Hey guys, it's Zung, and today I'm gonna show you
how to make three of your favorite deli sandwiches,
but better.
Thank you to Primal Kitchen for sponsoring this video.
All right, so our first one is a turkey
and avocado sandwich.
So for the bread, I'm just using sliced sourdough here
that I've already toasted up,
and now I'm going to spread on some
Primal Kitchen chipotle mayo.
Flavorful food is everything,
and it's the sauces and condiments
that make the food really flavorful,
and I love this mayo because it's chipotle lime mayo.
It adds so much flavor just to your regular
turkey avocado sandwich.
Primal Kitchen ensures you don't have to compromise
ingredient quality for taste.
Now I'm gonna add our avocado.
Perfect.
All right, so for the avocados,
I actually like to peel it and then slice it really thin.
You can also grab it out with a spoon,
whatever's easiest for you.
I just tend to peel it.
I find that's a little easier for me,
and then just slice it up real thin.
Since I'm gonna use a whole half of the avocado,
I'm gonna do it like this lengthwise,
and I'm just gonna take the avocado,
place it on one slice of bread,
and all you have to do is just go boop like that
and squish it down.
If it kind of sticks out the bottom,
you can always take it and then put the avocado
where there's a little bit of a blank spot,
but this looks pretty good to me.
This way, it makes it easier to bite into.
And then for the next part, I'm gonna add our turkey.
So I always love using smoked turkey.
I feel like it pairs so well with the chipotle lime mayo,
and it's just like the perfect complement.
So if you can find smoked turkey, definitely do that.
And then just stack it like this.
You don't wanna put it like flat like that
because you wanna create volume,
just like how the deli does it.
Nice and voluminous.
And now this is something you probably haven't tried
in your turkey avocado sandwich before,
but I'm gonna add cilantro
because it just pairs so well
with all the smoky flavors going on,
and it adds like a burst of freshness.
Cilantro lovers will really enjoy this.
Non-cilantro lovers, you can leave it out.
I'm actually really big on cilantro in my sandwiches.
Okay, and then finally, we're gonna add some cheese.
For this one, I love the mild nutty taste of Gouda,
so I'm using sliced Gouda.
Close up our sandwich.
Look at that.
So this turkey avocado sandwich is great cold as is,
but if you wanted to take it up another notch,
and if you had the time to do it,
stick it into the oven at 350 degrees
for about five minutes to turn it
into a turkey avocado chipotle melt.
It's delicious.
Oh, this is a good-looking sandwich.
Mm.
The Primal Kitchen chipotle lime mayo
gives it a little bit of a spicy kick.
Not too bad, though, that you can't handle it.
It's just like the perfect amount of heat.
And then paired with the smoked turkey,
the Gouda for the creaminess, and also the avocado,
this is a really delicious sandwich
that you can pack up for lunch
or enjoy for dinner anytime.
All right, our next one is gonna be
a barbecue chicken sandwich,
but I think I'm gonna take it up a notch
like we always do.
So how many of you guys actually get
rotisserie chicken on a weekly basis?
Whenever we're in a bind,
we end up getting a rotisserie chicken,
and it's so great for so many different meals.
And one of our favorite
is actually a barbecue chicken sandwich.
I'm just gonna take about half of the chicken
and shred it up with my hands into a bowl.
Gotta get some of that leg meat.
I am definitely a dark meat person,
but when getting a rotisserie chicken,
I feel like it's always pretty moist all around.
But let me know, do you guys prefer leg, breast, or wings?
I always like taking the skin out too
because I don't really like the texture.
And I'm just gonna go ahead
and save the rest of the chicken
for either a chicken salad or extra protein in my pasta.
So now we're gonna add our Primal Kitchen barbecue sauce.
I have the classic and the Hawaiian barbecue sauces here,
but they also have a golden barbecue sauce,
a mango jalapeno, all which are really delicious.
Today, I'm feeling a little Hawaiian,
so I'm gonna choose the Hawaiian barbecue sauce.
It actually reminds me of the huli huli chicken
that I had in Hawaii once that's super delicious too.
Primal Kitchen has a simple mission,
change the way the world eats
with real food that uplifts and empowers us.
Mm, mm.
Now I'm just gonna mix it up.
The chicken really soaks in all the sauce and the flavor,
but this looks good.
Now we're gonna assemble our sandwich.
So I have most of my sandwich toppings here,
and I'm gonna start by slicing my red onions.
The red onions just give the sandwich
a really nice crunch and, I don't know,
it just goes good with barbecue chicken.
That should be enough.
Set that aside.
And now for the bread, I'm just using sliced whole wheat.
A roll would be really good with this too.
And on the bread,
I'm gonna spread Primal Kitchen's classic mayo
made with real avocado oil.
This is bulk size, and we use this quite a bit.
So we have mayo on one side,
and then I'm gonna hit the other side
with the Hawaiian-style barbecue sauce.
That way you get extra flavor in every bite.
Now I'm gonna layer our cheese.
For the cheese, I'm using cheddar.
You can find smoked cheddar,
you can find sharp cheddar, mild cheddar, whatever.
What is your favorite?
And just use that.
Our barbecue chicken.
And then we have our red onions.
You can add as much or as little as you'd like.
I tend to like red onions in my sandwiches,
so we're going with this much.
And then this next one is gonna add a little bit of crunch
and a lot of interest to our sandwich.
I'm using fried jalapenos.
They're like jalapeno chips,
and every bite gives you that spicy kick
that adds a really nice crunch to.
Close it up.
And again, this sandwich can be enjoyed hot.
I actually think it tastes really great hot,
but I think a lot of you guys
typically bring sandwiches to school or to work
where you can't really heat them up.
Comment below and let me know if that's the case
or if you wanna see hot sandwiches.
Now that's a hearty sandwich right there,
and it's just got so much flavor.
I definitely taste the pineapple in this barbecue sauce,
and I think that this would go so well
with pulled pork or cauliflower bites too.
You guys should definitely try this.
This next sandwich is one of my favorites,
but you're probably gonna have to eat it right away.
It's the tomato mozzarella basil caprese sandwich.
I have an heirloom tomato here
that I'm just gonna cut into slices.
Look how beautiful and vibrant that looks.
I wanna use every part of this tomato,
so I'm just gonna try to cut off the stem, boop.
So now I'm gonna marinate the tomatoes
in a shallow baking dish
with our Primal Kitchen balsamic dressing and marinade.
So typically people think of using balsamic dressing
in a salad, but it makes for a great marinade too,
especially with tomatoes,
because tomatoes are like a sponge
that kind of just soaks up all the flavor,
any flavor that you give it really.
And I love the taste of this
balsamic dressing and marinade with tomatoes.
Okay, I'm gonna pour a little bit at the bottom first
and then pour more on top.
Primal Kitchen offers condiments, dressings, and sauces
with real food ingredients,
so they're made without gluten, dairy, sugar, soy,
or canola oil, just irresistible classic flavor.
This looks great.
Just let it hang out for about 10, 15 minutes
and then we'll assemble our sandwich.
So for the bread, I love using ciabatta.
It's Italian, it's chewy, kind of just,
it's just the perfect vehicle for the sandwich.
I've already toasted it up,
so now I'm gonna spread some mayo on top,
except I have Primal Kitchen's pesto mayo,
which I thought would go so well with this
because pesto with tomatoes, arugula, basil, and cheese
just sounds so good.
I'm gonna slather a thin layer on each side of the bread
and then to act as our bed,
I'm gonna add a little bit of arugula at the bottom.
I just realized this is the first sandwich
where I'm actually adding greens to it,
which is really great.
You guys can add tons of greens into any of the sandwiches
that I just made prior.
Now I'll add our balsamic marinated tomatoes.
Just kind of give it a good shake
to shake off any excess liquid.
And now for the cheese, I love using fresh mozzarella.
So those are the kind that you find at the store
packed with water, not the low moisture kind.
And this one, I like to kind of tear it,
tear it off like this,
make it a little bit smaller, thinner, bite size,
easier to bite into for a sandwich.
Sometimes you can find sliced ones
that are really nice and convenient too,
but I couldn't find one today.
A little salt and pepper, a few leaves of fresh basil.
Close it up.
There's so many good, delicious flavors going on in there.
I love the taste of the balsamic dressing in here
with all the spices that they used.
It really soaked up all the flavors in the tomato.
And then the cheese is nice and soft.
This is really my favorite sandwich.
So I hope you guys never settle for mediocre sandwiches
and make every bite of your food exciting.
