Visiting Bush Beans and Gatlinburg | Blue Ridge Parkway Trip | Updates From The Road | Day 7

Day seven of the Blue Ridge Parkway trip starts right now on Motor Travel USA. Hopefully the view is all dry. I woke up to the power out at the hotel. It's about five o'clock right now. Good thing I brought a flashlight. See you on the road. Okay the bike's all packed up. This place is in complete and utter darkness outside. Obviously I can't show you because camera won't pick it up but everything is off. The main hotel over here. Street lights. Pretty crazy. I-81 is stuck in traffic. So much for leaving early, huh? Hopefully it's just a quick one. We will see. Just stopped off of I-81. Got held up for about an hour and I'm getting breakfast and coffee at Starbucks. Finishing up my coffee and getting the bike ready. Putting the radar detector back on because I'm almost out of Virginia and then I gotta fill up over at Sheetz. They don't have Sheetz in Florida but I've been to a couple in Pennsylvania and they're pretty good. Get ready and go get some gas and get back on the road. See you at the next stop. Well it's been a beautiful day so far. A lot of highway driving but it just got a little cloudy and drizzly here. I'm in Chestnut Hill, Tennessee I believe. I'm stopping here at the Bush's Visitor Center. Everybody loves Bush beans because it looks like there's a factory across the street but they have a visitor center. I guess this was the original place or something. I thought I'd stop here on the way to my next destination just to check it out and see what a bean visitor center looks like. Let's go inside and check it out. Beans, beans good for your heart. They must cook them over there. There's a smell in the air. Feels like a cracker barrel or something. It's actually really nice out here, rolling hills. Kind of reminds me of Pennsylvania where they make the potato chips and everything. Hers has a place and it looks exactly like this. Here's Bush's film just about to start. They said it's about 18 minutes long. 18 minutes on beans? We went off to film our commercial. I didn't realize they did other things besides the baked beans. Well that was interesting. The film was actually a plant tour. I guess since they don't want to give you a tour there, they filmed it. Kind of cheese but pretty interesting as well. Well since I'm at Bush Beans they have a cafe. Might as well try that. Let's go check it out. Honey Chipotle baked beans. They're pretty good. Just a slight kick. Well that wasn't too bad. It's worth a quick little stop. I wouldn't go out of my way again to come here but it's worth it going once if you're it's on your way to wherever you're going. Now if you could go in the factory that would be another story but the video showed you some of the stuff that kind of was interesting to me. Lunch was good at the cafe too and the service was great. One thing to note, it's definitely busier than I expected it to be. I'll see you at the next stop. Made it to the hotel near Gatlinburg. Gotta check in. The weather is holding out. It's just overcast. Weather is cool. Feels nice. Having a great time. The roads from the Bush Visitor Center to here were cool. Let's go check in and get the room. So I couldn't check in just yet but did all the paperwork. They just have to get the room ready. So I'm going to run down to downtown Gatlinburg and I think there's a Starbucks down there. Hopefully I can find some parking so we can get the pay for parking. All right see you next stop. I've made it to Gatlinburg. This place is like International Drive on crack if you're familiar with Orlando's International Drive. There's like zero parking. Hopefully no one smashes the bike here. Found a little spot. It's nice out. Couldn't walk to Starbucks. Check that out. I'm not sure where it goes but it's pretty cool. The coffee was good and refreshing. It's still busy as hell out here. So I've never been here before except driven through but never walked through the town. Best way to describe it is Jersey Shore meets International Drive in Orlando. That's what it seems like on first impression. A little stream, a little river. Looks like it flows through the town here. Kind of like Cherokee. There were actually a couple guys fishing. These roads are as crazy as Boston. So I made it to my hotel building and I'm gonna go check out the room. It's a pretty big complex. Now this is what I'm talking about. Bedroom with a king bed, kitchen and a living room area with a fireplace. I don't think it's gonna be cold enough for the fireplace. So bathroom, laundry. Awesome. Shower's right there. Big tub. Oh it goes to the bedroom. There's a sink right here. Place is pretty cool. So yeah how it works is there's an entryway with two units. Another great day. I stopped at Food City for some supplies. I'm good to go. Hopefully tomorrow I think the weather is supposed to be awesome and I'm gonna explore the roads. I'm gonna charge up all my stuff. Transfer all the footage.
