TROPHY LIFT- SPAIN lift the EURO 2024 trophy in Berlin 🇪🇸🏆

Ladies and gentlemen, delivering the trophy for the cup ceremony, please welcome back Giorgio Chiellini. He had his moment on a horrid rainy night in London three years ago. Italy, from behind, came and stole it away from the crestfallen English. And that mischievous, broad grin played across his features then, as in empathy with the Spaniards it does now. A smiling king, a very proud Spaniard. He knows how it feels. Those big biceps of his carried it away, back across the Alps to Italy. Now it is bound across the Pyrenees to Spain. As the victorious squad assembles here, you do wonder, as perhaps you might have in Austria 2008, whether this is just the start again of something special for Spain. Ramos and Puyol, Iniesta, Xavi, Fabregas, Silva, a Spanish generation that captivated the continent then and the world for years to come. Those are the names with whom these men grew up, and those are the levels to which they aspire. Luis de la Fuente walks into the company of Jose Villalonga, Luis Aragonés and Vicente Del Bosque as a triumphant Spanish coach on this stage. Picture perfect, and they were perfect. Seven wins from seven. They didn't so much as concede a goal in winning their group. Thereafter, only the hosts in Stuttgart required of them extra time. And when Georgia and in the semifinal France dared to take a lead, they swatted it aside with swagger. They are that perfect blend, new and established, style and substance, science and art, smart angles, speed and beauty. Yeah, absolutely. As I said in commentary, Luis de la Fuente, brave, wants to hurt an opponent in many, many different ways. And I think we've seen that throughout this tournament. They've scored all manner of goals, and they have been simply brilliant to watch. It's the youth, the leaders. Rotary last, but one to come through. Simon, outstanding goal. And so as it fell to Iker Casillas in Kiev and Vienna 12 and 16 years ago. So for this Spanish cohort in Berlin, the honor falls to Alvaro Morata. 60 years since first they won it for a record breaking fourth time, already for the third time in the 21st century. The Spanish sparkled like no one else. The best team won it in 2024. Spain are the champions of Europe again. Fireworks in Berlin, fireworks in Barcelona and Madrid and Valencia and Cadiz of Spain. These celebrations will be mirrored. They've been brilliant. Yeah, congratulations, Spain. Sometimes you don't always get what you deserve, but this tournament has got a thoroughly deserving winning team.
