Hey guys, it's Joanne from Fifteen Spatulas. Today is the second video in my non-alcoholic drink
mini series. We are going to make a strawberry limeade. This is just like a lemonade but we're
going to use limes instead of lemons as our star ingredient. We're going to add some strawberries
to it, a little bit of fresh mint. It's just really refreshing and delicious. This is one
of my favorite drinks. Let's get started. The first thing you want to do is cut up some fresh limes
and we want to end up with about a half cup of lime juice. You'll need about four to five limes.
Just use a lemon juicer to squeeze the juice out. Next we're going to make a simple syrup. So
combine a third of a cup of sugar and a third of a cup of water in a saucepan. Cook this over medium
heat until the sugar dissolves and the mixture is clear. Then you're going to pull it off the
stove and let it chill completely. Next you want to cut up a half pound of strawberries. Just trim
the stems off and then you can cut the strawberries into thin slices. And when you're done with that,
put the strawberry slices into a big mason jar or a pitcher. Then you're going to add in some
fresh mint leaves, about 20 to 30 of those, just estimate it. And then add the lime juice,
the chilled simple syrup, and finally two cups of cold water. Give it a stir and then you're
going to refrigerate this for at least three hours so the flavors can infuse the water
and the strawberries have time to give the limeade a pretty pink color.
Once the limeade has chilled, it's ready to serve. So fill up a little jar or cup with some ice and
pour the limeade right on top. You can garnish with some extra fresh mint and it's ready. My
strawberry limeade is ready to taste. I love how it gets like all pink from the strawberries as
it sits in the fridge. I'm going to add a little paper straw because I can't help myself. They're
so cute. Let's give this a taste. Oh, wow. Oh, that wasn't a taste. That was like five good glugs.
This is so, so good. It's like the right amount of punchy citrus,
the sweetness from the strawberries, little minty freshness. This is so good. So, so easy.
Hope you guys enjoyed learning how to make this recipe. I'll be back with another drink next
Monday and my usual recipe videos on Thursday. I'll see you guys next time.
