Another trip to London means another trip back to somewhere I used to call home.
In this vlog, I plan to try out a bunch of new places and also visit some old favorites of mine.
I stayed around Kensington, which meant some very cozy neighborhood cafes.
On my first day, I had an early breakfast at a French cafe in the area.
Noop's is a must visit for all chocolate lovers.
Serving hot chocolate based around their carefully curated percentage menu.
It has a range of hot chocolate to suit all tastes.
Japan House is a place I used to like visiting for a quick stop of matcha latte
or when I missed Japan back when I studied here.
On Kensington Church Street, one of my places to visit is Candela Tea Room.
I suggest booking in advance via their website because it tends to get fully booked.
Personally, I think this place serves the best scones,
especially when they've just been heated up.
Walking a little further up the street, you'll pass the stunning Churchill Arms Pub,
which looks so photogenic when the flowers are in full bloom.
Around there, you'll come across Lift Coffee,
a cozy space that's perfect for a morning or afternoon coffee run.
Eventually, as you keep walking further up the street, you'll reach Notting Hill Gate.
Right by the station stands a record store
with a collection of both new and secondhand vinyl for sale.
It's not a visit to Notting Hill without a visit to Portobello Road.
This time, I wasn't here for the market but to visit Zephyr,
a Greek restaurant that serves a vibrant selection of grilled meats,
seafood, breads and spreads.
Be sure to visit their iconic underground bar to end your evening.
Another place I visited around the area was The Pelican,
a long-standing pub on All Saints Road that was transformed to serve modern rustic food.
It's a place I recommend visiting for those that want a British pub experience
with food that's guaranteed to be good.
The chocolate mousse is something I'm still thinking about today.
Heading over to Mayfair, I finally visited Mercato Mayfair,
a place that's been on my list of must-visits for a while.
Previously a church, it is a community market with food and drink stalls,
a grocery shop and a roof terrace.
A short walk away from there stands Bibi,
a modern Indian restaurant serving dishes inspired by ingredients from the Indian subcontinent.
The restaurant has an option of a la carte and two tasting menus for lunch
and a single tasting menu for dinner that is sure to give you a memorable
dining experience with creative and flavourful dishes.
One of my favourite places for coffee in London is Watch House.
I always like buying their coffee beans back to Thailand
and my personal favourite is the salted caramel chocolate tart
that's so indulgent and pairs perfectly with any hot drink.
Hakkasan Mayfair is a family favourite.
Perfect for special occasions, it serves dim sum and modern Cantonese cuisine
with my go-to orders being the tofu dishes, ribs and fried rice.
Moving over to East London, I tried out Crispin,
a place I had saved on my list for a while.
It's a good spot for long lunches over drinks with friends.
Near Brick Lane stands Rough Trade East,
a music store selling a huge collection of vinyl.
Another place I always have to revisit is Ogam,
a Korean tapas bar run by a national champion bartender.
So of course, the Korean liquor-based cocktails here are amazing.
My go-to orders are the sujebi and fried chicken,
as well as their house-made makgeolli to finish everything off.
Over Under is a no-fuss coffee shop serving up specialty coffee.
It's another shop I used to buy coffee from a lot before taking the tube to places.
Bubbla serves vegetarian Middle Eastern sharing plates.
Each dish is vibrant, playful and bursting with flavor,
really taking away the negative stereotypes people may have on vegetarian food.
Located in Soho, Duck Soup is a natural wine bar and restaurant
serving simple European food in a cozy, minimalist space.
A low-key restaurant that's a perfect dinner spot for long conversations and wine.
