Brown Contemplative Studies, Religious Studies and East Asian Studies presented a lecture by renowned scholar, Professor Roger Ames, entitled "Confucian Role Ethics and the ""Casting" of Persons."

Professor Ames is Professor of Philosophy at the University of Hawaii and editor of "Philosophy East & West" and "China Review International."

He has authored several interpretative studies of Chinese philosophy and culture, most recently, "Confucian Role Ethics: A Vocabulary."
