龍門寺(Longmen Temple),初名法華寺,又稱惠日院,位於中國山西省長治市平順縣石城鎮源頭村北約1.5千米的山坳裡,始創建於北齊文宣帝天保元年(公元550年),佔地面積5,070平方公尺。
龍門寺坐北朝南,東西寬65米,南北長78米,佈局分三條軸線佈置。中軸線佈置了三進院落,每進院落均設有東西配殿,院落隨地形建造,形成漸進式疊高的形念。中軸線採用對稱式佈局,顯示了中軸線建築在寺院中的尊崇地位、西軸線南前後兩進院落的僧舍和庫院等附屬建築組成,東軸線則南聖僧堂、水陸殿及禪堂、僧舍同合成的院落組成,東西軸線上的建築均南前院、中院和後院部分組成,兩軸線的建築多為明末清初所建。龍門寺集五代、宋、金、元、明、清建築集於一處,是河谷內歷史最悠久、現存文物建築最多、跨度時間最長、石刻史料最豐富的寺院。
Longmen Temple, originally named Fahua Temple, also known as Huiriyuan, is located in a mountain valley 1.5 kilometers north of Yuanyuan Village, Shicheng Town, Pingshun County, Changzhi City, Shanxi Province, China. It was founded in the first year of Tianbao, Emperor Wenxuan of the Northern Qi Dynasty (AD 550 years), covering an area of 5070 square meters.
Longmen Temple faces south, 65 meters wide from east to west, and 78 meters long from north to south. The layout is divided into three axes. Three courtyards are arranged on the central axis. Each courtyard is equipped with east and west side halls. The courtyards are built according to the terrain, forming a gradually stacked concept. The central axis adopts a symmetrical layout, which shows the respected status of the central axis buildings in the temple. The west axis is composed of monks' quarters and treasury courtyards and other ancillary buildings entering the courtyard from the south to the front. The east axis is composed of the south holy monk hall, water and land hall, Zen hall, monk hall and The buildings on the east-west axis are composed of the south front yard, the middle yard and the back yard. Most of the buildings on the two axes were built in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties. Longmen Temple combines buildings from the Five Dynasties, Song, Jin, Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties in one place. It is the temple with the longest history, the most existing cultural relics and buildings, the longest span, and the richest stone carvings in the river valley.
