U20Championship 2024 | Honduras 2-2 Canada | Group B

The CONCACAF Men's Under 20 Championship continues as we head to Irapuato in the central part of Mexico at the Estadio Sergio León Chávez. Checks from the referee Quincy Williams and we are underway here. Who is it going to be? It's going to be López, right for the shot, bending. Oh! Canada! What a beautiful free kick here by Santiago López. Left-footed. Outswing a near post. Oh! The flicked up. Excellent delivery. And a clever header. Look at the spin of the ball away from goal. Herrera. Left-footed shot. Takes a deflection. No problem there for Swidelski. It falls to Morgan. Goal! Gives Canada a 2-0 lead. It's a great ball down the right side for Costa. Look at the work here by Santiago López. Back toward goal. Bodies off the defender. Looks like he actually lost control of it for a second with Tatum. Tatum actually gets the position on him. And look at that. That effort. Slight. And that will do it for the first 45 minutes at the Estadio Sergio León Chávez. Canada with a 2-0 advantage over Honduras after the first 45 minutes. For the team in red and white. Second half. Now into space. An opportunity for Ponce. This is Osorto. Osorto with the shot! Swidelski, pouncing on the rebound. Goal! Honduras! Great save by Swidelski. But the Canadian defense slowed to recover and react. And Ángel Villatoro, as they say, in the right place at the right time for the Olancho striker. Santiago López and the man wearing the number 19 who came on as a substitute, Davio Cicerelli. Gonna get a yellow card here on Derek Olsen. Ooh, that shot dangerous going in as Villatoro looking for second. Villatoro, Osorto lifting it over the top. Vasquez to turn the shot! Coming on very quickly. Here's Osorto lifting it inside the header over the goal. Christopher Cubas. Cubas service into the middle for Vasquez with the turn to shot. Goal! Kind of camping out there. And initially it looks like he is covered by Diallo. But the dreaded ball watching. And Osorto right place at the right time. Oh, brilliant technique. Remontada Supreme for La Mini H.
