That's a star right there. Come on. That's a stud. Welcome back to the show.
What's up guys? Good to see you. Good to be back.
Thank you for doing the show. I appreciate it.
And thanks for going down to FAO Sports.
Did that feel great or what?
It was so much fun.
And I always like to say stuff like that is the best part of fame.
Because you get to go and you get to have fun.
And then at the end it's like, alright, everyone get your toys.
Because it's Antoinette Claus. Let's go to the register.
But I mean, I will also say it's fun to be standing behind you and next to you
and watch everyone's face.
Because it's honestly a feeling that I hope that you do appreciate.
But I'm watching these kids, their faces just melt.
They're just like, oh my God.
You're a superhero. You're larger than life.
It's the coolest thing that you do that and always give back
and always do something for the people.
It's awesome.
It felt great.
Never gets old and never stops being grateful for it.
And it's awesome.
What is Acorn, by the way?
So Acorn is a financial tech company.
So I bought everyone's gifts today with my new Acorn Mighty Oak card.
It's a financial tech company that I invested in a couple of years ago.
And after the investment, we started thinking about ways,
well, what can we do for the people, the consumers,
that we could maybe create a debit card.
Because usually debit cards are created for spending.
In this case, of the highest APYs out there, 3% for checking,
5% for emergency fund.
And I wish back in my seven bucks days when I had seven bucks
that I had a card like this.
So I'm excited about it.
It drops tonight for all of you guys.
Oh, and one more thing.
I think this is really cool.
It's a fun part of what we like to do.
So since I started with seven bucks,
you look at it like it's like seven golden tickets.
So everybody who signs up for an Acorns Mighty Oak debit card,
seven of you, maybe one of you guys, maybe more,
will win $50,000.
Yes.
It's awesome.
It's awesome, man.
I think it's fun.
That's the best, right?
Yes, it's the best.
I know in light of the recent wildfires in Maui,
you and Oprah started the People's Fund of Maui.
Yes.
And how has the fund been able to help those affected by the fire?
Well, the fund has been really incredible,
and I thank you guys for your love and your prayers.
As we all know, the devastating fires of Maui,
they were the worst fires that hit U.S. soil in 100 years.
And so it was heartbreaking, devastating for the people of Maui.
These are my people.
My Polynesian people are American people.
So we wound up starting the fund, standing it up on its feet.
We have a lot of corporate support, too, as well.
I just want to take a moment just to shout out the Bob Woodruff Foundation,
shout out PayPal stepped up in a big way,
our friends at Ancestry, all of you guys.
So I just want to say thank you.
I've got to tell you, the most gratifying thing about this
is stepping in in this moment,
and now for months we've been able to help out over 8,000 survivors.
So it's really, really beautiful.
You've got to step up when we're hurting, you know, and you're there.
Yeah, when we're hurting, we've got to step up.
We've got to help each other.
I saw you made news.
I don't know if you heard about this.
But you mentioned on a podcast that you were approached by a party
to maybe run for president, run for office.
How does that feel, by the way, when that happens?
It's crazy, and it's wild.
This run for president talk has kind of been in the ether
for the past couple of years, and it never stops being surreal.
It was incredible.
They came from D.C.
We sat down.
The poll was something like almost 50% of Americans
would support me running for president.
It was just crazy.
And by the way, thank you.
Woo!
But it's like, dude, we've talked about this.
It's like not too long ago, you know, years ago,
I was wrestling in flea markets for $40 per match,
hoping that, hey, I just want a free corndog at the end of the night.
And now here we are years later.
I'm sitting with you, and this talk has come up,
and it's real, and I'm so grateful.
So if you are of the almost 50%, I thank you.
Tequila on me, by the way.
I appreciate it.
Would this be something that you would ever consider?
I think down the road, for sure.
I've said this before.
I'm a proud girl dad.
I have a 22-year-old, I have a 7, and I have a 5.
So they're all age ranges.
And my 22-year-old, I like to say we grew up together.
And at that time, I was wrestling full-time,
230 dates, 200 wrestling matches a year, so I was always gone.
And I know what that's like to have an occupation
that takes me away from being a daddy.
And this time around, with my 7 and my 5-year-old,
I want to be a daddy, and that's the most important thing to me.
I want to be around.
Be there.
I want to be around, yeah.
I want to be around now, yes.
You're a good follow on socials.
I follow you all the time.
You post videos sometimes and sometimes photos of your daughters.
Either they're doing your nails or something like that.
And you're like, yeah, sure, whatever you want to do for daddy.
And I just want to show a couple because it made me laugh.
This one, they want to give you a manicure.
What started out as a manicure.
Yeah, they want to do your nails.
And you go, sure, you guys can do my nails.
And here's you at the end.
They painted your head.
It went beyond my nails to my head like that.
And by the way, that goes all the way on the back, 360 degrees.
That got out of control real fast.
I got a big-ass head, so that was a lot.
By the way, I didn't know this, but you ladies out there may know this,
but that's all lipstick.
See that reaction?
It does not come off easy.
It took you weeks.
Days, dude, yes.
I got Zoom calls, business to do, and it's like I got red patches.
We actually have a video of a work Zoom.
You had to do a work Zoom.
Here's a video.
So I had to do a Zoom.
Oh, my God.
That's the best.
Right there, man.
Come on.
That's the best.
It's the best.
I have to ask about your mom.
You know I love your mom.
She loves you.
How's she doing?
She's doing great.
We have the best memories.
One of my favorite New Year's Eve's ever spent with your mom.
Love that.
Give some context to the crowd, by the way, what happened here.
It's amazing.
It was early.
I want to say it's 5.30 in L.A. time, 6 o'clock.
I'm out to dinner with my wife, and we see these two beautiful women across from us,
and they're waving, and they say hi, and we're hanging out, and it's New Year's Eve.
And they're still staring.
It's getting creepy.
It's getting creepy, but she comes over, and she goes,
I just want to say I'm a big fan.
I want to take a picture, but my son will kill me.
I go, I don't care about your son.
Take a picture.
She goes, no, no, I don't want to do it.
I go, never mind.
I just want to come over and tell you I'm a fan, blah, blah, blah.
She goes, my son's Dwayne Johnson.
I go, get over here.
We're taking this picture.
Not only are we taking this picture, let's pretend that we were out all night.
And so I got balloons, I got a hat, and I got a bottle of champagne.
I laid it on the ground, or I unbuttoned my tie, and I'm like,
I go, send this to Dwayne at 12, 10, or midnight or something,
and go, we're partying with Jimmy Fallon.
It's awesome.
So I was going to say, let me say, though,
because he's never going to say this, I want you guys
and everyone around the world now watching,
I want you, here's an example of the kind of guy he is.
So this is a restaurant.
It's all out in the open.
It's a busy restaurant.
It's New Year's Eve, and everyone is in there
because they're waiting for 12 o'clock to roll around,
and he finds out that she's my mom in front of everybody
because he gets down to the other piano,
lays down on the ground, balloons, bottle of champagne out.
He's out.
My mom's taking a picture of this.
So, dude, I just, it gives you an example
of what a good guy this guy is.
I really appreciate it.
5.30, 6 o'clock at night?
Yes.
We didn't even start dinner yet.
It was great, and she was so fun.
And then you came on the show.
You were nice enough to come on during COVID,
and we couldn't book guests, and so you zoomed in,
and your mom was, while you were in Hawaii,
you go, and my mom's walking, I go, wait, your mom's there.
I got to say hi, and she grabbed the ukulele
and sang the most beautiful song,
and everyone was crying.
Everyone was like, that was the sweetest thing.
I tell everyone, not only am I zooming,
but I'm doing the Tonight Show live, okay, guys?
And then all of a sudden, my mom decides,
oh, hey, dude, can I have that thing?
And she's on camera, and Jimmy's like,
is that your mom?
I'm like, no, dude, it's not.
Is that your mom?
Oh, no.
Yeah, it is.
And then she breaks out the ukulele.
She starts playing.
But she just celebrated, what's the 75th?
75.
75 birthday.
Hi, happy birthday.
Thank you.
Thank you so much.
How did you celebrate?
It was awesome.
So we celebrated.
You know, I always say, if you got a good mom,
then you got a good shot at being a decent human being.
I don't know what happened to me, but nonetheless,
I got a great mom.
75 years old.
We brought in, I'm half black and half Samoan,
and on my Samoan side is my mom,
and she just loves her culture and our culture
of Polynesian Samoan culture.
So we bought in our Polynesian dancers, singers,
and it was really an incredible day.
Oh, and by the way, she has this crazy first name.
And I called up, we always like to do, you know,
bring in the big-name balloons,
and so we had a great time telling the balloon guys,
like, hey, this is her first name,
and it's like, Matenufengai Meleata.
Yeah, they're set for business for the whole year
for just one balloon for your mom.
It was really amazing, yeah.
It was really beautiful, and I love that.
And then, unfortunately, someone rearranged the balloons
while you were sleeping.
Here's the thing, guys.
You know, when you have a lot of balloons out there,
and you guys are like the big ones,
and they say everybody's name,
and they're like this big, they spell out the name,
and you want it to be nice and wholesome
and things like that.
Absolutely.
There's a dirty fairy that runs around our house
and who just rearranges the letters.
Why would anyone ever do something,
this is not, your mom's heartache.
I don't know why, but this is what happened.
No, this is terrible.
No, you can't.
What is wrong with people?
I don't know.
Whoever did that, you're not invited back to the party.
You're not coming back to 76.
More with Dwayne Johnson when we come back.
Yeah, it was a blast.
