(Laliga 2023/2024): Highlights GIRONA - CÁDIZ

Host third from bottom, Girona who have lost just once at home all season, a dreaming of Champions League qualification. They can move 10 points clear of Athletic with a victory between him and his compatriot Lucas Pires. The corner is played short and worked to Savio. What a cross and Erik has scored an early goal for Girona and it is no more than they deserve. What a clever corner routine. The worst way in which he can get one. This is running out towards Yangel Herrera and Dovby has his goal ruled out. Seemed to know he was offside, tucked it home just in the end. Once you have the ball the only thing you think about is trying to get to the to the other box quickly because you you don't know when you're... Wonderful flick, special goal, a long spell of possession, total control. Final few seconds of the half, Gazzaniga goes long and it comes through to Savio. Savio off the bar in what is surely the final act of the first half and Girona would be out of sight. I'm sure you can get a lost ball. And there's a chance for Pires. Kept out by Gazzaniga but caddies are getting closer here. Out only as far as Solis and now Miguel's low drive to Dovby. La Liga's top goal scorer finds the net again and with 20 minutes to play that surely guarantees a win for Girona Navarro spinning away from Solis and finding Chris Ramos. Ramos! Side netting. A teammate has created most of the danger for Kadid. In it goes and there's the goal surely. What a save by Gazzaniga. Escalante claims it crossed the line and it did. Caddies have a goal back. Girona protest. Find another two goals late on. Porto's giving chase. Porto's got their first and Porto scored. The three-goal cushion is restored almost immediately. An error in judgment from Ledesma. This victory for Girona guarantees their place in European competition next season. They've beaten Cadiz by four goals to one. Eric Garcia, Ivan Martin.
