We Made it to the Great Wall of China!(BEST Day Trip from Beijing)

Good morning you guys from the Great Wall of China. Can you believe we're here? No, I cannot. It is our last day here in China and we are ending our trip with a bang with of course a trip to the Great Wall. How cool is that? Super excited. We're about to get on a chairlift to go up. We had a private driver this morning which we hired. We booked it through Get Your Guide. It made it so easy. There are so many different ways you can visit the Great Wall but I found this one to be one of the more convenient ones for our quick trip so I'll leave the link down below if you guys are interested. He was super sweet too. He bought our tickets beforehand so we don't have to wait in line. We're about to head up on a chairlift. I'm excited. Yeah, let's go. That was terrifying. Okay here we go up to the Great Wall. Didn't think we're gonna have it to ourselves. No. I guess if we get here early enough. I think it opens at 8. We're actually here like 9 15 so imagine if we got here right at opening too. There it is. It's weird that there's nobody around right? I know. I really felt like it was going to be so packed. We are the only people on this chairlift. Insane views. It was a short ride but very pretty. There's the Great Wall over here. I did not expect all of these mountains. It is so beautiful up here. We got so lucky with the weather. It's like perfectly 75 degrees sunny. And clear. Can you believe we're at the Great Wall? The Great Wall of China. It's so surreal because it's like a place you hear about your whole life and we're here on a random Monday morning. What? We decided to visit the Men Tian Yu Men Tian Yu section of the wall. It's supposed to be one of the most well-preserved and beautiful sections of the wall although it does attract over 1 million visitors a year which is wild but there are busier sections of the wall. Oh my gosh it looks so scary when you come over the edge it just goes straight down. I love your dress. Thank you. Wow there are so many great views no matter where you're looking at. So it's kind of crazy it took over 2,000 years to build this wall and it's over 21,000 kilometers long making it the largest man-made project in the world. It's so amazing that nobody else is here. There's like a handful other people around. It's just making me so excited to be here. Come here. How are you feeling after that climb? It was steep. Yeah it was. My knees are a little bit shaky. So much for the little steps. Oh my gosh I know they turn into big ones. It's literally like climbing. So out of breath but so worth these views. Nice workout. Yeah so basically if you're coming up on the cable car or the chair lift you're going to be coming up with other people but if you just walk like 20 minutes in either direction you have the wall to yourself. Everything is so beautiful but it's hard to imagine what it looks like when everything's in bloom and green because it's pretty dry up here right now. It is so steep. You can put your feet and your hands on the stairs at the same time. It's like climbing. Wow. It's scary going down. It's a lot steeper than it looks people. So much steeper. They're so deep and steep and it's like you're like like literally you just took one step or you just like fall down. Look how quick I am. Back on top where we started. Sammy's too scared to turn around. It's like you're hurting sick. You found a good spot for a ninja. I know we keep saying how cool is this but really how amazing is this. So much history here too. I just can almost feel it's so ancient you know. Yeah. Walking on the Great Wall of China. It's like a super bucket list item. It is. We're so blessed. I still can't believe it or comprehend it you know. I know. So fun. The reason we chose to come to this section of the wall is because it's a little bit further away from Beijing. A little bit harder to get to. There's the public transportation that goes to the Badaling section of the Great Wall. That section gets a little bit more crowded. So I just wanted to update you guys on why we chose this section in particular in addition to the fact that it is the most well-preserved and most beautiful. And they have so many watchtowers too which is pretty rare. Yeah the watchtowers are actually so cool and as the day is like warming up you can go inside the watchtowers and like cool down. They're like really nice and breezy and shady in there. Okay you ready for the exciting ride down? Yes so you we rode up on the chairlift and you can ride down on the toboggan. Toboggan? Toboggan? Toboggan. Oh my goodness people. What is it called? Seriously. Toboggan. There's no gone just toboggan. Toboggan. Okay. Let's do that. How fun was the toboggan ride? Oh my gosh that was so much fun. I loved it whenever we were going so fast around those corners. Hey guys top tip for the toboggan ride is when you get up there they try to rush you through. Like go go go but if one person's slow in front of you which it was for us you had to like go super slow the whole way. So you act dumb you're like go what huh? You just delay as long as you can and then look at the people in front of you. If it looks like they're going to go slow you let more people go until you get a good group that's going to go fast. But so much fun. So sadly this is our last video in China. Wow such an amazing time though. I feel like those four days went by so fast and it definitely makes us want to come back right? Yeah we got the like the perfect little taste of the country that makes us want to explore more. So yes you guys get here early it's like 11 40 now and there are so many more people here.
