(Back to our series) In today's vlog we are now on our way back home and driving from Winnipeg to Fort Frances. Before leaving the big city, we went downtown to the Forks, where the Assiniboine River flows into the Red River, and which has a rich history of early Aboriginal settlement, fur trade, the advent of the railway, waves of immigration and the Industrial Age. It was beautiful and we would have stayed longer to visit the Museum of Human Rights but had to hit the road again to meet our new friends in Fort Frances. The drive from Kenora around Lake of the Woods, down Sioux Narrows and to Fort Frances was stunning by the way. Once we arrived to Fort Frances, we met our new friends, Jackie and Gerry, who fed us and showed us all around town! Truly a memorable experience.
Thanks for watching! 😄
We upload a new adventure twice a week now, Mondays and Thursdays!

👩❤️👨MORE ABOUT US: We met at LaSalle Secondary School in Kingston Ontario and we’ve been together for over 8 years now. Keith comes from a bilingual military family and Devon from a Kingston family of teachers. We made it through Queen’s University together where Keith studied Mechanical Engineering and Devon, Concurrent Education and Global Development. Right now we’re travelling across Canada in a Dodge Caravan for the entire month but come January 2022 we have bigger plans in mind. Our goal is to #travel full time, become #selfemployed, and #explore the world while sharing what we’ve learned and capturing our experiences. 🌎✈️📚
So tired, Evan.
Then we're going to lose all our money.
We are off to Ontario.
We're Keith and Deb.
This past year we started a YouTube channel
to make the most of each day.
Most recently we have converted a 2011 Dodge Caravan
and have been traveling across Canada
from Ontario all the way to BC
and all the way back.
Subscribe to follow along.
Good morning. We're no longer at Walmart.
We got up sort of early.
Waking up early to come to the Forks in Winnipeg.
Which is apparently the thing to do if you're here.
The downtown market-like thing.
And we saw that there's a lot of breakfast places.
So we're going to go get food because I'm starving.
Same.
It smells so good in here.
We're also like first people here.
Look at that.
There's only a handful of people.
That's right.
Evan's doing your belly dance.
It's so good.
Yeah, this is a classic breakfast that's made.
Little piggies are tired.
So tired, Evan.
Waking up early.
We're going to go get coffees
because we're both a little tired
and go for a walk to burn off this breakfast.
And then bathroom baked goods and on the road.
Here you go.
Okay, we're still out of it.
We're tired. Coffee's leaking on us.
There's a wasp on our hand and on our face.
It is a rough morning.
It's not.
It is. You just said it was.
She's lying. We just realized.
We lost an hour and we forgot to be like
why are we so tired this morning?
And it's because we got up an hour earlier than we used to.
This is like a celebration of the city
at the heart of the city.
If you know if there's more of a meeting
comment below because we have no idea what this is.
But it's really beautiful.
If I had to guess, when you stand in the middle
at a specific time
all these little loops
or slash targets
are looking at a star.
The Forks in Treaty 1 territory and the homeland
of the Métis has been a meeting place
for thousands of years. Indigenous people
from across the North America plains
have come to this spot to trade
hunt, fish, and celebrate.
We're walking back onto the
Esplanade Riel. It's a very
beautiful bridge. This little area
of Winnipeg. We haven't seen much of Winnipeg
but this area is really really cute.
So we gotta get back to the car
and slowly hit the road because we have
a 5 hour drive today.
Classically. Better than 8 though, right?
Because we're going to Fort Francis.
So a lot of people told us to go to this museum.
It's the Human Rights Museum which we would
love love love to do but sadly
we don't have time. But if you have time and you're
in the area, please go to the museum and let us know
how it is because again, more than one person
has told us that this is an amazing
museum.
Back in the van and we have to
quickly head out because someone's waiting to take our spot.
We told them we're leaving.
Good thing we got here early because the fort seems to be
a busy place. Seems like it's the it place
for tourism. It is a Saturday too.
We are off to Ontario.
We switched drivers.
I'm going to do some...
Am I going to hit it? Yeah I'm going to hit it.
And do your trading too. Yeah I was going to do some
buying and selling of some stock and also
download some podcasts before we lose signal
once we get into Ontario.
We got to make do with our data right now.
We waited too long.
All I have is E.
I have edge one bar.
Hey Mr. Dramatic
We lost signal and I can't download
podcasts and we're going to lose all our money.
That's not true at all.
This song is fitting.
I was going to just check our stocks.
Our investments. Turns out
it's Saturday.
It's a Saturday too.
Oh my lord.
I'm a lover
and I'm a sinner.
You know what I look like right now?
You know that haircut that Chandler has in Friends
when he was in high school?
I totally have that hair.
Update.
Devon's driving listening to a podcast still.
I'm doing some editing.
That is all.
Banana bunnies.
We're just pulling into Fort Francis.
Driving through. Population of
7,700. The states
is incredibly close. We're going to be the closest
we've been to the states I think since
we drove on Zero Ave.
The states is literally right behind
that yellow sign.
That was cool.
We made it to Jackie and Jerry's
house. Haven't met them yet. They are
Leslie's friends. Thank you very much for having us.
Thanks for the connection too Leslie.
Thank you. Been driving for the last
four hours. Gets to ya.
Good job out there.
We're going to be in Fort Francis for the night.
And then tomorrow Sunday. We're just hanging out
with Jackie and Jerry. They fed us.
They're amazing. They're the nicest humans.
We just met them today. And they're giving us a tour
of the town and that's the states.
It was so cool to learn
about Fort Francis from Jerry and Jackie's
perspective who have so much history and
knowledge about the town that they grew up in.
What's he getting a picture of?
Jackie and Jerry. Welcome to
the vlog.
Thanks for having us.
Well thanks for coming.
I don't like flags. Jackie
doesn't like flags I hope. And I thought
let's make an A.
They'll know we're Canadian.
Canadian A.
Run Dove. Run.
Run.
Come on.
I don't get to pee Dove. Come on now.
Give me a little jaunt.
Oh crap.
I ate my carrot too quickly and I get the hiccups.
This happened yesterday too.
Another 60 zone.
It's like you're flinching.
It'll go away. I promise. It'll just take some time.
Now that we're slowing down I feel like we're going like
no miles per hour.
Poor little thing. I'm scared that she's going to choke on the carrot.
