In this video, I want to tell you about a 120,000 bonus point offer on two credit cards that just
came out. How you can earn a $200 bonus after just signing up for another credit card, no spend
required. And there is a secretive Marriott offer that is being teased to holders of the Marriott
credit cards coming out later this summer that we're going to talk about too. Hey, credit warriors,
welcome to the show. My name is Ben Hedges, aka The Credit Shufoo. On this channel, we talk about
credit cards, personal finance, and luxury travel. If you like the sound of that, do subscribe.
So the two cards that have just started this massive 120,000 point bonus are the two Southwest
Airlines business credit cards, the Southwest Rapid Rewards Performance and Premier cards.
The really cool thing about this bonus is that it guarantees you the Southwest Companion Pass
for the rest of 2024 and the whole of 2025. Southwest Companion Pass, by the way,
gives you an additional free ticket for one companion whenever you fly with Southwest,
whether you're booking with points or with cash. We'll talk about why that is guaranteed with this
bonus in just a second. But first of all, let's look at the requirements. So it is 120,000 Southwest
miles on both cards, but the spend requirements are slightly different. So this is one of those
two part bonuses on the Premier card, which is the lower tier card of the two that has a $99
annual fee. You will earn 60,000 Southwest miles after you spend $3,000 in your first three months
and then another 60,000 when you spend a total of 15,000 in nine months after account opening.
On the higher tier card, the Southwest Rapid Rewards Performance card, it's 80,000 Southwest
miles for spending $5,000 in your first three months. So a little higher on points and spend
for the first half. And then you get another 40,000 when you spend a total of 15,000 in nine
months. Now to get the Southwest Companion Pass, you're going to need to accumulate 135,000 Southwest
miles in a calendar year, and then the Companion Pass will be given to you, okay? And you keep the
miles, okay? You can still spend those miles on flights, all right? Now this bonus is only 120,000.
So how does that guarantee you a Companion Pass? Well, when you do the spending for the welcome
bonus, you're still earning miles at the regular point earning rates in whatever categories you do
the spending in. And on both of these cards, the minimum you can earn is one mile per dollar. So
you have to spend $15,000 to get the whole bonus. Well, that would be a minimum of 15,000 miles you
will earn from that spending. You add that to the 120,000 miles. And if you can do simple math, well,
that's 135,000 miles, and that's what's required for the Companion Pass. And if you're spending
in other higher earning categories, like 2x on transit and commuting or whatever, you'll end up
with even more miles. Now this bonus is only available until September 16th, 2024. So I suggest
you get the card soon if you want it. And remember, you have to earn all of those points within 2024
for it to count towards the Companion Pass. So if you waited until September to apply,
and then you got, say, the first half of the bonus in 2024, and the second half in 2025, all right,
you would not earn 135,000 miles in one calendar year, and thus you would not get the Companion
Pass. So I suggest be quick to give yourself as much time as possible. I'll put the links to these
cards below so you can learn more. As always, these are affiliate links. It does really help
us out if you use them. All right, next let's look at the $200 immediate bonus when you sign up for
another popular credit card. And this would be on the Amazon Prime Visa Signature Card. It's just a
$200 Amazon gift card when you sign up. No spend required. Now this is, of course, because Prime
Day is coming up in July. It is on July 16th and 17th. So it's like Prime Days, not Prime Day.
Oh, Prime Day is July 16th and the 17th? Amazon has done this $200 bonus for the past few years,
so we were pretty sure that it was going to be coming on June 27th. When I checked on that date,
which was probably yesterday, depending on when you're watching this, the bonus was showing on
their site. If they're doing the same as previous years, then this bonus will run until July 24th.
If I have a link for this card, I'll put it down below. Otherwise, you can search on Google and
it comes up. And this is a great card. Personally, I think it's a no-brainer. I have it since it
gives you 5% back on all your Amazon spending, but then also Whole Foods, Amazon Fresh and Chase
Travel if you use those two. Personally, I just use it for Amazon. There are a few other 2%
categories like gas and stuff, but you could earn 2% unlimited on the Citi Double Cash or any other
2% card. So that's not really notable. All right, now for our last story of the day, and that is
this secret bonus that is coming out on the Marriott cards from both Chase and Annex. This is
the landing page for it. Look, it's in the cards. Eligible U.S. card members are invited to celebrate
with an exclusive card member offer and enjoy even more travels near and far. Come back on July 18th
to register and see what's in the cards. So this is a bonus for existing card members. I don't know
what it is, but last year they did this offer and it was 10,000 Marriott points for spending $7,000,
which is actually incredibly lame. So I hope it's going to be better than that. But if you have
nothing else better to do and you want to put spending on your Marriott card anyway, it could
be worth it. Or perhaps it'll be a way better bonus than last year and it'll be way worth it.
But if it is the same as last year, you know, it might not be worth it for you. You might be better
off to go and get the bonus on the Southwest card and get the companion pass instead. I'll put the
link to that offer for the registration page on the Marriott cards in a pinned comment below,
and all the links for the other credit cards like Southwest, maybe the Prime card, will be in the
description section as well. And that's where I'm going to leave it for today, guys. Thank you so
much for watching. Please subscribe to the channel for more videos like this. We'll see you next time.
Bye-bye.
