Zheng Qinwen vs. Sara Errani | 2024 Palermo Round 1 | WTA Match Highlights

Needs to get it on the board and absolutely both players will be fully aware it's the first service game of Arrani's. It could well be two weeks ago. Oh we know that is Arrani all over. Oh my word that was a bullet. Well brilliant from Arrani. That's where Zhenja to put the point away. Lovely hands like from the Italian. That's a lovely touch. Zhenja just reminding Arrani that she can also play the soft stuff and that is wide and that is the first set on the board for Zhenja. Well Arrani has at least broken the duck and got some games of Zhenja. You do feel Zhenja was always in control of set one. 34 minutes, 6-3 she takes it. Vast improvement on their first meeting last year but all that being said you still feel Arrani has a heck of a lot to do here. It just has the power more than anything else to get through Arrani. Brilliant pass that was there to be hit. Too easy for Zhenja really there. So break a serve for Zhenja looking to back it up. Already set to the good. Yeah desperate defending from Arrani and the defending champion safely through on route to taking the title last year. She got past Sara Arrani in round one in straight sets. Not quite so emphatic this year but still an excellent win for Zhenja. 6-3, 6-2 in just under an hour and a quarter. Two contrasting matches we've had on centre tonight.
