Hi this is Shodha and welcome to my youtube channel. I have arrived in this beautiful
country which is literally a small island in the pacific ocean. Welcome to my Taiwan vlog.
It was a total of 14 hours journey from Kolkata to Taipei and in between there was a long like
six hours layover in Kuala Lumpur. The best option I would suggest book a capsule hotel at the
airport. I was always interested in the tiny house concept and this was the first time I got to
experience it staying in a capsule hotel. I slept nicely and also their bathroom is really good. You
can also take shower and freshen up. As an Indian having a US tourist visa getting a Taiwan visa
was pretty easy for me. It was actually free. I applied for the e-visa online and everything
happened pretty easily. Also if you are traveling to Taiwan alone not with any travel agencies then
make sure you apply for this lucky land draw that held by the government where you can earn up to
5000 Taiwanese dollar. My planets were not aligned that day that's why I didn't win anything.
Today my first destination is Longshan temple which is one of the oldest temples in Taiwan.
Apart from the architecture the best thing I liked about this temple is people visiting
here were really devoted. The place is very positive. Later I went for lunch at
Fresco restaurant and the food was amazing. It's a must visit.
Okay at night it's pretty cold so I went back to my room
took some rest and now I have this extra layer. I'm at Ximending market
and this is a really nice place to explore if you want to
do some shopping and want to try some authentic Taiwanese food.
The best thing about the Taipei city is its amazing public transport and well-behaved people.
If you get an easy pass or I pass card like this from 7-11 you can save a lot of money.
It works both in subway and buses. Next morning I went for some more shopping and also I discovered
my new favorite Japanese chicken curry. Then I took the subway and my next destination was
a symbol of Taiwan's rich history and cultural heritage. Built to honor the former president of
the republic of China the memorial stand as a testament to his legacy and the nation's
journey towards democracy. This iconic landmark is a must visit if you are in Taipei city.
Next I took the subway to Taiwan's most iconic building Taipei 101. It used to be
the world's tallest building till 2010. Inside you can indulge in a luxury shopping spree
and you can also book your ticket for the observatory deck though my interest was
something else but caught my attention was this building hosts the most spectacular
fireworks display every new year which I unfortunately missed. Around the building
there's also interesting art installation to explore. This is also one of the poshest area
of Taiwan but the thing I appreciate the most is people don't show off their flashy lifestyle.
People are so polite and nice. People are always there to help you and no fake small talks.
Every instruction in the city are given in cute cartoon forms. Taipei is my favorite city now.
Then I had dinner and in my next video I'll show you the natural beauty of Taiwan.
Till then if you like this video give this video a thumbs up or thumbs down
whatever you like and please do subscribe for part two. See ya! Bye!
