Yes, hello Mausi, yes, hello, yes, hello, oh, look, but you are a beautiful girl,
I don't have anything for you, unfortunately. And who are you? So trusting, look.
Madness, after two days of constant rain, it has finally stopped and the roads are dry again.
This morning I passed the Lake Millstätter and over many small curvy passages further
south, you saw these live horses and how much they wanted to test my SW Motec equipment
whether it is really horse bite-resistant. And I think these horses would be just as happy about your
like under this video as I am. For me today it goes on from Austria via the Nassfeld
to Italy, there via the Sella Nevea further in the direction of Slovenia. What I personally have
never driven before is the Mangardstraße, which I definitely want to take under my
wheels and hopefully be able to give you a good look from above. Such a journey as I am doing it
now and also in the next few years, it will always be a challenge for
man and machine. And especially with the latter, I would like to take two things more closely under the
watch. Before I left, I installed a brand new set of Michelin Anarchy Wild.
This is a coarse-stained tire that normally does not last that long with me. Three, three and a half,
a maximum of 4000 kilometers. On this tour now I will pull my throttle very hard to find out
how far I can drive with such a tire, but without completely reluctant to the necessary driving fun
. So I will give gas, but no longer full throttle and maybe
not drive at very high speeds. Because we are already coming to test point number 2,
which is a bit related to it. I would like to know how far I can get with my
fuel tank. I have a 30 liter tank, drive a BMW 1250GS Adventure and how far can I get with it?
And above all, how far does the motorcycle still go when the remaining range drops to 0 kilometers?
I just refueled my motorcycle to the last milliliter, reset all on-board computers
and of course I will tell you in the next episodes about how the
machine performed. But now first of all in the program. Next stop,
Nassfeldpass, the border crossing between Austria and Italy.
because it is already starting to rain again. I didn't go out there to
throw on rain clothes, for example. No, my clothes are waterproof, but you definitely have to
check briefly whether all zippers have really been closed all the way up.
And then I wear an open helmet and underneath I also wear another storm mask,
which simply holds the water better, plus a neck cloth so that no water runs down my neck.
Practical stuff and so I could be out and about in bad weather for days.
Look up here, the road up there, is that really a road? I'm
on a federal road here, but can you drive up there?
Look, you look out of a tunnel there. It almost looks like a railway track.
That's what I like most about such a trip, just to see if there is anything else than the main roads.
And yes, there is. Something is going on here. I want to go in there, into the tunnel.
What kind of wild track is that? Please, please, let me be able to drive in there somehow.
Yes, okay, I understand why everything was so narrow. This is a cycle track.
That must have been the old car track. Wow, look at the waterfall there.
What kind of cool descent is this? Isn't that a good picture?
It's really steep. Oh, I'm going up there again. Oh shit, what did I do now?
Yeah, well, now I have to go up. Let's see if we can do that.
Let's turn on all the lights quickly. I always turn on all the lights for the photo,
so that you don't think I'm always driving like that. And with a little momentum up there,
otherwise there will be nothing now.
Even one right in the middle. So, and now let's look at that again.
Or should we rather not put our luck at risk? Because it looks a lot more blatant from below.
Especially with these mountains in the background, that's a really mega picture.
You have to go a little further down here with the tripod,
rather photograph from bottom to top. Then of course it looks a bit more dramatic.
So, let's try our luck.
So, just gently put off, right? Let's hold on to that.
Slovenia. Slovenia is definitely a country that is not on the radar with many motorcyclists at all.
And there are streets here. I mean, I just got into the country.
Please take a look at what kind of curve is waiting for me here.
And it goes like this all over the country in many places.
You would now drive to the south to the right.
To the left there is a dead end, i.e. a dead end, to Mangard Street.
And that's where I want to go today. I've never been there before, I've heard so much about it.
I'm going to drive along here now.
Ui, up to 22 percent incline or slope.
That's of course intense.
Okay, how does it work here with the Maut now? Is it free today?
Let's take the day of the open door or the day of the open closet, to put it mildly.
Just thankfully towards it.
Right in the middle of nature, this way.
Ui, what a chic tunnel.
So, when I look at the map here, I know what I'm looking forward to now.
Ui, look at that.
Wow, the tunnel, it's mystical.
Madness, this tunnel here, that's crazy.
And maybe I'm lucky and we're not in the clouds at the top.
But I think the probability is really low when I look up there.
Ui, ui, ui, I like the road very much.
And what I like even more is that there is no traffic on the mountain right now.
But still, you can't be sure that there's nothing going on here.
You have to expect that there will be traffic behind every curve that doesn't count on you either.
That's unbelievable.
So I've never really had this road on the radar.
A huge mistake.
That's crazy.
Yeah, I just kind of missed a sign, I don't know.
But everyone said that I asked if they know the route here.
Yes, yes, of course you know.
And just drive past the sign at the top.
Okay, don't do it, don't do it.
Yes, of course, here you can see why you can't drive through with a car.
With a motorcycle, such a restricted driving ban is always valid.
You know that, right?
It's slowly but surely getting dark.
It's after 7 p.m.
I'm on my way from Mangatstraße to the valley again, to the south.
And I don't have an accommodation yet.
I saw on Instagram that Sophie and Luke from Adventurist also have to be here in the corner.
Come on, let's call Luke again.
I'm an hour north of you now, at least that's what my GPS said.
But I'll see, maybe I won't drive that far anymore.
Let's see.
Well, maybe we'll see each other later.
Ciao, ciao.
That was Luke.
And Sophie from Adventurist.
They're not far from here.
And I have to be honest, I love my new intercom.
I never had an intercom system in my helmet.
But now that I can just ride a moped and ask people what's going on, I think that's very nice.
It's 7.30 p.m. now.
I don't have an accommodation yet.
Luke and Sophie from Adventurist.
I just talked to them.
But they're still an hour and a half away from me.
To the south.
They've already checked into their accommodation.
I can't find anything free in the village except this one.
For 27 euros.
That's super cheap, of course.
But that's in a multi-bedroom.
Well, whoever comes too late has a problem.
Breakfast available?
Very good.
Select.
Reserve.
The fact that it started to rain again in the evening was fortunately forgotten the next morning at this view.
The overnight stay in a hostel always has an advantage.
You get to know new people.
Like my roommates Etienne and Cédric.
Two young Frenchmen here for breakfast.
The region around Bovetz along the Sorcerer is known for many sports activities.
Especially wild water rafting.
For me, however, motorcycling is nowhere near the usual routes in the foreground.
Even if this post is unfortunately already over, that doesn't mean it's over for you yet.
Because I have two videos here on the left and right.
Especially for you.
