Highlights: Ajax - Excelsior | Eredivisie 2023/2024

Wednesday evening Eredivisie football John van het Schip has known since last Sunday That the place where Ajax is currently standing fifth place is enough to go directly to Europe The direction of the second round of the Europa League to be exact This all happened because of the victory of the arch-rival in the cup final Feyenoord vs NEC Gots Two men ran past Mika Gots And then he even shot in the corner He is obviously also open the rest of the goal But Taylor won't be coming in Van Gassel therefore steps in for the first time It is necessary in this match The ball fits well from Hato towards Brobby Just need to wait a bit for the connection She arrived but too late for Brobby Sánchez Fernández Good pass is that And then Sandra gets in between But the question is for how long Southalo is back again Sánchez Fernández And there's Boss He can go take it out And Roelie has to provide the rescue That's very true A greater chance than that for Gots And this one for Boss of Excelsior Dijkhuizen hopes to be able to play football That goes quite well in the first quarter Tahirovic Taylor The ball is still in good position and can be shot inside by Rensch And if it then succeeds for the second time for Ajax to break through It's quite accurate Taylor caught the ball It just doesn't seem to be falling properly But if Zagreen can't get a perfect grip He lay at Rensch's feet who still believed in it Remained inside Sánchez Fernández Not past Hato Good luck with Benita Will he be caught there Yes says Van der Eyck So the ball is on the spot It seemed at first that the contact had been made Benita while Bergwijn is still in pursuit He uses his arms on the shoulder And Van der Eyck has no doubt When there is an infraction and Van der Laan assesses it like that maybe it's also worth taking a look It becomes a card And then you can already guess what color it is As mentioned one possibility is that when a player Another player breaks through and in this case makes no attempt to play the ball There was also a reason to give a red card Van der Eyck did not do that here Van der Laan found the red and Van der Eyck goes along with it The penalty kick remains logically The man with the ladder behind the ball Boss It's even The eleven of Excelsior are level with the ten of Ajax The moment so far in this first eleven The moment that also lasted the longest even from afar Because it has very significant consequences for the entire match Ajax in on fire and the penalty is taken The audience is also a bit confused They didn't see Brobby pull his legs or make very clear signals But a reaction towards the coach was visible Brobby is also not very surprised that he is being taken off Immediately on the way to the dressing room towards Bergwijn Taylor's ball is too short and then he almost goes in on Duivenstein who keeps going on the goalkeeper who also was a bit startled by that ball The goalkeeper's mistake which almost went in via Duivenstein Goudbein And there Lamproe then Excelsior takes the lead in Amsterdam Excelsior is leading No storm ahead but playing football like Excelsior watch where the chances are And here was such a chance Outside the reach of Roelly the header by Lamproe The supporters who stand behind Alex Kroes and certainly not behind Michael van Praag as is once again readable on the upper banner today Here's Excelsior Sanchez-Fernandez The ball just goes wide Also the attacker is offside He hadn't counted when he went in Here on the edge and probably with the upper body just over it It's a matter of millimeters Rentsch Ekpom The couple had to go through Rentsch It is now taking another route This was caused by a hensball from Sybel Horemans He gets shown the yellow card for that Of course there are also protests at Ajax that it should then be red Because another good scoring chance for Gots is taken away in that trap Taylor passes the ball to Ekpom Guy latches on makes an ultimate effort to get to the ball first That fails Then comes the next yellow card And he gives everything And he really falls right on top of it Ojojoj This has a very red edge You can't really say that Garda gets off easily Out of the trees Guy That's a good shot It's going into the net The header Ajax has never been this close to a goal in the second half Five minutes to go Is that a signal for more Sosa swings them once more Then there's another attempt But Taylor probably knew he was out of the game That was almost done by Anton Guy For Taylor it just doesn't work out And that brings that expression with it Rens scores during the break in the game Again And there Rens is with the chance And the goal is also scored The entire action of Divine Rens makes a difference for Ajax He barely made it through And in a ten-and-one players game that ball then goes in Ekpom And he will then have this goal on his name But the celebrated man at Ajax is naturally Divine Rens And then Sander van der Eyck whistles for the end of the match And feel the disappointment in everyone Both the Ajax fans and the players of Excelsior
