Welcome everybody! Today I'm going to teach you some basic skills and give you some tips on how
to go off of a drop. I know a drop can be very intimidating especially on like this that has
a big gap in between. My advice to you especially as a beginner starts small and slowly move up from
that. Before going off of a drop you want to make sure that your seat is down and your pedals are
going to be level. So going off off a drop it's not like doing a bunny hop. So you don't want to
be pulling. If you pull too hard there is a possibility of you looping out at the bottom.
You don't want to do that. It's also not a shrub so you don't want to be scrubbing
down the top of it. You want to keep a nice momentum flow and speed off of the drop. You
want to move forward. Also don't try to overthink this. Let the speed and your automatic body
movement take over. If you're not that confident yet you can also find a drop that actually has a
back side on it. So that has a ramp on the back and that when you are not that confident you can
still roll off of it. Come rolling in with some speed. Have your pedals leveled. Your head is
going to be up and looking forward and before you're going to go off of the drop you
want to make sure that your hips and your weight are going to move back. So they're going to move
back behind the saddle. Your legs are going to push into the pedals forward. So you're going
to kind of stretch out your legs. Your body goes tall into the back and then your arms are going
to be stretched out forward. Once you're in the air make sure you flow with the bike. Look for
the landing. Look what's coming up on the trail ahead of you and get ready for the landing.
Depending on the downslope of the landing some of the drops can be quite harsh. So get ready.
Feel strong on the bike. Get ready for the landing and let it roll out. That's it everybody. Some
basic skills and tips on how to do a drop off. I wish everybody good luck with practicing.
Until next time. Happy trails!
