In an update on Monday, Acting Secret Service Director Ronald Rowe said the agency needs to make improvements, including hiring more personnel. But he said a bigger budget is not enough. He suggested staff are already at their limit so more money for overtime pay won’t fix the problem.
Greg Shaffer, a retired FBI agent with the elite Hostage Rescue Team, joined NTD to discuss the update in the wake of the most recent apparent assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump.
