We escaped the snow yesterday in Phoenix and now it's looking pretty good out here.
Clear and cool. Gonna go meet up and ride with Sid and Mackie once again today.
The kryptonite lock is doing its job. Okay I think I've got everything I need. I try to keep
everything together. It's almost easier on a road trip to not forget anything because it's like okay
it's either in the car or it's right there in the hotel like not that big a deal. When you're home
it's like okay this is over here, this is over here. Keep it all together. I haven't actually
been here in the light of day yet this trip so it's nice to see the red rocks in the background.
Beautiful. We've parked in a church. Mackie got permission. The other parking lot was
really packed so we're setting up here getting the bikes ready. The adventure van. If you guys
didn't watch the past video it was an adventure. We did an awesome ride in Phoenix, South Mountain
and more adventure today in Sedona. I think I'm going short sleeves. It's uh it's nice enough.
Today's nutrition of choice. $1.50 fruit slices from the old uh oh it's got a little sugar sound
in there from the old grocery store. I also mooched another pack of scratch labs energy
chews from these guys and they're not even sponsored by them but they're they're really
doing a good job. These things are awesome. I've never seen these osprey packs. Yeah.
Are they new or? They're running packs. We've been trying to get them to make this basically
a riding pack for like three years but they're never gonna do it but you can still get it and
it's basically the best like riding pack ever. It's the Duro and Dyna series. The Duro is the
men's one, the Dyna is the women's. Okay. But like we like them because they're so snug that like
this is full and it doesn't really go anywhere so descending like your pack
stays on you which is really cool. Suit them up. Roll out. No drone zone. Interesting.
All right we're rolling. Pretty sure this is us. Mackie leading the way again. Yeah I gotta pull
my phone out. How do you guys upload your videos if you're always out traveling? Oh we do it on 4G.
Yes. The wi-fi at my parents house sucks. Yeah. We tried to do a live in town.
Oh that's tight. I put 30 psi in the tires. Normally I'm running 25
but uh keep the balloons inflated for these rocks. Because apparently you should ride
all of these this direction. Okay. We'll make a loop and then if we want to do Slim Shady we can
go back up and do something. Sweet. Slim Shady song stuck in my head. Brutally. It's like a virus.
Yeah some of these spots definitely would be the worst place to be in a rainstorm.
I'm glad it's not raining today. This is not the kind of dirt you want to ride. That's true.
We'd all be carrying our bicycles out. Yeah. We've made it to the high line. Cliffs are common.
Did we count as experts? Of course.
He really knows it all.
Exactly the same thing. Which is why I'm standing here. So you're riding along and when you go
when you do that it means you're in either the hardest or the easiest gear and everyone
could be like you're granny gearing. So what I want to do is like try to hack it
so that when I get into the hardest gear it goes like dum-da-dum. Oh wow. Awesome views.
Oh hello. How's it going? There's a bunch of walkers behind. Okay. Oh that's a cute dog.
All right. Cliffs are common.
I find it very strange that now these glasses are falling down my head a lot.
That was the problem with my 100% glasses and now these big old smiths are doing it.
Something about my nose change. Maybe this helmet's a little different. That's why.
Yeah. Big time photo op. Who has bigger guns?
Sid's working on some cactus spines over here. She was just showing this adventure medical kit
that looks pretty dang sweet. I'm doing this as a note to self to buy this on Amazon.
Oh and we're going up on the wet stuff. Oh I made it. Nice. I did not.
Oh that was treachery at its finest. Oh ----.
Dicey. Reset. Trying not to break.
Holy moly we're on top of the world right now.
Yeah that's a look at. It is not the way we are going. Oh I think right here. Oh it is the way
we're going. Okay I'm going back. I want to ride into it. Cliffs are common. Feeling good. Yeah.
I really think I'm learning a lot just following Mackie. He's got some great skills and he's going
slow enough that I can actually keep up and see his lines and copy. Yeah. Oh yeah. Yeah.
And a right turn. Don't look that way. Oh man.
That'll tingle your jubilees. Yes indeed. I finally met someone who shoots as many
snot rockets as me. Sid. We're snot rocket buddies. I hate hearing it back on video though.
I always try to edit it out. It's just so gross. A little punchy. Yeah. That thing is an
intimidator if you look at it too long. Keep it rolling. Yeah you got into some of that.
Awesome. Holy ----.
Incredibly intimidating. Okay so does this show how steep it is? Does this give you guys an idea
at all? Hitting that white dot is really the line and then it rolls. There's no wheel catchers or
anything. You can tell I'm completely convinced. Psyching myself up. Okay. Smooth. Oh that's a big
roll. Oh dang I feel good about that. Holy moly. This thing. Yep. You got this. You got this.
That was beautiful. She stopped dead stop on a really tough part. Don't lock it up.
Okay. High line.
Oh the high line for sure. Sid just went straight down the center. Into the gully.
The confidence I have on this bike is quite nice. It doesn't make you a superman but
I just feel like I can hit stuff pretty hard. A mistake eraser as they call it.
At least we know we did the trail in the right direction. Yeah that deserves high fives. That
was so much fun. One more. That was real. I can feel the healing powers of the vortexes
pulsing through my skin.
Yes. On the hunt for some crystals. I don't think you get the proper vortex power without the
crystals. I know. Usually the crystals double the vortex power. I can still feel the vortex though.
You know. Yeah so Brian when do you know about this vortex thing? I don't know. No I don't know
anything about it either but I feel it. That's the thing. I feel it so you don't need to know.
I see it with my third eye. Hope you guys on Patreon are enjoying the extended cut
of this amazing ride today. You guys make this stuff happen. You make it possible for me to
drive 13 hours, fill up the tank, stay in a hotel, ride with pro enduro riders.
This whole thing would not exist without your help.
Oh he's gone. So not only are Sid and Mackie pro enduro riders, they're also fellow YouTubers.
I got a link in the description. Head over to their channel. Check them out. They're traveling
the world. They're racing. They're making it work. Van life. We're gonna go for a little longer.
I'm gonna go try to climb up to the top of Slim Shady. Come back down and call it a day.
Mackie said we've only climbed a thousand feet of elevation. We've been out for a couple hours.
Earlier we had turned left. Now we're going straight.
Yeah. Hell yeah. Hell yeah.
Wow. That's a hell of a huck. If you were the real Slim Shady, you'd be able to huck it.
Let's go. They see me rolling. They hating. Patrolling. Trying to catch me riding dirty.
I don't know how that got in my... maybe because of the mud on Sid's back.
Yeah. A lot of butt mud inspires me to sing. Yeah. There's the car.
Absolutely fantastic. That was really fun. Man. That was great. So Mackie told me a tip yesterday
about when you do a high five you look at the person's elbow. Yeah. Just been doing that all
the time now. It works. Ready? Ready? We'll do it again. Boom. Perfect high five. Every time.
Good solid ride. Thirteen and a half miles. Three hours forty. I had a great time keeping up with
the Franklins. Trying my best. They did good. They were easy on me. It was solid. I'm so glad
we made it out here. I'm so glad they made this happen. It was so much fun. We're going to keep
the fun going. We're going to ride again tomorrow. But until then, thanks for watching you guys.
I'll see you on the trail.
