Hello children, let's learn about pigs today. Pigs are very intelligent farm animals but some people
also like to domesticate pigs which means they like to keep pigs at home as a pet.
Pigs have a snout and a chubby body. The snout of a pig is very important. It helps them find food
and makes them aware of their surroundings. In fact a pig uses its nose to dig or push into
the dirt and this is called rooting. Rooting helps farmers as it helps plants to grow.
Now did you know that a pig cannot sweat even in summer? Yes, pigs do not have sweat glands like us.
So they need to roll in the mud to keep their bodies cool. Pigs are also called swines or hogs.
Baby pigs are called piglets and females are called sows. Isn't that sweet that a mother pig
likes to sing to its piglets when it's nursing them. Pigs are omnivorous. They eat plants,
leaves, fruits and vegetables and they also eat bugs. They eat slowly throughout the day.
Pigs have an excellent memory. Like dogs, even pigs love belly rubs. Sometimes pigs use trees
to give themselves a belly rub or just use the bark to scratch themselves.
Pigs love playing with their friends just like you and let me tell you a little secret.
Pigs love to sleep nose to nose with other pigs just like this. Isn't that cute? We hope you
enjoyed watching this video. There are many more animals to learn about in this series
so do keep watching.
