This is our road trip vlog while we live the RV lifestyle and go to some of the best places in BC. We will share with you all of the places we stay and visit on this BC RV trip in British Columbia, Canada that we have nicknamed “the cowboy loop”. More in depth details about each place can be found in our location specific videos linked in the video.
Our BC road trip continues in this second video of our 3 part “cowboy loop” series that starts and ends from our home base in Hope, BC. Jay goes swimming with a duck when we spend time at Marble Canyon Provincial Park, we enjoy the amazing views on highway 99, then make a pit stop at Lillooet before heading to Skihist Provincial Park outside of Lytton, BC.
And we're calling this the cowboy loop. Yeehaw! The second part of our journey takes us to the
white cliffs of Marble Canyon and then west to the beautiful little town of Lillooet nestled
in the mountains. We are heading into British Columbia's cowboy country so let's go.
We have arrived to Marble Canyon Provincial Park and now we are having the first campfire
actually of our whole trip so far. And it looks super bright outside right now. It's actually
quarter after seven. We're just gonna cook up some hot dogs for dinner and enjoy the evening right
here on the lake. On one of our first camping trips we had a discussion on the best way to
cook a hot dog over a campfire. Vertical or horizontal and it seemed like horizontal was
actually the best. So that's the technique I'm going to use tonight. Actually I'll give this
one to you. So I don't know about you guys, I like pretty basic stuff on my hot dog. Just mustard
and ketchup. But Jay... I don't know that much stuff. I have a little bit of utility sauce
and some ketchup and some mustard and some dill relish. It's not excessive. That's pretty saucy.
It's probably gonna make a mess. It's cold. Should I swim in this lake too? I think I'm probably gonna
have to. Oh yeah you committed before we went on this trip. You said I'm gonna swim in every lake
that we go to. And now a homeroam first. Benny will go for a dip in the lake. All right Benny
are you ready? What do you think? Curious kitten. The breeze has really picked up but I feel like I have
a bit of a friend here who I'm gonna go swimming with. Sorry I don't have anything for you. He's
forget you then. Oh look she's coming with us. Oh yeah can you go for a swim too? All right yeah
come this way. This is so cute. We're gonna test the temperature of the water all right.
Air temperature is about 23. It's right at the edge where it's super shallow. It's 18 degrees
celsius. And our little ducky friend has just gotten in and she says just go for it.
First dip is always so bad. Don't fall in. Water temperature 18 over there but I think it's colder
over here. Two, one, the duck has left the building. How do you feel? Wet. Good dip number one.
So after being out in the deep water this shallow section feels just like bath water.
Those extra couple degrees I could stay in here all day.
Mel's just setting up one of our favorite games here, Forbidden Island. It's a collaborative
game where you play together and you're all on the same team trying to reach the same objective.
Check out our rainy days video. Rainy day activities? No. Rainy day things to do for adults.
This is one of the games that we suggest and there's a few others too.
Well our time here at Marble Canyon has come to an end and today we are heading to Skihist
Provincial Park and we'll be going through Lillooet again. It's Friday and their farmer's
market is on so we're going to stop there first. We're just going to pack up here and keep on
rolling. Wow you guys, highway 99 between Marble Canyon and coming into Lillooet is awesome. There
are so many great views. A couple areas actually were a little bit scary. There was no guardrail
and like right below hardly any shoulder there was just like this cliff down to someone's house.
We've just stopped here at a roadside to get this amazing waterfall that we've just seen. Right,
I'll line up your fingers, right there. It's absolutely huge. It's way off in the distance
but you can actually hear it from here. Got my bathing suit on now. We've got the bend and we're
going down to Seton Lake to take a little dip. There's a sudden drop. I'll have to watch for
that. We have no temperature readings today because I forgot the thermometer up at the top
of the hill and I don't want to go all the way back up and get it. I'm at Seton Lake and I'm
crazy. Oh it still feels cold.
Oh when you get out here it is so so icy cold. Is it really glacier fed? Yes it really is. You
can feel the glacier. Well that was just a nice little refreshing dip. If you want to see more
of me freezing my butt off in ice cold lakes be sure to smash that like button.
We finally saw sheep. We've seen so many signs to watch out for bighorn sheep and these are
actually the first ones we've seen. Very exciting. All right let's keep going. As we continued down
the valley we saw smoke from a large wildfire burning just south of the town of Lytton.
We had planned to do a tour video of the town but decided to come back and film it later since it
was only an hour from home. Two weeks later a fast-moving wildfire ripped through the town
destroying most buildings displacing a thousand residents and leaving two dead.
We've linked below for information on wildfire prevention and how you can help people affected
by the wildfires in BC. And on that somber note we conclude part two. We of course always
appreciate it when you like our videos subscribe to our channel and hit the bell to be notified
of future videos. In our third and final episode we stay at Skihist Provincial Park
keeping a watchful eye on the nearby wildfire and then head south to journey up the rugged
and remote Nahatlatch Valley. Stay safe everyone and keep on living the life you've imagined.
