Anya Taylor-Joy: How She Conquered Hollywood

Anya Taylor-Joy, born on April 16, 1996, in Miami, Florida, is an American actress and model. She was the youngest of six children and moved to Buenos Aires, Argentina, as a baby, where she spent her early years. Her mother, of British-Spanish descent, and her Scottish-Argentine father, provided a culturally rich upbringing. Anya spoke only Spanish until she was six, when her family relocated to London. Adjusting to life in London was challenging for Anya, who felt out of place and used acting as an escape. She attended Queen's Gate School in London, where she was discovered by a modeling scout outside Harrods department store. Modeling opened doors to acting opportunities, leading her to leave school at 16 to pursue her career.
