Let's talk about battement fondu, shall we?
Battement fondu is a fundamental movement in ballet that means melting. 🫠

Now, here's the fun part: imagine you're in a fancy restaurant, and you're trying to retrieve a napkin that fell on the floor. You gracefully bend down to pick it up while keeping one leg straight and pointed, and then lift back up. Voila! That's considered a battement fondu! 😂

Here's how you can do it step-by-step:

1️⃣ Start in first position, with your heels together and toes turned out or third position.
2️⃣ Lift one foot off the ground and place it on the ankle of the standing leg.
3️⃣ Bend both knees into a diamond shape with the working foot pointed towards the ground.
4️⃣ Straighten both knees, lifting the working leg to a front side or position(45 degrees high).
5️⃣ On the way back, Bend both knees into a diamond shape with the working foot pointed towards the ground.
6️⃣ Place back into the starting position.

Remember to keep your upper body tall and your core engaged. And don't forget to smile! 😃 Ballet is all about grace and joy. 🌸🌼

So, there you have it, a fun and easy explanation of battement fondu. Keep practicing, and soon you'll be dancing like a pro. Happy dancing!
