
Historically it happened
that we are brother nations
Volga Bulgaria and modern Bulgaria
united by the centuries-old history.
Here we are to present
our wonderful tradition
and it is wonderful that Tatarstan
and Bulgaria come together
and remember the common past.
We present here a conceptual
Tatar animation that helps
children from an early age
to be inspired by the culture
and to develop different skills.
Thank you very much for the invitation
of the organizers.
A very large-scale and interesting project
and we show it
our national dishes.
Bulgarian masters
already master the recipes
from the old Volga Bulgaria
and I can offer you delicious pies
made by hand.
All the dishes prepared here
meet the requirements for authenticity.
The menu that we present
to our guests in the historical park
is made entirely of authentic recipes
for the base
they serve
as artifacts
that archaeologists
have found
and old books
in which
culinary recipes are included.
One of these books
is the book of Slavejkov
which turns out to be the first
cooking book.
We worked in cooperation
with the Ethnographic Museum
in Varna.
There we also draw material
for what
people have eaten
in our territories
near the city of Varna.
The main
accent
in the menu
is the lamb as a product.
We included it
in different forms.
The pies you see
one is a pie with lamb
and turkey
and the other is with chicken and rosemary.
We know that the Thracians
were cattle breeders
and they looked after sheep.
That is why
we included it in the menu.
On this plateau
you can also see
Bivoli milk
which is of Bulgarian origin.
We work
with small farmers.
The historical park
has already been presented
at many international exhibitions
in Romania, Serbia, China,
Azerbaijan, Tatarstan and France
and manages to be liked
by foreigners.
What worries them the most
is that they can first experience history
and not just pass through
attractions and see certain things
but also the concept of a historical park
to participate and each person
to be a hero in the film.
The Thracian guards guard
One of our fighters tells us
about the well-known weapon
of the Greek race of the Bessines
the Rumpheia.
This weapon is unique
both in form and the way it was used.
The Bessines have used it
all over the world
because a large group of them
participated in the army
of Alexander the Great
when he conquered the world.
The Greek and Roman authors
pointed out that their soldiers
were afraid to go into battle
with Thracians who were
carrying this weapon.
This is something unique
because we know that they usually
neglect foreign armies
for the sake of their own.
In Bulgaria, 15 or 16 such islands
Their condition
was not very good.
The shields were missing
because they were wooden
and they were rotten.
But in some of the copies
of the Rumpheia
before they took it out
the finger
outlined very well
what the shape looked like.
A cast was made
and this is how the shield
looked in principle.
The restoration masters
tell more interesting facts.
The shield symbolizes
one life and another life.
The shield is a kind of crab
between the two lives
and the Thracians had this feeling
of passing through.
They always live in this world
and they pass freely
in one or the other.
Did they believe in reincarnation?
Did they believe that they could
pass through other worlds?
Now comes the moment
of a special ritual.
I am Angelot
and I am the local king.
This is my throne hall
and in this throne hall
various rituals are performed.
One of them is
the ritual of fraternization
with another Thracian king
so that we can join
in future projects.
Such fraternization
is carried out
by drinking wine
from these objects.
This is a vial,
this is an amphora.
They are made of gold
because for the Thracians
gold is related
to the sun,
one of the gods
of the Thracians.
The Thracians believe
that when the wine
passes through the golden amphora
it is charged with
divine energy.
When this ritual
starts,
after performing
some of the sacred
rituals,
it is time to drink wine.
When the wine is poured
the wine is mixed with honey
and the two kings
join their hands
and drink a little blood
to become blood brothers
because such a friendship
such a blood brotherhood
is much stronger
than the Thracian bond.
In 2022
in the historical park
there will be an icon base
with a hippodrome
in which 100 performances
are planned annually.
But here and now
you can meet a woman
more famous in the world
than here.
Nina Jankova is a master
in horse archery.
In the millennium
the connection of the Bulgarian icon
and the Thracian bond
has existed for a long time.
We are trying to restore
the lost traditions
in the historical park.
I have been here for a month
and I realize
that the children
do not have
so much opportunity
to get in touch
with this beautiful animal
that has played a role
in almost the whole
unknown history.
When I was 10 years old
I met horses for the first time
and I did not separate from them.
I have been practicing
horse archery
in Bulgaria
with jumping over obstacles
for about 20 years
after which I saw a chance
to use the Bulgarian bow
and again
my favorite animal
and to participate in other competitions
such as
horse archery
which is held in many countries
that have traditions
like ours, the Bulgarians.
But unfortunately
so far I have participated
only abroad
and now the historical park
will give a chance
to hold such competitions
in Bulgaria
which we do very happily
to prepare Bulgarians
to exercise this sport.
What makes people
to participate in the construction
of the historical park?
The pure passion for archery
is that we are interested
in these people,
we read about them,
we go to excavations,
we study them,
but the opportunity
to raise the whole jury
which we think
they have used
in the way
they have done it
and to share
the knowledge we have seen
and read about
this is a unique experience
for everyone who wants
to study archaeology
and especially history.
I have always been a part
of the history of art
and of humanity
because since the 8th grade
I have a high education in art
and there I started
to study historical art
from prehistory
to today,
from Impressionism
to contemporary art.
So in the end
there is no way
not to be attracted
and to be interested
in everything that has happened
and in the end
art is what moves
civilization and the world
From the discovery
of the historical park
to the present,
we work on very small details
that give the final look
of the object.
We merge everything we do
with the next stage
of the park
so that we can get
a complete final look.
We wanted the whole project
to be independent
but not to burden
the people who live in the area
because we don't need
a lot of water for swimming,
for lakes, for all the things we do
and this would make it
so that we take from people
or from drinking water.
That's why we built a pool
which is 560 meters below
and from there we extract water
with which all the needs of the park
are used.
We also made the most modern
irrigation station
from which all that is
from the historical park
comes out absolutely clean water
which is transparent
and in this way we take care
of the nature.
Ivelin Mihailov is not surprised
by the critics that the project
is not finished yet
or that there may be
something wrong in its financing.
In fact, the prosecutor's office
will investigate the historical park
according to the signal of volunteers
who have repeatedly
proved with their statements
that the things they claim are not true.
For this reason, the prosecutor's office
has come to a good conclusion
that the work should be done,
every single signal should be checked
but what they will find
is something they will like
and not something they will find
negative or compromising.
Every visitor will find something
for themselves in this walk
This can make the Bulgarians
to upgrade their knowledge
about the history.
When they come and see
they already have an interest
to learn dates, events, names
and gradually these people
start to look for more professional
opinions, start to read a lot of books
about it, start to visit museums
in Bulgaria and there is an upgrade.
In fact, we send them again
and we hope to become
10 times more knowledgeable.
The night adventure games
The idea of the tourists
is not just to come to a museum
to see some artifacts
but to immerse themselves
in some historical atmosphere.
They play these games first
as there is a series of riddles
and missions they have to complete.
Like all these riddles
and tasks
they are made of a story,
so the players
should not just
touch them
but to experience them.
All over the world
the interest to such attractions is growing.
Maybe because people prefer
to see, to touch and to participate.
In addition, the interest
to the real history is aroused.
Here we see the restoration
of the palace of the First Kingdom.
But it is close to a step,
so when people see
the restored palace
and can imagine
what it looked like
they will definitely
go and touch
the energy of the original stone
on which our kings walked.
There is a tremendous potential
to be not only
an educational center
but also a cultural center.
With such a project
freshness of all findings
will come to life
and it will be more visible
how these people lived.
Of course,
according to the voice
and vision of the specialists.
For some things
there is a question
of point of view.
This is inevitable.
But some things are absolutely positive.
It will be like a small town
that diverges with the eras.
There will be people
dressed in authentic clothes.
It's not...
You know,
if you bring a child here
at the moment
you know,
Halloween,
Jingle Bells in the malls,
Disney or something.
These are the things
that will change.
This is what we are doing.
Of course, if we don't believe,
we shouldn't do it.
With time these things
will become better.
They will look more authentic
and after 10 years
it will be great.
I see it as a movie
that is played in front of your eyes
and every person is a part of it.
You can write it yourself.
You can start writing a sentence
and you can finish it
with your friends.
Everyone can add something
from himself.
We are not only thinking about
the digital world
and what makes us think
only in the computer.
We are immersed in another world
that is not real.
All these things
will make the whole place
a magical Bulgarian place.
When a person enters it
miracles happen around him
and mostly internal emotions.
Will the organizers of this
historical attraction
make the Bulgarians
to feel the greatness
of the history
and the foreigners
to see a different
Bulgaria?
If this adventure
will be included
in the tourist visit
it will surely add
new directions
in the development
of cultural tourism.
