Can '1 in a Million' Football Moments be REPEATED?

Football

With so many football games being played every day,
sometimes crazy things happen,
one in a million moments that can't be repeated again,
or can they?
Today I've chosen some of the rarest football moments
to see if I can do them for myself,
and if so, how long it would take.
So I headed down to the pitch to start the challenge,
not knowing when I might return.
Also, unbelievably, while we were filming this video,
we had a one in a million moment happen ourselves,
which I'll show you at the end of the video.
Absolute scenes.
But first, we tried out the double bicycle kick.
Right, so we're starting this video off really strong
with the double bicycle kick.
Right, the double bicycle kick.
I've got no idea how we're gonna do this.
Let's just go for it.
So it was clear that this one
was gonna take a toll on the body.
How scary is it though?
Oh!
When you actually think about the chance
of this happening in a match, it's crazy.
But I was confident we'd be able to get something similar.
Oh, that felt close, no?
Look at this for an absolute finish.
Oh, what a finish as well.
That was a good one though.
I think we're gonna get this.
And then after about 50 attempts, we got the shot.
Come on!
Now this was difficult,
but the next one was about to be a lot harder.
Now already, this next one could potentially be
the most difficult one out of the whole video.
He hits every woodwork with one shot.
How long have we got?
I just don't see how this has happened.
I'm trying to clip that near post
and then get the crossbar.
I think I could be all day and never get that.
There's just no chance, man.
There's absolute no chance.
Honestly, I think this could be more than one in a million.
It's absolute joke.
Oh my God.
No, I'm defeated, 100%.
Now as difficult as this was,
I'm pretty sure that our own one in a million moment
that happens at the end of this video
would be even harder to replicate.
So the second one in a million moment has defeated me.
But where this moment was pure chance,
the next one has some type of skill involved.
So I just might be able to get it.
This video has just beaten me, honestly.
Let's go.
So this one wasn't too difficult
and took around 30 attempts.
Yes, come on.
Next up, the famous beach ball Liverpool goal.
There's a lot of factors in play here.
The wind, the beach ball, the ball, the goalkeeper.
Let's see if we can do it.
So I guess the reason this is a one in a million clip
is due to all the factors involved.
The ball happening to enter the pitch at the right time
whilst the player was taking the shot.
Whereas me just hitting the volleyball
so it deflects past the keeper is fairly easy.
So overall, it only took about 20 attempts.
Now this one may not have been too difficult.
The next clip, however, on the surface
doesn't seem too hard to replicate,
but I guess we'll find out.
Next up, we've got this ball pop.
Now, I think this is gonna be a lot harder than it looks.
Right, so with this one, what's important
is picking the right pair of boots.
And I think I've got just the pair.
These should be perfect.
I pumped to the ball as much as possible,
hoping that would give me more chance of popping it.
I started off just by giving the ball
my worst studs up tackle.
I quickly realised that on the cliff
there's pressure from both sides.
So I added this block to lock the ball in place.
Now I've performed this career-ending challenge
on the ball so many times,
but somehow it didn't even pop.
So the fact this happened in a game
really is one in a million.
Whoa, was that it?
No, it's still rock hard.
Yeah, there's no chance.
I thought this one was gonna be relatively easy,
but turns out footballs are stronger than you think.
Okay, now this could potentially be
the hardest one of the video.
It's a penalty kick.
The ball gets hit off the crossbar,
comes back down, and then goes back in the goal.
Keeper's celebrating, thinks he's saved it.
Unbelievable scene.
♪ You've been gone just a little while ♪
♪ But it feels like forever, the time goes by slow ♪
No chance of that going back in the goal.
♪ Oh, I hate how much we've... ♪
Come on, come on.
So after hundreds of shots,
this was the closest I was able to get.
But about a year ago,
I was messing around with an air floater ball and did this.
I don't think it really counts,
but realistically, it's the closest I'm gonna get.
But thankfully, this next one involved a lot less luck
and a lot more skill.
Next up, we've got this unbelievable goal from Lampard.
Looks like he's gonna pass it,
cuts it back in the goal.
Unreal stuff.
Unlike some of the others in the video,
he actually meant it.
So I feel like I've got a chance with this one.

Now, I'm gonna be honest,
I thought this was gonna be very easy
and not really worthy of being in a one in a million
compilation.
This is tough.
I don't know what to do.
But I've gotta be honest,
it took a lot longer than I care to admit.
But after over a hundred attempts, we got it.
Yes!
Come on!
Now, whilst this was a great shot from Lampard,
it didn't exactly require much physical athleticism,
unlike this next clip.
We've seen this one before.
It's super famous, but still amazes me every time.
Scorpion kick from the keeper.
Unbelievable.
I think I could be in for a long day here.
I'm not gonna lie.
Flipping it.
That was close.
That was it, wasn't it?
It's not quite as beautiful as the original,
but I didn't think I was gonna get that,
so we're taking it.
Now, the goalkeeper definitely meant to do this,
but I'm pretty sure this next clip
was just a lack of communication.
We've completed the double bicycle kick.
Now we've got the double free kick.
Now, once again,
I'm not really sure this is worthy
of being in a one-in-a-million compilation,
but let's find out how long it takes.
Aw, mate, you pushed me off a little bit.
Yeah, it's weird.
Oh!
Mate, this is dangerous, this, or that, isn't it?
If I could hit the free kick, it'd be all right.
After about 25 attempts, we got the shot.
Now, watching it back,
it definitely could have been better.
Oh!
Come on!
But with this next clip, I'd leave no doubt
one of the most famous goals of all time,
Maradona's hand of God.
The idea with this one is not just to hit the ball in.
I'm going to see if it's possible to disguise it
like Maradona did, well, a little bit,
and see how difficult it is to get away with it.
What?
This is scary, man.
There's no doubt in my mind
that this looks very obvious that I'm handballing it.
After all those attempts,
this was the best I was able to disguise this goal.
I really don't think Maradona
would be getting away with this in 2023, that's for sure.
Now, I'm really not looking forward to replicating
this final one-in-a-million moment.
Honestly, I hope this isn't possible
because I don't really want to get a ball to the face.
Oh, man, I'm scared.
So for this one, I'd kick the ball into the goal
and then just smash it at the post,
hoping it would hit me back in the face.
Sounds like a fun day, right?
I literally hit hundreds of shots at this post,
and it just made me realise how unlucky Bashuayi was
for this to happen to him.
That was close.
Maybe this actually is one-in-a-million.
It's not happening.
I've tried and I've tried to hit myself
in the face with a football,
but it's just not gonna happen.
There we have it,
and we can definitely put the Bashuayi moment
down as a one-in-a-million clip.
Now, before we end this video,
I told you I had a one-in-a-million moment happen ourselves,
and I'm pretty sure if I had to recreate
everything in this video again,
this would be the hardest.
Check it out.
