Today I visit on of the most popular sites in the states of Chiapas Mexico which is a massive waterfall called El Chiflon. I was lucky enough to get a special visit and I’ve literally never seen anything like it.
I don't know if you can see but it is raining a lot.
Good morning from Montebello, Mexico where it rained all morning and continues to rain.
I was planning to go to El Chiflón.
Hope for a break in rain so I can pack up.
If it gets worse then I'll stay but if it gets better then I'll leave.
All right I'm gonna go for it.
Not sure what time it is maybe 1 30.
So extremely slippy.
Actually ready and it started to rain a little bit more again.
I'm gonna keep on.
Okay I love this moment.
See there's a dog that comes running from the distance right up to me
and seemingly wondering what I'm doing and then right up to my leg but I didn't even notice.
The plan for today is to ride to the very popular waterfalls called El Chiflón.
It's not a far drive thank goodness because I didn't take off until mid-afternoon.
It ended up raining most of the ride but you know what?
When it does rain on the motorcycle it's kind of a beautiful thing.
Not because the rain is particularly pretty but because it enables a total acceptance.
There's not much else you can do to get away.
You're on a motorcycle and it's raining.
But by allowing the experience I don't necessarily like to just be in my experience
the emotions that come along with trying to resist it just stop.
And what I'm left with is simply an appreciation of having an experience
riding in the rain and that appreciation is the beautiful thing.
Okay, thank you.
Thank you.
As you can see that I am soaking wet.
I'm psyched I came despite being soaked.
I really feel that this is the best way to go.
Let's check out this restaurant.
We're back in the room. Time to get cozy.
Good morning. It is exactly 6 30 right now and apparently they told me the park opens at 6 30.
Very dark outside.
Thought the entrance was right here but I don't see any lights.
Patented land look.
You can't see anything but my headlamp.
Here's the cabanas.
Walk all the way up here to the miradors.
I can see the big waterfall from here.
Cold.
Doesn't work anymore.
