Yang Zhan is honest and selfless
Yang Zhan, the father of Yang Bo, a famous minister of the Ming Dynasty, was once a merchant. He used to do business in the Huaiyang area. Once, a salt merchant from Guanzhong entrusted one thousand gold coins to the Yang family without much evidence, asking Yang Zhan to temporarily keep it. However, the salt merchant never returned. Not knowing what to do, Yang Zhan buried the gold coins in a flowerpot, planted flowers on top, and sent someone to Guanzhong to look for the merchant. They eventually found the merchant's home. Sadly, the merchant had passed away, leaving behind only a son.
