This is the start of my actual Vlogging, taking you on the journey as I go. In this video, a few unexpected things happen, from leaving San Miguel de Allende for Mexico City to ending up extending my stay for a timely invitation.... I hope you enjoy and follow along!
It's five something in the morning and just packing up my last minute things.
Gotta put the bags on the bike and then I'll roll out.
Today I leave San Miguel de Allende for Mexico City
to get new tires and see some friends before heading to Eastern Mexico.
Little did I know I'd meet after a few surprises.
Two days earlier, while at lunch with a friend,
we realized we were both driving to Mexico City the same day.
So we decided to caravan.
It started as a beautiful morning.
We left Guanajuato and entered Querétaro.
Soon after, we hit traffic.
Major traffic.
Mexico City is quite known for its traffic but this was a whole new level.
So I'm sitting in traffic here and I just looked up on Waze
and it looks like an hour and a half of standstill traffic into Mexico City.
My friend just told me that his friend said that some well burst
and there is water and they're not allowing small cars to pass.
So we shall see.
So I'm really thankful for my audio device right now.
I'm listening to Inner Engineering by Sat Guru.
I was also really thankful to be caravanning with my friend.
The hours in traffic didn't feel so bad and our pit stops were super fun.
Maybe from here we've been on the road since 8 a.m.
It's about 12.
We stopped for Starbucks and stuff but now it says four hours to Mexico City
and from our original destination it's supposed to be like three and a half hours.
So it's a long time.
At one point, we decided to try and circumnavigate the traffic with Waze.
Sometimes Waze will give you the route around traffic.
We ended up on a bit of a gnarly road.
Finally, after only nine hours, we made it to Mexico City.
We parted Waze and I was off to my Airbnb.
My Airbnb in Mexico City.
It's one of these gates.
It is 4 24 p.m.
I left San Miguel at 7 20 ish and as you can tell that took all day.
It's supposed to be maybe three four and a half hours to Mexico City
but there was like a crazy overflow on the highway and just traffic the entire way.
It was wild.
But anyway, I'm here at the Airbnb.
First time I've booked this place and they said they have parking in a courtyard
and I'm looking at a way to get into this courtyard.
So I definitely cannot fit through there with my side pannier.
Yeah, this is our dinner spot.
That window is my room and this is the little hallway.
Of course, it looks bigger but the way that I came through, I don't want to stuff.
I'm here in my Mexico City Airbnb and I'm about to do what I came here to do
which is give my girl some new tires.
She's right out there.
You can't see her.
It's too bright.
So that's really exciting.
She needs them.
Then I'm gonna go meet up with two friends which I'm really excited about
and get my nails done.
Also really excited about and get some sunglasses, go to Radio Shack and things like that.
I love Mexico City.
I really do.
It's like a little like New York but nicer and better.
I won't say that.
Cut.
Delete that out.
I'm practicing vlogging.
Oh, perfect.
Just vlog it natural.
I'm in La Condesa and it's just so nice because there are, let me show you, so many trees.
There's like this inner path, inner sidewalk that has all these trees
plus just all the amazing things of a big city
like great food, stores, everything I need to get I can get
and I just love Mexico City so much.
This little cute cactus in a cup.
Just a cute little thing.
Okay, I'm meeting up with the mono.
I think I see her.
I'm gonna try and scare her.
Let's see how this goes.
Look at her!
Wow and it came with the lights and everything?
Wow, that's the best.
But this is yours from before.
Oh my god, there's my sticker!
I forgot about that.
Can I sit on her?
Yes, you should.
She is perfect!
When did you get it?
Bye!
Needed to do.
Good morning.
It is 7 a.m and I am opening this gate to take my motorcycle out
and go meet some friends and go test ride some BMW motorcycles.
I think I'm gonna be nervous.
I'm not really that fast on my motorcycle
but it's gonna be a new experience.
This is cool.
So it's about one hour drive from the city and that's it.
This is gonna be a day.
Yeah, I'm like just starting like as of last week.
I've started the actual vlog and then this next couple weeks
I'm gonna do the video.
I'll start to edit and then awesome.
Okay, let me do another vlog.
Well, let's say where we are.
This is the track.
So Mono invited me to this very cool event BMW Taluka or BMW.
Yeah, we're actually at Momentum Fest 2021
and they're showing us the new line of BMWs and we've already ridden.
Well, I don't wear it.
It's fun.
Amazing.
Very fun.
Let's show the track.
That's just the top.
It starts to record off.
Which one is that?
Oh, this is the S1000.
Okay, do your rhythm.
Okay, cool.
Really comfy.
Awesome.
