Today's vlog may have been our favourite day of our road trip across Canada. It was a brisk August morning when we woke up in our van in Golden B.C. We weaved through the mountains, into thick clouds, and into Yoho National Park to the historic Spiral Tunnels. From there we made it to Moraine Lake for breakfast in Banff National Park. No wonder this place is highly touristy, it's just surreal, something out of a Disney movie. We walked the entire trail around Moraine Lake and touched the ice cold glacier water too. We stopped at Laggan's Bakery in the town of Lake Louise for lunch and then made plans to head up the Bow Valley to Bow Lake. We hiked a trail called Bow Glacier Falls and we cannot recommend this enough. Waterfalls, riverbeds, streams, mountains, glaciers... This day had everything.
Thanks for watching! 😄
We upload a new adventure 3 times a week, Monday, Wednesday and Friday!

👩❤️👨US: We met at LaSalle Secondary School in Kingston Ontario and we’ve been together for over 8 years now. Keith comes from a bilingual military family and Devon from a Kingston family of teachers. We made it through Queen’s University together where Keith studied Mechanical Engineering and Devon, Concurrent Education and Global Development. Right now we’re travelling across Canada in a Dodge Caravan for the entire month but come January 2022 we have bigger plans in mind. Our goal is to #travel full time, become #selfemployed, and #explore the world while sharing what we’ve learned and capturing our experiences. 🌎✈️📚
Jaw-dropping. Maybe you get a wheelchair when we get home. This is probably the best breakfast view I've ever had.
Somehow Keith has convinced me to go swim in the glacier.
We're Keith and Deb. This past year we started a YouTube channel to make the most of each day.
Most recently we have converted a 2011 Dodge Caravan and have been traveling across Canada from Ontario all the way to BC.
Subscribe to follow along.
Good morning from the spiral tunnels!
We left Jack and Meg's this morning in Golden. Thank you very much again for having us this whole time.
And Emma, that was so great. It is a beautiful crisp morning as you can tell we're wearing our jackets.
We drove through some clouds, but above the clouds and whenever it clears up, it is so beautiful. Blue skies. Just amazing.
Yeah, so we're gonna go explore the Banff area today and see where the day takes us.
So exciting.
Let's go!
This is our first time driving through this area where when it's not smoky and we can actually see the mountains.
So we wanted to capture a bit of it for you.
So we're gonna continue with the mountain montage just until we get to Lake Moraine.
We made it to Lake Moraine.
It definitely is pretty funny. You drive down this really long road and then it gets all touristy and then boom you got mountains.
We almost didn't come here because of parking and like weird access to the road.
And we had to ask and apparently there was like two spots left and we got one of them.
This is insane. This is beautiful. It's going very well. I'm hungry.
So I'm excited to eat breakfast and I gotta say quickly. This is probably the best breakfast view I've ever had.
Breakfast view you've ever had? Yes.
This is insane. This is real life.
This is so beautiful. This is not a backdrop. This is real life.
Breakfast was delicious. I have more energy now. Oh man, that was nice. Yeah, just it's magical here. It really is.
Okay, it makes sense why this place is so touristy. It is like being in a Disney fairy tale.
Little birds, little chipmunks, the turquoise water, the mountains.
Yeah, just taking it in.
It got warm, we took off our jackets, but we're almost at the end of the trail and it literally just stops.
And we're at the end.
There's glaciers behind us, there's glaciers there, there's a glacier right there, which is actually leading into this.
So we are going to touch the glacier water that is leading into Lake Moraine.
Keep your hand in it too. It's ice cold, huh? Yeah, it's so cold.
That's some fresh water, baby.
Bottle of here, sell it for 20 bucks a bottle.
Oh, the tranquility and nature.
Holy guacamole. I can't get over this place.
As you can see, we are walking back on this lovely easy trail.
And then we are going to be trying to find a bakery in Lake Louise for some lunch that was recommended by my mom.
So hopefully we find it. We found Leggings and we got a lot of food. We did.
I mean, we've been thinking about going here for, well, since we left because Lori told us to come here.
And we've got a beautiful picnic spot. So I got some vegetarian chili. Lori recommended. Which she recommended.
The...
Pizza bun. Oh goodness, that smells good.
That smells amazing. Almost didn't get it, so happy we did.
Keith got a chocolate croissant. You have to, it's a bakery. We got a gluten-free brownie.
Oh, there was gluten-free stuff. Yeah. That smells pretty good, too.
And lastly, Keith also got a nice breakfast sandwich. Yeah, it's a Western style.
Time to eat.
Delicious lunch. The vegetarian chili was very, very good. I still have quite a bit of brownie left because it was very sweet.
But it's gluten-free, so that's cool they have options.
Still drinking our coffee and enjoying this view.
So many things to see here. So many views. Even though we seem a little bit tired at the moment, we have decided.
We know what our plan is. We have a plan.
It's only, what is it? It's almost two, but we are going to drive half an hour to Bow Lake. We were there.
We are now at Bow Lake. Super smoky right now.
We want to see those falls and the Glacier Lake.
So we're definitely gonna make a pit stop on the way home when you're doing a loop and you have to come back the same way.
It's awesome. And we're going to try our hike again. Keith was like, Dev, I don't think I can hike today.
My legs are sore from yesterday. I pulled something on my, I think my my left leg. I pulled my hamstring.
I think I pulled my hamstring. So it's really sore, but I was rolling it last night.
Anyways, we checked all trails and this was someone's comment.
If your legs are destroyed from several days of hiking, but you still want to get out and enjoy nature, do this trail.
So Devon's like, that's it. That's the sign. We're doing it.
So I gotta stretch and roll.
Maybe you get a wheelchair when we get home. To Bow Lake.
We made it to Bow Lake. Devon just sprinted off to go pee. The Bow Valley is
jaw-dropping. I can't believe we missed all of this when we came here the first time and we saw nothing but smoke.
Because I don't want to have to do that again.
When we're done hiking,
we're gonna just want to get in our car and not have to walk this whole way. So there's parking over there? Tons.
I didn't pee my pants though.
I just warmed up for this hike. That's for sure. I'm gonna try and do the whole hike.
I kind of don't think we'll do the whole thing because Keith's
Mr. Limpy pants, wherever he is back there.
So yeah, but you have to see this lake. It's gorgeous.
Yeah, hammies are still tight.
Can you do that baseball again, Emma?
We are part way around the lake. I took my sweater off again because it has been warm.
But oh my gosh, this is so beautiful. We'll count how many times I said that today, but I just cannot get over it.
It's our first time seeing blue skies, and I'm just blown away.
Yeah, we could spend forever
taking pictures and filming. We can't.
And because we're going to Kate and Cody's for dinner and Kate's the best cook ever.
So we have to make sure we arrive on time. This is true, too.
We have to head back. What an amazing hike. Holy smokes. So happy we did that. Happy my hamstring is okay.
Let's get back to the car. We've got some people to see and some food to eat.
So we made it back to the van and somehow Keith has convinced me to go swim in the glacier water.
We have to. This is our last...
This is gonna be our last time in the Rockies. We have to swim in glacier water.
Yes, and we got back early so we have time to do it.
So we're gonna go jump in the water and then be freezing and have warm car on the way home.
So happy we're doing this actually. Look at this cool little water. I just want to get in.
Ready? Run in. Watch your feet. Watch your toes.
Yeah, it's gonna be so cold. Okay.
Let's go. I'm going in. Ready?
Oh, it's sandy.
Oh, it is sandy. It is ice cold.
Oh, does it drop off right here?
Three, two, one.
Not bad.
That was amazing. Okay, we gotta go.
That was so nice. Yeah, we do. Let's go.
That was amazing.
We're walking back now.
But, holy smokes.
So worth it. Oh my god, I'm happy we did that.
Me too.
Tomorrow we leave the Rockies. This was a great finale.
Amazing.
Definitely swim in a glacier lake.
Not as cold as I thought it was gonna be.
It's just river ice cold. That's all.
That's all it is.
We made it.
We're here at Kate and Cody's.
Thank you guys so much again for hosting us
for the night.
We made it to Kate and Cody's.
Hello.
We made it.
Thanks for having us again.
Absolutely. You're more than welcome.
And there's actually proof.
So they do live in the mountains. Now that we can see them.
It's so beautiful here. So beautiful.
A great way to spend the end
of our Rockies.
Oh my gosh. Today was honestly
maybe my favorite day yet of the trip.
It was unreal. Spiral tunnels.
Field. Clouds.
Crisp air in the morning.
So many beautiful lakes.
Lots of hikes. Exercise.
Beautiful drive. Just the drive is fantastic.
It was such a great day.
So thank you guys for watching
and tagging along.
And we'll see what tomorrow brings.
To the prairies.
Thanks for watching.
But seriously.
Like.
How?
You got caught in the door?
Hurry.
We have a towel on the roof.
Still there.
