Prayer for the Ancient Temples

The Maya represents a modified version of the ancient Maya flute which was used around 200 BC to 1200 AD. It was originally made in clay; this is a unique wooden adaptation in Alaskan Yellow Cedar with black stain and turquoise stone.

The Maya is a six holed drone flute precisely tuned using the traditional Native American flute pentatonic minor scale. It has three chambers which can be played both independently and together to create variations of melodies and harmonics.

In the old times these were temple flutes to be played within the pyramids to connect with the higher self. It’s been a beautiful journey to get to know this flute more intimately and share with you.
