GIRONA FC 1 - 4 FC BARCELONA | RESUMEN LALIGA EA SPORTS | J5 | 2024/2025

Yengler Red Eilish and Ivan Martin in midfield. Eilish, of course, has left the club. Yengler's still there, but he doesn't play today. He's injured. Ivan Martin does start, and up front Sagenkov, Dopic and Sevilla. Well, they've lost two of those stars, but they've brought new faces in. Let's see if they can repeat. Not a chance here. It's Laminia Bal! And Barcelona have the lead. He shoots past Gazzaniga to score his second goal of the season. Our cameras immediately panned to David Lopez. It was a mistake from him in the build-up to the goal. But Laminia Bal strikes, and it is Girona 0-1 Barcelona. Rafinha with the free kick. Comes out to Laminia Bal! It's 2-0! Laminia Bal on the double! Inside 36 minutes. And Girona have been punished twice. Well, they're stunned inside Montelivi. Sagenkov spins, and he's got Miguel Gutierrez to his left. Abelriz waits for the pass. It goes across to Brian Hill, and that's a brilliant save from Marc-Andre Ter Stegen. That was the chance to get a foothold back into this game before the break. Maybe they get another one here. It's Brian Hill again. Handball. Penalty. So, they have another chance. No penalty. Olmo gets goalside of David Lopez, and what a goal that is! What a start to the second half. Dani Olmo scores his third goal of the season. That's the pick of the threes managed so far. Pick that one out. Barcelona three up at Montelivi. From one end of the pitch to the other. Thread through to Lewandowski. This will be a really special goal if he scores it. And at the second attempt, he's denied by David Lopez. What a move that was from Barcelona. ...who played last season mainly on the left side as a left-back when Alex Valdes was out injured. Casado's ball to the middle. Pedri can finish and make it four. It's 4-0 in Montelivi to FC Barcelona. Pedri gets the fourth. Second of the season for him. They're all joining the party. And Girona are spectators. Nice ball in behind. Abo Ruiz has got their head of Ter Stegen across the face of the penalty area. It's turned in by, who else, Stouani. It's not going to count for much today, but it's another Stouani goal. It was Porto, of course, with the cross. And Cristian Stouani, season after season, keeps on scoring. Every single game from the beginning, there will be a moment that they will feel weird if they don't do. Well, Ferran Torres has been sent off. So that puts a crimp in the afternoon for Barcelona. This afternoon, and it's an emphatic 4-1 Barcelona victory. All the boxes ticked. Xabi, very good performance from Barcelona. From the beginning to the end, I think there is no discussion. Of course, MVP, Lamin Yamal, and scores.
