Germany - Road to the Final • 1986

The team Uruguay he plays in Argentina Oh and a bad mistake and an opportunity for Uruguay to take the lead Schumacher is out and the ball is not in Or is it Yes the linesman is running for heaven's sake The linesman immediately signaled a goal I couldn't see it when he hit Mendy There he is a beautiful shot and he goes half left Beautiful Pass Udi Völler That could be something And Alm When he met Mendy Witbarski Wiege And another option But look at these Augenthaler These translations here are already annoying And Alofs And the gate Finally they managed it Thank God and they saw it Neat approach play And Jim Leighton with a Witbarski Store Taking on Willy Miller That is very well defended by Nehry Eamon Bannon in support for him And over the ball for the result after Schumacher's exit Better football in the last minute This is a good hit by Schumacher A much better position for Scotland The pressure is still there And it's Gordon Strachan Oh what a goal Scotland's leadership A wonderful conclusion by Gordon Strachan Beautifully played The angle was tight The injury was very significant But it takes nothing away from Strachan Abertol It is time to measure the circle Leighton A small backward stitch from Alofs And it plays back to him Alofs for Voller The meeting lasted only five minutes The play in which Rudi Voller was offside e balls in this late challenge Leighton moves on And Leighton with another extraordinary stop Before he dealt with an international level Nickle tries his luck His pass sends him forward Can Souness say something to them I have seen him so many times throughout his career Lipmarski Full And Alofs West Germany takes the lead For the first time in the game It didn't seem to be much real danger But no one caught up Alof is waiting in the middle Matthäus And the injury is taking hold He grabs it for Goff Was that the chance they had Beautiful play by Kuhn I would rather stay here But as the Danish manager said I'm not sure if I can trust my players Maybe they can try to achieve the result And here is the chance for Siverbeck Anderson He shakes off his marker for the moment Sören Lerby Oh a great shot Manchester United Jasper Olsen He sends the Danish fans Lerby can come into the middle Laudrup also goes into the middle He brings it back to Olsen The danger is over Laudrup is in the middle Lidvarski comes up He is doing well Lidvarski from an impossible angle Nevertheless the goal by Alos is a good goal for him Oh that's not a bad attempt Jacob with the shooting chance Somewhat of a barge in the middle And Rummenigge At least Bulgaria does not attack anyone But here is Alos They have a team with Matthäus Matthäus Store Away from Siena Halfway through his half Thomas Boyd A goalkeeper And Bruegel is in the middle A patchwork seller Alos Oh that's a great free kick By Klaus Alos He is trying to find Rummenigge In the danger zone What a great goalkeeper Larios is There's no question about it Ron Atkinson That is the most exciting moment for him A superb goal by Magatz And Rummenigge is moving forward As Dolos Kovac flies over the free kick And the chance is here For the first goal Savin He shoots And it was a goal for Mexico Oh and the chance Oh he is moving forward In front of Bremer's line And the goal is in the middle Under goes into the nights With Savin In the area And here is Negreta He is looking for the small Bounce And the chance He shoots Oh what a save That was a great shot And Schumacher and Sanchez Well they take care of each other for the moment Bringt Breedle there That's the circle Hörnitz It's a very bad hill But he couldn't get a direct No he didn't We have one more shot And it's 1-0 The Germans are shooting into the air And he shoots lightly The Hill of Mexico opens again They all applaud the round Yes it's constant there And it's constant to find the nights You see that's the most important When the depth list runs out there is a possibility that it will fly Honestly he shoots right then But the ball flies away from Shajumpa Joy It goes into the night It's going And now the chances must lie with West Germany Servine must shoot And he doesn't shoot Schumacher surely now And that's it West Germany has done it again When it comes to the wreath they must be the masters at the final games And it's Bremer who takes the headshot And he shoots And that's it The goal He jogs to free Stoppira in the middle And here is Platini Chides He stays on the side It's Platini he lifts it over the wall But the power is there Maybe that 's enough here We'll see Rolfe tries to raise the leg And it went into half Chides and Platini Belaf the French goalkeeper The High Noon showdown in a magnificent stadium in Mexico City A tournament that has impressed the world from the beginning And a meeting between South America and Europe in the final of the 1986 FIFA World Cup Argentina the winners eight years earlier West Germany well they seem to almost expect that they are in the final It's their fifth final overall They had won four years earlier in Spain but the problem for the rest is that West Germany then and now always and simply never knows When they were won It was a tournament dominated by the genius of a player who was Diego Maradona And indeed immortality You are now naturally accustomed to these conditions But what a loss it is to still produce top performers Maradona he got a good ball Maradona the first corner for Argentina Flat it's a great ball They have so many threats from the set Argentina And not only the VfB players like Vai Matheus when he was accommodated Behind the referee I think Rummenigge cannot go any further A round for Maradona He is in danger of winning And Bremen knows at West Germany is left-wing Riga when it hits the ground hard Does he exist instead Then to West Germany with all his plans Schumacher comes for him He will not make it Argentina won And of course the threats come from everywhere José Luis Brown won in the FIFA World Cup Final for Argentina A midfielder It's a very good idea one must say What did Schumacher do It's a line Rummenigge has never really felt threatened Maradona is back Beautifully collected Let's go Diego Maradona And Schumacher only won that In truth The goalkeeper did a great job And also Maradona in a sporting manner recognizes that Bregel A tactic is to try to outwit them there He loses Rummenigge He loses Eder too Eder again Bremer once again West Germany looks a bit short-term Valdano He has so much space And he has won Jorge Valdano does it too For Argentina West Germany never came so close to him And they are now very far behind the goalkeeper Now it's a clever play Here is the last pass West Germany tries to play offside And here is the end And it's a good one But they played so well You must also know that West Germany does not think so And they are pressing hard now They are looking for a goal Oh he's found a goal He is here right now Oh it's a wonderful course And it was so close But very well defended Losing Burek for West Germany Help on the way Rummenigge is here And West Germany has won And they are still there And he is the goalkeeper in this tournament at the end What a time what a day to do it And it's game time again Here is the trip You win the first ball in the air He is unmarked in the 6-meter box And it's a pretty pleasant ending He must naturally as he did earlier in the game Maradona can of course end the argument at any moment But again a great comeback And this time Forster wins it What a tournament That was by Maradona It is to win his career Under makes it again Rudi Völler decided it for West Germany in the last 10 minutes They have opened the script It is written in their history And they have done it again West Germany It's 2-2 Oh there goes Bremer's run Absolutely perfect There the goalkeeper is back in danger And Rudi Völler And here comes Argentina again It's Borussiaga Borussiaga An incredible finale What a conclusion Argentina who shook it so deeply when they needed to Maradona set him on the way Maradona the player Borussiaga the chance It's Maradona And Schumacher makes a fantastic hall I think they can only be seconds away West Germany suspicious until the end but won the final Argentina wins the FIFA World Cup for the second time And we will never forget the final to this final here In the Aztec Stadium Won by a wonderful Argentine one of the greatest players in history But that is a player for the years and the captain of Argentina Too good too young in 1978 Frustrated
