The first steps in training is pairing the (whistle) bridge with fish. This has to be done a lot so the dolphin learns the bridge means reinforcement. Babies and rescues all start at the first beginning steps. 
Cardiff was rescued on January 23, 2024. He spent a lot of his time recovery from his stranding. Due to his young age and injuries he was deemed unreleasable. In May he moved to dolphin stadium and has met most of the dolphins that live there.
