What summer would be complete without a vacation by the ocean?
Lounging on the sand, soaking up the sunshine, having a swim in the refreshing ocean,
it's heavenly. Hello everybody, welcome back to Passport Pages and today we're going to list
our choices for the absolute best in U.S. beach resorts. Before we begin, we post great travel
videos every week so please subscribe and ring the bell to be notified. While the Caribbean
and Mexico get a lot of attention for their wonderful beach resorts, most people overlook
the United States for beach getaways, but the U.S. has many great beach resorts to choose from.
From tropical resorts to classic New England summer getaways, this list will highlight all
the U.S. has to offer for beach escapes, so let's get into it. Our first pick is the Ritz-Carlton
on Amelia Island, Florida. This very large beach resort sits on a barrier island with 13 miles of
coastline and is a mere 35 miles from Jacksonville. It features 444 rooms and flawless
service, including staff members who will pamper you with chilled towels and ice water while you
lounge by the pool. When you're tired of soaking up the rays, you can go for a guided walk along
the picturesque sand dunes or take a tour nearby. It's a true luxury beach resort that incorporates
the natural beauty of Florida very well, making for an unforgettable experience. Now let's head a
bit north to Georgia and the Cloister at Sea Island. This beach resort is actually a 1928
Mediterranean-style mansion, which sits on 1,000 acres of beach property. The rooms are all
incredibly comfortable and plush, but if you'd like a little bit more room, try the Beach Club
Suite, which comes complete with a kitchen, fireplace, and balcony. The resort is very child
and family-friendly and has an ice cream parlor, movie theater, and children's center. For a really
unique experience, try the Cloister Belle, a restored antique yacht which offers 90-minute
tours of the salt marsh for $100 per person. The Cloister is one of the most awarded resorts in the
world for good reason. Now back to Florida and La Playa Beach and Golf Resort. The grounds of
this resort have a very tropical ambiance with coconut palms, tiki torches, and fire pits,
as well as an amazing golf course. The cuisine consists of many delicious Gulf Coast seafood
options, and the staff are amazing and willing to accommodate your every need. The sunsets here are
amazing as well, and if you choose a gulf tower room with a balcony, you'll have a perfect view.
It's a beach resort that offers casual elegance with a tropical setting that will almost make
you forget you're in the U.S. Staying in Florida, let's visit the Breakers in Palm Beach. Built in
1896 and renovated in 1926, this luxury spot was designed to look like an Italian Renaissance
palace, and offers an astounding 540 rooms, all set on 140 acres of beach. Your jaw will surely
drop as you make the drive up the palm-lined drive that leads up to the huge resort.
Despite the age of the property, much of the decor is very modern, especially the guest rooms,
which have continued to be renovated since 2010 in neutral, very peaceful tones and decor.
If you really want to splurge and pamper yourself, rent a private cabana at the pool,
which comes complete with flat screen TV and private concierge service. Yes,
this place is very expensive, but it's the ultimate in American beach luxury.
Now let's switch coasts and go from the Atlantic to the Pacific and the Montage in Laguna Beach,
California. This beach resort gives you Italian Riviera vibes, almost like the Amalfi Coast,
and has a truly perfect location on 30 acres up on a bluff, which provides 280 degree views of
Pacific Ocean. It also offers 250 rooms, but if you'd like to really experience the incredible
views, choose an Ocean Surf View Room, which are on the top floors and offer the best views of the
ocean, and it's these sweeping panoramic views which make it stand out as one of the best in
the country. Back to Florida and the most secluded resort in the state and on our list, Little Palm
Island Resort on Little Torch Key, Florida. Since we've been telling you what part of the world
some of these resorts are reminiscent of, let's continue with this one which feels like a remote
getaway in the South Pacific. Set along a white sand beach on a private six-acre island, this
resort can only be accessed by boat or seaplane, making it the perfect spot for a romantic escape.
Many times it will feel like you're all alone on the island. If you'd like a break from the
isolation, take a resort kayak and head to Loo Key and the National Marine Sanctuary,
which protects 2,900 square nautical miles in the Florida Keys. Little Palm is an all-inclusive
resort and offers amazing dining, but please note that there are no TVs, cell phone reception,
etc., so it's really for those who just want to spend time with their partner in a private paradise,
but there's no better place to do so. Still staying in Florida is the Elizabeth Point Lodge,
which actually looks more like a Nantucket summer home from the Gatsby era and sits right on the
beach. The furnishings are also from the era with many antiques and oversized tubs. If you book a
suite, you'll have your own deck with ocean views of the Atlantic. The breakfasts are truly gourmet
and delicious, and the staff is incredibly warm and welcoming, giving you a feeling of visiting
the home of friends. It's a very warm and special beach experience all around. Now for a big change
of pace, let's head up to New England and look at the Castle Hill Inn in Newport, Rhode Island.
This beach resort is actually the former summer house of Alexander Agassiz and was built in 1874.
It sits on a small peninsula where the Atlantic Ocean meets the Narragasset Bay,
making for a perfect viewing spot for many types of marine animals. It is intimate with only nine
guest rooms and suites. For the best views, book the Turret Suite, which offers complete 360-degree
views of the Atlantic Ocean. The resort offers 40 acres of private beach and sumptuous dining at
its four-star restaurant. Try the Castle Hill Inn not just for a wonderful beach escape, but a step
back in time to our wonderful era. Now no list of best American beach resorts would be complete
without options in Hawaii, so let's spend some time in this tropical state beginning with the
Four Seasons Maui at Wailea. There is nothing that you'd want that this resort won't help you
achieve. There's 380 rooms are decorated with tropical Polynesian style decor, and the suites
offer views of either the Pacific Ocean or the majestic Haleakala volcano. In between taking in
the scenic views, the resort offers scuba diving, snorkeling, and yoga classes, all included in the
cost of your stay, as well as an adults-only infinity pool, making for an ideal Hawaiian experience.
And finally, the Four Seasons Resort Hualalai. This isolated beach resort has 228 rooms in
low-rise, two-story bungalows, and all of them have ocean views, one of the many reasons this
pick is our favorite. The property borders between a rocky volcanic coast with seaboarder
and freshwater swimming pool. The incredible spa is open-air, so you can experience the beautiful
tropical vegetation while getting a massage treatment. The rooms are very elegant yet
understated, and the resort offers three restaurants. It also has a great golf course.
For a large resort with 228 rooms, the intimate atmosphere created by the low bungalows,
as well as the essence of Hawaiian design, culture, and tradition, makes this a very unique resort and
a true heaven-on-earth experience. So there are our picks for the best American beach resorts.
Hopefully we've inspired you to not overlook the U.S. the next time you plan a beach vacation,
because you'd be missing out on many wonderful escapes. If you enjoyed this video and found it
