good morning and welcome back to the
channel Grand Columbia and welcome to
another coffee time
live and I'm feeling a bit
undressed so let's put on the
hat only wear it for this but it's a
it's a really nice hat love the hat
I just don't wear hats all right so
today going to be a little bit different
I'm going to talk um about what Pisa is
it seems there's a lot of
misunderstanding but that's not my main
topic although it could have been um I'm
going to talk about something that
really kind of struck me this week when
I went to U uh took some people to a
coffee Farm that's kind of set up for
for
tourists and I've got a bit of a history
with the
place and while I was there I had one
take and then by the time I left I had a
very different take about a place that
I've been to many times so we're going
to talk about that I have no no news
topics
because they're all boring as hell there
wasn't anything
interesting um I don't know we just
don't have enough news I mean there was
you know you got some deaths and you had
the
L Nas gang a gang of females that have
been extorting uh
farmers at 100,000 200,000 a pop um but
yeah it just wasn't very
interesting you know criminals criminals
caught people
died you know it's
life okay so
um what's going on
rain L has been doing its thing we've
been getting rain and rain and rain now
we've had some beautiful mornings don't
get me wrong but instead of waiting till
2: 3 in the afternoon or into the
evening it's been hitting us around noon
1 2:00 uh one day we had pretty good
downpour that went on for a couple hours
which
is not really
common so and yesterday I had to go to p
and it was torrential downpour around 4
five o'clock but what was nice is that I
approached armania the clouds started to
clear and by the time I got into armania
the roads were actually dry so you know
over the course of a few miles was a
drastic change so that was that was
pretty cool let's take a look I think
our weather cam has turned into a
traffic cam
today but good enough I'm looking at a
lot of overcast
clouds kind of cool Sunday lot of
traffic okay um right now temperatur is
about 70° we have a high of about 75 a
low of about 63 come 5 or 6:00 in the
morning and the peso actually changed
when I first set this up this morning it
was at
4151 and now it's at 4135
and from last week I think we're
about 330 pesos
difference which if you add that up over
the course of $1,000 that's about a $80
increase give or take so that's it's
always cool when U you see that number
get
larger and it's larger just because
um with our
wonderful beloved president that we all
just adore and
worship um he's created a kind of a debt
that isn't typical and it scared some
investors so the peso gets weaker and
and so here we
are okay let's see
um great
outside what the hell is that that's my
note oh okay coffee meeting went to
Annie's again which is in the orb
building complex on the first floor
which is on centenario if you know where
that is and it's almost across the
street from container City just down the
street the equivalent of about a half a
block very nice place and uh some new
people showed up last week and again
this week so it's very cool um one we
got engrossed in a conversation because
we had a couple things from our past in
common including some military things
and um I gave him a ride home he had me
he bought a place here some years
ago but he only comes to visit now and
then so he went up take a look at his
place and he had a couple rooms were
just packed full of boxes that hadn't
been opened but um he's he's he complet
completely redesigned um the place
himself took out a wall it's really nice
looking it's near the uh portelo
Mall um let's see oh yeah back to
Annie's it's a great location I think
we're going to be there the next couple
weeks I think he said and there's
actually an outdoor patio maybe next
week um I I got there before anybody and
I chose inside but if that happens next
week I'm going to see if we can sit
outside it looks if the weather is
halfway decent it looks very nice out
there
um so there's that the car has been
running great uh I do get I I have a
check engine light I'm gonna they're
going to take care of that it I don't
think it's anything serious but um I'm
getting reasonable gas mileage with it
considering I call it the black elephant
elephante Negra it's um cuz it's it's
pretty massive you know in the US maybe
not so much but when you're driving
around here like yesterday in pada and
some of the streets I was in and parking
spaces are made for little cars and uh
it's it you actually have to find one
because I barely fit in the yellow lines
and that's if you if you manage to park
perfectly but then you still have to
kind of figure out how to open open the
doors yeah so it's a it's a it's a thing
here
um but if you're here and you want to
hire me for a car service to go visit to
something I'm up for
hire
um but I can't see myself as a daily
driver let's see this week I went to BU
of Vista I think I got a photo here
somewhere where is it
there that was
um having
lunch and most everything is open to the
outside as was this and um that was a
view from the
outside gorgeous place I've done a one
or two videos on it um so I didn't do
one this time because it pretty much the
same as the last time I did
videos I will tell you one of the
reasons I went there is I wanted to go
check out the San Alberto Cafe that's
the the world's number one coffee last
year and set up a time to maybe tour do
a video of that particular coffee
Farm well there was nobody there uh to
do that but we walked down and said okay
well we'll go down I'll get a mochaccino
and there were three people with
me so we get down there no cappuccinos
no moch inos where you have any juices
I'm looking at the menu who goes juices
no we don't have any um hot chocolate
you have any hot chocolate no we don't
have any hot
chocolate all they had was basically a
pot of coffee like at a truck
stop what's going on I mean this was
this was a holiday um last Monday very
busy and they had coffee so you know it
wasn't like they didn't they ran out of
coffee it was all pretty weird they you
know the people working there didn't
really want to explain they're just
they're just kind of laughing about it I
mean not at us in particular it's not
like uh you know some of you jump to the
conclusion well it's a gringo thing well
the people with me weren't um I was the
only one that spoke any English and the
people behind me were definitely
Colombians and they got the same
thing so it was you know it was a touch
disappointing but it it doesn't matter
you go to bu be so you can't help but
smile anyway
um let's see let's take a look at the
let's take a look at the chats uh make
sure you tell me if you can hear me okay
I'm always concerned Juka thank you for
the contribution I appreciate it and
greetings from Finland how are
you Mr Rob good morning for Fort
Lauderdale 326 days when last we
322 I can't keep track Turtle good
morning earthlings from beautiful
downtown
sooro I think he's probably cheerful
when he sees the the U peso get better
for us um I know he's been a little
worried about it
but you just got to go for the ride you
know you can't get upset about these
things uh you can't really Panic it's
going to go up it's going to go down
the it's just how it is and it's very
difficult to predict when you get an
immediate jump like we had last week you
can actually pinpoint it but it's never
a single factor it's always a multiple
array of things what's going on in the
US isn't helping you know the amount of
debt it's not helping us it's certainly
helping countries like
Colombia uh Charles Wes thisas from New
York City how you doing back in in
Columbia this
Friday
awesome Mr Mike Jarvis how you doing
good morning we got to get together
again Charles getting nervous
one one not sure what that is one
ya
um nothing to get nervous about it's
awesome
Place Renee how are you doing hello from
Brussels the capital of the world right
right Charles oh here we go one year to
final move trying to sell all my things
to figure out what I can bring yeah
that's uh took me three
months I had already sold my house a
couple years prior and I was living in
an apartment but I still had I had way
too much stuff and whittling it down
it it I all I could tell you don't try
to do it all at once kind of categorize
and it I laid out I decided to come down
in two big suitcases so I bought brand
new top-of-the-line Samsungs they were
hundreds of dollars each but they're
awesome I still have them they're like
brand new and they would zip and
expand and these were the largest that
you could put on an
airline so I got those two and um set
them aside and I started laying out you
know what what's important to me a Shu
knife definitely important what about
the all the knives I don't really need
all the knives uh books that hard books
are the hardest thing you know I got
basically a house
library and even
books even books that I hadn't read
didn't necessarily get priority over
books that I have read but absolutely
loved and just wanted to kind of keep
them with me so that it was really a
process almost all the books I had I had
read but I kept them for a reason you
know I I just liked them around and I
would reread once in a while or refer to
a fair amount of my books were uh
somewhat technical so that was difficult
took me a long time to wh it down to
eight or 10 books that I finally came
down with cuz books are really heavy uh
clothes no big deal you know I brought
down a whole bunch of black t-shirts and
some black BL uh black blue jeans black
jeans and uh good to go there um
some uh half ankle motorcycle boots and
um a pair of shoes so anything else I
got you know since I've been down here
but um yeah it's it's hard to let go
but it's it's awesome once you
do uh Michael good morning from Los
Angeles how are you
doing um I hope your favorite restaurant
hasn't closed down on
you Mr SII please GM from Seattle good
morning in case of emergency good
morning all heading to a b terminal in
Armenia in a few minutes movers arrive
tomorrow
nice Libby good morning raining here in
quka now too all night mostly likely too
temperature is 55 yeah it kind of gets
pretty cool in in quka it's not it's not
quite what they advertise but you know
they say well it's Spring
weather but if you think about it spring
where I mean spring Upstate New York or
Maine um that can mean
40° so Sebastian when are you coming
back here we go Chicago is the best city
in the world summer is great Florida is
underwater and 10 hurricanes on their
way and most USA is under Fire next
seven
days well that's a way to look at it
this is Charlie congrats on the car if
you get a chance look into a rearview
mirror dash cam usually comes with a
rear cam easy way to capture b-roll for
your videos as well as little extra
security yeah I have I just can't um I
can't swing it right now my old
um version 5 uh
GoPro I've got uh I'm setting it up to
put up on the dash going forward and so
I'll use it for
that um Judy good morning all
and can hear you fine I hope so you know
it's sometimes I'll go through these
things and find out five minutes later
that uh there was a
problem Mr Ben Lake good morning from
your South he's nebor he's my neighbor
in the building next door it's probably
got 30 feet between
us uh let see Joel good morning from
medene how you doing Mark hello from
near
alala how are you
doing uh let's see Libby I have too much
stuff it's scares me I love to keep my
books most of them I did not ever read
yet clothes no problem to get rid of can
get them cheap in Columbia most of it
but it's very hard yeah it it's it's
tough it's tough sorting things out
worst part is my two dogs when moving
will save some money when in the US I
hope all right let's get to um let's get
to our
first sort of topic this was kind of a
last minute thing I just grabbed some
photos and threw it together but um it
occurred to me this week in talking to a
few people that Pisa is kind of a
misunderstood thing they think first of
all it's the people
Imaging and well that may be
true it's it isn't really
uh first of all Paisa is is kind of an a
bridge version of the word
Pisano uh it's country folk
countrymen um the Pisano there's a
country folk and they come from a group
of people that came to Colombia out of
the um Bosque region near um between
Portugal Spain you got that um the
Bosque region
where um the people are just kind of
quirky they almost speak their own
language uh they have different
foods well they settled here and pises
of today they're of a mixed race but
genetically they're from the you know
those original people that came from
Spain
um so
let's see let me show you got I drew up
a quick on a
map this is generalized because people
kind of move around and so it's not
necessarily encapsulated but basically
it runs from around medine to around
C and it includes areas of ralda which
is p is in um Calis which is manalus is
in and so that's the you and medine all
points you know between me and them and
so that's the the general region and
again there's overflow kind of goes off
into different things but um that's my
map you'll probably see different Maps
you know show kind of a broader
thing when you say Paisa what do most
people think
of they think of this this kind of a
famous dish Benda Paisa and if you look
here you got beans you got ground beef
you got chiso that sausage you got um
eggs white thing at the bottom that
brown thing that kind of Curves that's U
plantain You Got Rice under there you
got cheich your own kind of a slab of
bacon crispy
fried and then you got that round ball
looking thing that's a bit
crusty on the top let's see here here we
go right up there that's an an AA that's
it's how they were here they weren't
those cardboard things and these are
quite tasty they're kind of uh uh moist
and soft
inside put butter on them or put a piece
of cut them in half put a piece of
cheese on them they're steaming hot um
you know quite good
sadly people that come here they think
of uh aapas as something that's tastes
like cardboard because a lot of the
stuff they throw out there came from
some Factory and it tastes like
cardboard so they say BHA Pisa but
that's not what pisas means it's just
kind of a popular food dish but there's
a reason you look at this thing reminds
you kind of almost of English breakfast
you got uh you know three meat items
you've got a couple carb items three
carb items you got the avocado
Agate this is what this is what would be
a very hearty meal by any standards you
generally if you get if you get a
traditional one you I can't eat it all I
it for me it'll be dinner that night or
even the next day um it's a lot of food
and it reminds me of the the Amish the
Amish have a very fattening diet they
use uh lard in their pies and I mean
they don't scrimp because it's all about
calories because they spend all their
time out working in the fields they need
those calories you know they might pack
away in one meal 5,000 calories but
they're burning them up uh you don't see
fat
Amish well it was the same here so this
was a traditional dish and that was the
reason why they're going to be out and
they need to
eat but some of the
characteristics all these towns that you
see all this painted decoration that's a
Pisa culture thing that's not a Colombia
in general that's a Pisa culture now it
is spread but when you go to I think
this is in medine it's I mean um
um oh help me
help me help me help me hardine I think
this is
hardine um it's there it's in salento
it's in fandia it's you see it in a lot
of towns in the Paisa region and I chose
this particular photo because you see
horses because that's a characteristic
you'll see people riding horses in out
in the country or in these towns it's
not for show It's Not For Tourists it's
because it's what they do and and uh
you'll see horses pulling
wagons it's you know that's the culture
of of Paisa another iconic image that
represents Paisa is the Willies
Jeep uh this picture I took I think
almost eight years
ago but uh Willie's Jeep is
is it it's
it's as Colombian as apple pie is to the
4th of July U Willie's Jeep says it all
if you if you want to pick up girls buy
yourself a Willie's Jeep it's like a
chick
magnet and a Colombian tell me that um
but it's true if you ask every girl you
know it's like what do you think of that
think oh my God yeah okay um again here
very colorful that's that's that's a pip
a thing and there's a certain
look right here is very typical uh Paisa
now it isn't necessarily always a
Colombian flag uh colors but it's
something along these lines it'll be a
scarf uh very often just kind of draped
over the shoulder or a poncho it'll be a
hat of this design very lightweight uh
kind of keep the sun off but not cause
your head to
uh to sweat this is a working man's
outfit this is a guy who would you know
go pick coffee beans um it's it's all
about working on the farms in the fields
picking coffee uh milking the cows it's
that's that's what Paisa is all
about
um they
have it's become more homogenized but
they have kind of a
distinctive
language they'll have certain words but
they come in Pockets remember we're in
the Andes and so we get these pockets
and whereas today because of Internet
because of travel it's really
homogenized but if you go back when I
was here before go back even 20 years
ago and further you would have pisas and
medine not understand words that pisas
in in Pera were
using because it'd be so isolated
um but they also have a very
distinct way of talking and to me it's
it's it's
whining so if you hear that that
rhythmic
whining you're hearing in particular
females that's that's Paisa
origin everything about Paisa is awesome
but that kind of that kind of drives me
nuts all right we got some more uh
comments here let's
see uh Ben L home of
BBVA
BBVA okay isn't that a
bank um Charles you have big solar setup
here we'll need to get rid of have not
seen solar power stuff in Colombia would
be great when they cut the electric know
of any reasonable companies there no I
don't know anything about it but they
have solar here um I don't think they're
big on the windmills but uh I see solar
panels now and
then check out blessa for
solar um yes Mark thank you I I know
nothing about it because I don't care um
doesn't it doesn't affect me
but whatever you have in the US it's
likely you're going to see here this
isn't as backwards as people want to
make it out to
be although they can't they can't design
a website that works for the life of
them all right so let's get to the this
main topic here and try something new
today let's see
is it going to
work where is
it I'm looking I'm looking going I
accidentally delete
it let's hope
not pained
B here we go
why is it not showing
up this is weird it was working this
morning
right let's see let let me turn this
off there we
go there we
go
okay I mentioned I took this picture um
seven or eight years ago but if you
notice to the right it says rayuka this
is a coffee Farm that's right near
Armenia uh kind of need a car to get to
it but
um they they do tours and seven or eight
years ago when I went there it was it
was free it was family members uh one of
them we we talked in the front a friend
of mine took me there somebody I've
known for 20 some years and he took me
there and I met some of the family
uh they made me some coffee we sat
around I didn't understand a word
anybody was saying but then they cook me
up on a little tour of the place and it
was pretty cool and they processed the
coffee
there um that was 7 or8 years
ago then I went the next time I went was
um I think it was 2019
and at that Char time they were charging
a small
fee and you know made sense and there
were more people and I started seeing
advertising like in the mall you'd see
on these um flat screens I saw
advertising for the place then Co
hit and I went during
Co and uh during Co they they're doing
the mask and all the separation all that
kind of
nonsense but the fee had increased of
course but now they had um an actual
cashier
station um got a photo of it here
somewhere don't know where it is
nothing's going to be in order all right
we'll stop here for a
minute
um so that was the extent of it I don't
remember the
amount well I went again and I went a
couple times in between I don't remember
those were particular points that I I
remember
um last week I went and I took uh three
people with
me so we pull into the parking lot which
you can see
here and there was a fee to park and
that kind of really surpris me because I
was thinking of something else if I'm
not concentrating I don't get what
people are saying and he was trying to
hey charging you what why you know I'm
parking I'm coming in here I'm going to
pay
well parking fees so you got people
watching the parking lot it wasn't a lot
it was 5,000 pesos a dollar quarter and
whatever but it was a surprise so that
was something new so then I get to the
the Turn
Style and
um the fee was kind of kind of
considerable um yeah there's parking you
actually see my car back there but if
you looked hard uh those my my guests
that I took to check it
out and there's
our iconic Willies
Jeep photo op they have these little
concrete animals now that didn't exist
before and here you have this uh little
maze and you got the cashier window and
so I paid um you know for the entrance
fee uh I think it was 45,000 a
person and 5,000 a Parks it's you know
it's not
bad but then if I wanted a
bilingual um
guide it was a for
45,000
more but the bilingual guide would would
only speak in English he would not
repeat it in Spanish
so then it would be for me not the three
of them well I've already been there I
knew everything that was going to be
said plus I understand you know maybe
half of what people say and so I said
well it doesn't make sense but that
surprised me too I mean it's like it it
started to feel like we're getting
nicked and dimed here it's very touristy
there was a million people there you saw
the parking lot was basically
full um and then at the end it reminds
you of amusement parks where at the end
you go to this this place it's like the
end of your tour and they have this room
open open walls of course with benches
attached to the ground um like um like
baseball benches you know out on the
field they're attached to the ground and
you sit there and they have big screen
and they start going through photos and
you don't know I don't know where the
camera was didn't know about it but they
have photos and you can pick out the
photo of you and and buy the photo which
I I've noticed is actually becoming a
popular thing in Colombia but I was just
reflecting that you know in 2017 I think
was the first time I went it was
basically free and then you know there
was a small admission charge then it was
a you know a bigger fee and it was a
little more formal and then um you know
we started adding on all these extras so
I have to tell you at first it it felt a
little
annoying you know I would prefer it just
be one fee but you know all these chairs
those thing didn't exist before and as
the day went on these things actually
filled up with groups of people our
group had probably 40 people in it that
was a a bit of a shock to
me yeah that's that's the group and
behind us there was another group not
far behind but I want to point out you
see this walkway with nice railing
everything was kept up well if you if I
I I thought I had a picture somewhere of
the walkway every every other diagonal
block of of that concrete has uh their
name and logo in it
um there's a couple additions there's a
tower a viewing Tower that's uh pretty
substantial thing it's it's it's about
the size of that patio you can see in
the upper middle of this picture but it
it kind of goes up and it's got stairs
that kind of kind of wind around go up
um a lot of in
infrastructure was invested into this
place and this thing although this has
been there for
um I think I think I probably first saw
it around
2019 I don't think either I just they
never showed me or didn't
exist um back in my first visit I'm
guessing it probably didn't exist and I
think what they're trying to do is
create a value added and I have a video
somewhere about this place that actually
shows a lot more detail but this thing
goes on the length of this building
inside and it's all animated you have
all these little cars running around the
track you got little people moving and
picking the coffee and it's it's like a
scene and then another scene another
scene you know picking the coffee and
processing the coffee and bagging up the
coffee and all of that it's um it's it's
pretty awesome it's it's it's a
highlight actually and um you I'm sure
I'm sure it's in the the video I took of
this in the in the past be worth digging
it up you know you got a little cow
walking around with somebody behind them
right there uh this was another walkway
I remember this one this was kind of a
muddy path and it's all a nice concrete
now and some of it it was kind of up and
down and some of these walkways are they
were leveled out also so it's a lot it's
a lot easier it's a lot friendlier to
walk on these things uh there was
nothing really to have to really hike up
and you you know you're on the side of a
mountain the way it was originally you
know there were probably people that it
it was a little much for them maybe they
wouldn't go they they've accommodated
that and something else I want to say
about
this is let's see
there we
go um I had it working perfect this
morning I don't know why it's acting up
now but
um something else that's added to
this it's a formalized tour now before I
was just kind of walking through in
conversational even on the video that I
took it was just me and another person
and walking through and he spoke English
most
people there seem to speak a little
English and which is surprising but
we're walking through and they pointed
out certain things well now on this on
this tour it's formalized they have
these stations and they talk about the
origin of coffee and uh then different
plants and how they grow them from
Little Sprouts and and so they kind of
walk you through the whole thing it's
it's very well done
it's some information about coffee is
anecdotal nobody knows for sure certain
things but I noticed that they were very
careful about selecting the most likely
um example so I appreciated that and
they in infused a lot of humor and a
fair amount of audience
participation I could say I got picked
on a little bit about being the
Americano you know um it was humor it
was done in all in good fun thankfully
because I understood what he was doing
otherwi if I didn't know I would think I
was being mocked you know but that
wasn't the case and I wasn't the only
one that they would kind of kind of
Select and and go back to but um it was
all very well done and so at the end
where I felt I almost
I hate to say that I felt like
resentful like I was being nickel and
dimed like I said earlier but by the
time this was done and I saw how much
they' put into this how much they've
invested and I saw this around covid
where a lot of the groundwork of this is
done and portions of it was done now the
thing is built out I don't know if
there's any more that they need to
do uh there there's one project I saw I
didn't go over there and I think that's
a future thing but it's so well done
there's a lot of expense there and they
had a lot of employees they probably on
any given day I'll bet you they have 20
or 30 employees there directly related
to this operation I don't mean the
people out picking the coffee but this
this touristy kind of uh thing and and
the other thing is it is actually a
working coffee farm so everything about
it was real it was authentic it was just
done in a way to be more organized more
comfortable and be more informative it
was it was very informative if if you
only know somewhat about coffee I mean
I've been studying now for a couple
years so I I I knew everything he was
talking about and a lot of you probably
would also but if if you've never really
kind
of you know picked up a book on it or or
really done much research you just like
your coffee you would get a ton out of
it there's a lot of good
information um and so I changed my those
feelings and I felt kind of embarrassed
for even thinking or feeling that way
there's a lot of value for for the money
and for everything that they've invested
for all the people that they have there
to try to you know make it a good
experience for people you know I can
almost feel ashamed for feeling like
they were nitpicking the only thing if I
were to advise them make it make it a
one price because you the only reason I
felt that way is because I was kind of
nickel and dime you know can you pay for
Park pay for this pay for that pay for
this and it's like just make it one
price and that's it um they they had
things like The Wristband you know you
put the wristband on that relatively new
you know so they're trying to make it
like a like a theme park and they're
trying to grow it I'm sure they have
visions and I appreciate that too people
that want to U you know grow and
progress and create this little Empire
and they and they're and they're doing
it now I will say about the
coffee I've said this all the time you
can't get bad coffee and cillo however
on the scheme of amazing coffees that we
get to drink every day
in that bucket of amazing coffees
they're very average now they they would
be superior to a lot of coffees in
general and of course when I say that so
much of that is subjective but um
objectively Can Deo coffees are pretty
Superior when you have the top 10 four
of them in the world are out of this
little Department of
candal I mean what are the odds that's
so we have amazing coffee here and
there's reasons it's not like it's not
an accent there's particular reasons for
it
um but this it didn't blow me away but
it was good coffee and so they they give
you coffee uh give you little sample
cups you can get small medium or large
they didn't charge you for that um so
you could you could actually have all
the coffee you wanted I'm guessing um at
times they have shows it wasn't when we
were there I don't know what the sched
would be for that I didn't ask cuz I
didn't care but they'll have women
dressed up in the traditional uh fluffy
white and colorful outfits doing some
traditional dances and they'll have guys
there with uh horse whips that you know
dancing around and I Saw V some video
clips of
it
so and there's other things that I
notice but having never seen them I
don't know but there's there's more to
it even than what I said so my feeling
now is that's probably a great if you're
going to come here and visit one coffee
farm and I've been to a number of them
but I would say that might be the one to
go to because it's very educational
you're going to see most aspects of
coffee they're even into the natural and
washed and uh you know different things
they talk about Tabby beans and so
they're into some of the things are
considered more Progressive in coffee uh
growing now you know the fermenting so
the all of that is there but you get to
walk on relatively comfortable walkways
and you're not stepping in mud puddles
and you're not climbing any Hills and
you know when you're doing a tour for a
couple
hours you don't really need that stuff
now a lot of these coffee Farms that's
what you're going to get so if you're
more hardcore there's that but I think
this is a great place to go even though
you could say it's
touristy it's touristy for a reason it's
because they put together something
that's really nice it's it's really good
it's very
educational a lot of humor um you know
so yeah my feelings about completely
flipped all right let's see what uh we
got a bunch
of comments here let's see where we're
at let's say good morning Dallas Texas
you look great I don't know who you're
talking to but oh and capitalism comes
to Ruka
yeah I can't remember the cuka and
rayuka there's a meaning and it's kind
of like a dirty joke it's like a dual
meaning
and and what you find on the internet is
not that um but I don't remember it was
they told me way back when it was more
family kind of thing and and it's their
tongue and cheek joke and I just don't
remember if any of you know let me know
uh I actually wanted to ask last time
but these were all they were all just
employees that just weren't weren't part
of that so uh good morning Happy
Father's Day thank you I had a really
nice
really I won't read it but it was the
sweetest thing that was um given to
me
um that
um almost had me choked up it was it was
so so
awesome uh went to a water park in
M was like that nice but 6 to
700,000 for five people entrance food
and beer yeah yeah some of these things
can
be but you know it's it's it's the way
of the world and sometimes you're going
to go to these and it's like I'm
disappointed what did I get for my money
and then you go to play like you go to
the Coffee Park here it's an amusement
park but it's more than that it's a
coffee theme park they have shows and
there's a lot of different things going
on if you don't want to ride one of
their I think seven roller coasters of
different types um there's other things
that you can do you know if
you're I don't know I'm 70 but I don't
feel that generally I go there I going
to take the roller coaster I don't like
roller coasters much anymore but I get
on the roller coaster I'm fine I mean I
was a pilot so all the loop-de-loops
they don't bother me it's not like I'm
going to throw up uh they just bore me
but if you're not into that
uh if your if your metabolism is even
slower than than mine then you know you
can go sit down and watch uh some of
these shows I remember I went to this
one it was about orchids that was it was
pretty awesome but it's not like one
there's different things it's a it's a
large Park it's also got some areas
where you can kind of walk through and
see some uh original coffee processing
equipment and like little museums and uh
h
and models and you know so there there's
a lot of things going on there including
some restaurants
so it's well worth going and the money
for it which I don't remember now I'm
thinking it might be 880,000 pesos
something like
that I I think it's a bargain for you
know for what's there um it was there 20
some years ago when I lived here nowhere
near to the extent of what it is now but
um it was there and it was pretty
awesome back then
so don't be afraid of tourist you know
people say oh I don't want to do that as
tourist well think of it this way it's
tourists for a reason and if you don't
do that you're missing out on why that
became touristy there's something
special about that which is what caused
it to become touristy I've said this in
the past but I I think it's I keep
hearing it and I think it's a good
reminder you know it's like I want to be
authentic so I want to see everything
authentic as it is I don't want to see
touristy where you know it's make
believe well they're not Disney here
that coffee Farm it's not make believe
it's all it's all real it's just done
for your convenience for your comfort uh
the coffee Park yeah you got all these r
and things because hey it's fun
especially you know you're a teenager
skipping school and you know you're out
riding the roller coasters all day it
doesn't get much better than that right
um but there's there's reasons these are
popular and and I highly recommend you
don't skip these things and if you're
just out for things that I've lived past
out for the adventure I mean I've had
these things in my life you want to go
hang gliding if you want to go uh what
do you call it uh ring the zipline you
know across the canion that's you look
down it's like 2,000 ft down to the
bottom uh you want to go bungee jumping
all that stuff is here it's not me
anymore it was I I've done those things
I mean I used to jump out of airplanes I
used to fly
airplanes you know my best friend was an
acrobat pilot and uh we'd fly together a
lot and never threw up but yeah gets
challenging so I've done those I'm not
there anymore but if you are it's here
also and if you want to go hangliding
you're going to probably F find other
tourists there that doesn't take away
from it being hangliding fun you know
it's just how are they going to stay in
business if they don't get more people
to come come you know there that's what
keeps it going for the next year and the
next year uh
so take out of your mind this idea I
don't want to go see something because
there might be tourists there and go see
them they're cool they're highlights
they're awesome all right we got any
uh I know I get preachy don't I and shut
the hell
up and I saw a bunch of people drop off
because uh you know who likes getting
preached at but if you got any comments
if you have any questions say it now
because we're coming to an
end hold on just a second
