(Ligue 1 2023/2024): Highlights NICE - LE HAVRE

Europe and Ligue 1 status on the line when Nice and La Havre walked out at the Allianz Riviera. Victory for Les Aiglons would clinch a top six finish and an outside chance of fighting for the podium. La Havre were one of only two sides in the bottom half of the table to win last week. Another three points would all but secure their survival. Looking to make it. Back-to-back wins. Three unbeaten to drawing with Paris Saint-Germain following their win over Strasbourg. Morgan Sanson sent a warning signal to the visitors from Normandy. Terrific effort and tip over from La Havre's Arthur Demas. But he was soon beaten. Jerry Boga reading the bounce of the ball. That got him away from LAC captain Aruna Sangante who ended up on the deck. Couldn't block the Ivorian smashing in on 12 minutes. Sixth goal of the campaign for a player that cost Nice 80 million euros from Atalanta. That's two of his last four outings. Francesco Farioli would have been delighted at the break. Still only the one goal over Luca Elner's Normans. Brilliant save although I'm not sure how much Demas knew about it. Teren Moffey sneaking around the back post straight into the face of the visiting goalkeeper. Moffey unable to add to his 11 goals this season. La Havre were desperate to stay out of the relegation chatter. Devin Gura off the bench only to fire over. But in the end Mess would lose on Sunday. Normans three points clear with a better goal difference. Farioli has Nice in fifth. They beat PSG in their make-up match on Wednesday. They could yet battle on the final day for Champions League qualification.
