Biden Harris administration announces additional $1.2 billion in student loan relief

On July 18, 2024, the Biden-Harris administration announced the approval of about $1.2 billion in additional student loan relief. The relief comes to 35,000 borrowers across the country who work in public service. The approvals are the results of fixes the administration made to the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program.
