Hello all you freedom-loving people. Welcome to another episode of Front Page. I'm your host Scott Cameron Goulet. Warren Buffett's stock
suddenly dropped 99%. So what's going on?
President Trump's conviction has triggered a tsunami of public opinion. Former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson was the first foreign
politician to speak out in favor of President Trump. Mark Levin suggested that President Trump should take his case
directly to the Supreme Court, and it seems that President Trump took his advice. While the rest of President Trump's case is still unfolding,
President Biden's son Hunter is in court. This is also the first time in history.
So how will the first son be treated? The law and order in New York is getting more and more chaotic.
Even the police are not safe when they are enforcing the law. Okay, let's get into it.
On Monday, the New York Stock Exchange showed the price of Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway's Class A stock at
$185.10, which is
99.97% below normal. Berkshire closed at
$627,400 on Friday. This is one of the highest priced stocks on the market.
That's because Buffett has never split the stock.
Shares of more than 40 other companies, including Barrick Gold and New Scale Power, also plummeted by about
99%. The New York Stock Exchange quickly indicated that this was due to a technical issue with the price bans that are published by the
CTA, the Consolidated Tape Association.
This is the organization used by major exchanges to jointly provide real-time stock quotes.
Trading was halted in those shares before the issue was resolved, but this raises concerns about market manipulation.
The glitch was quickly resolved and everything was said to have gone back to normal.
There was less than
4,000 recorded trades on that day for Berkshire's A Class shares when trading was halted according to the CTA.
The New York Stock Exchange said that it's reviewing trades that may have been affected and they will consider
cancelling trades caused by this glitch.
President Joe Biden's son, Hunter Biden, went to trial on Monday on suspicion of illegal gun possession.
This is the first time in US history that a child of a sitting president has been put on trial.
Hunter, who is 54, faces three felony charges for purchasing a .38 caliber Colt Cobra revolver in
2018. Hunter lied when he filled out the form for the gun purchase.
He wrote on the federal form that he was not a drug user despite being addicted to cocaine at the time.
DOJ Special Prosecutor David Weiss filed three charges against Hunter for failing to disclose his drug use when he
attempted to purchase the firearm. The three charges are
making a false statement at the time of purchase,
making a false statement regarding information required to be maintained by a licensed dealer in federal firearms, and
possessing a firearm while unlawfully using or addicted to a controlled substance.
Hunter later admitted that he had a heavy drug addiction at the time, even though he denies the charges.
Hunter's trial takes place in Joe Biden's hometown of Wilmington, Delaware.
The trial process began with jury selection.
Hunter appeared at the White House on Friday and traveled to Delaware with his family for the weekend before the trial.
Joe Biden and the first lady Jill spent Sunday night at their home in Wilmington, Delaware.
Jill arrived at the courthouse for Hunter's trial on Monday morning,
which also happened to be her 73rd birthday. As a mother, it was a sad way to spend her birthday.
Hunter's sister, Ashley Biden, also attended Monday's trial.
President Joe Biden issued a public statement on Monday about the criminal trial of his son, Hunter Biden.
He emphasized that he will not get involved legally or politically in the matter,
but he did express his love for his son. He said in a statement,
I am the president, but I'm also a dad. Jill and I love our son and we are so proud of the man he is today.
Joe Biden had previously said that he was proud of Hunter's handling of his addiction,
and he said that Hunter had done nothing wrong.
In Monday's statement, Joe Biden reiterated his praise for his son's strength in his recovery process.
He said Hunter's resilience in the face of adversity and the strength he has brought to his recovery are inspiring to us.
A lot of families have loved ones who have overcome addiction and know what we mean.
On Tuesday, the first day of the testimony in Hunter Biden's federal gun trial,
the prosecution relied on text messages that included pictures of a pipe and other messages about buying drugs.
But Hunter's lawyers are saying these messages were from months after Hunter bought the gun.
So now prosecutors have to prove that Hunter was actually addicted to drugs
on the day when he bought the gun, when he filled out the federal form and swore that he was not addicted to drugs.
Former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has published an article openly commenting on the New York court's ruling against President Trump.
He made it clear that the unjust verdict in the hush money case will make President Trump even stronger.
Boris Johnson's article in the Daily Mail starts off in a very Boris Johnson style.
It says, what? How can anyone survive that?
By all the laws of politics, the Trump campaign should today be a smoking ruin.
The article says that by normal logic,
every time the jury foreman uttered the word guilty in the Manhattan courtroom last Thursday,
he dealt a fatal blow to President Trump's hopes of regaining the White House.
He said,
This was no ordinary political assassination. This was a machine gun mob style hit job on Trump.
Boris described how the far left rejoiced at the results.
He said it was too magnificent.
You could tell by the sheer size of the guilty headlines in the left liberal media,
the breathless awe of the TV reporters, that they viewed this as a truly seismic moment, a once in a generation
political event. But Boris Johnson is convinced that the Democrats will reap what they have sown. He said,
It was nakedly political. It was completely artificial.
The Democrat prosecutors thought they were being so clever, tripping Trump up
over this technicality, like collaring Al Capone for tax evasion.
They probably told themselves. The left liberal lawyers have been immensely foolish.
They have been using the very techniques,
confected legal proceedings that are used by tyrannical governments around the world to keep their opponents tied up and unable to contest elections.
It is one of the oldest tricks in the anti-democratic handbook.
If you can't beat a candidate at the ballot box, get the lawyers on to it and paper him or her with writs.
When we see this happening in Africa or in Russia, we denounce it as
unauthoritarian and corrupt. It's a great pity that this is happening in the United States, the beacon of democracy in the world.
Johnson believes that normal Americans will not be fooled.
He said, The American people have looked at this case and in spite of all the portentous claims
about its historic importance,
they have concluded that it was by and large a load of stunted up old nonsense.
This article concluded by saying,
By pursuing these cases, they have helped to make his victory more likely, not less.
President Trump thanked Boris Johnson for his comments. President Trump posted on Sunday night saying,
Thank you to Boris Johnson.
In a June 2nd post on True Social, President Trump called on the U.S. Supreme Court to quickly intervene in his upcoming sentencing,
scheduled for July 11th. President Trump wrote, the sentencing, for not having done anything wrong, will be
conveniently for the fascists,
four days before the Republican National Convention.
He stated that the court's decision will determine the future of our nation.
His attorney said on June 2nd that they would appeal the conviction.
If they appeal, the case would first go to a higher court in the state of New York.
But Mark Levin, the author and famed TV host, immediately proposed taking the case
directly to the Supreme Court for review after this ruling.
He indicated that the question was how to get rid of the New York state judicial system.
In a post on Ex, Mark Levin wrote, in New York,
you would file the notice of appeal, ask for a stay of the court trial, and seek expedited review.
You need to protect your ability to appeal timely and not abandon it.
You might then file application for common law writs with the U.S. Supreme Court,
where the Supreme Court can take action if it chooses, and legitimately claim the harm is immediate and ongoing,
not just to a presidential candidate, but to the federal electoral system, federal campaign jurisdiction,
reverse federalism,
and the precedent that might otherwise be set and spread throughout the country. The denial of due process
infected every aspect of the case. Many people think that the Supreme Court will not intervene, but Mark Levin
thinks the court has the right to do so. He said the Supreme Court has common law powers, common law writs
judicially created, not statutorily created. It uses very sparingly in extraordinary circumstances to grant relief.
He opined that the matter should not be delayed, and the sooner it was resolved, the better. Levin added,
waiting would compound the problem. The problem now is that every day that goes by,
the actions by the New York lower court bleeds into the federal presidential election system.
But Levin believes that the Supreme Court should intervene.
His post also says, but between Jack Smith criminalizing election challenges to the point that you do not know
what is or is not legal, and now brag and merchant criminalizing events and activities that are not
illegal, to the point we don't now know what they are. The Supreme Court, in my view, must do something.
Levin also mentioned the Bush versus Gore case. And the other lane is to try like hell to get to the Supreme Court.
People say, well, they're not going to take it. You know what?
If George Patton was said,
I don't think I can get to the Battle of the Bulge in time. We would have lost World War II.
I am sick and tired of these legal defeatists.
We need to stop whining, stop complaining. We know what the hell we're up against. It's not news.
It's a fact.
We got to fight these people with our smarts. We have to take some risks.
We need to push the edge of the envelope. I don't mean in a way that that kooks do it.
We need to look at Bush versus Gore. Why did the Supreme Court take that case from the Florida Supreme Court?
We need to look at things like common law writs, which I know the audience don't understand,
but a lot of lawyers do. Not writs of certiorari based on statute, but common law writs based on judicial decisions.
We need to give the Supreme Court the opportunity
to fix this. Why? We cannot have local acting judges,
Soros DAs,
15,000 district attorney's office, God knows how many state judges, destroying our federal election system,
influencing how we elect the President of the United States.
And if we have a pathway to bring it to the Supreme Court, even though it's rarely used, and by God we use it,
we use every legal quiver that we possibly can muster,
rather than sitting around and saying,
well,
it'll take three months. Fine. Follow that. Preserve the state appellate system. And as for this idea,
that I have a faith in the system. Bush versus Gore was a legal case arising
from a dispute over vote counting in the 2000 U.S. presidential election.
In that election, the results of all states except Florida had been released.
Republican presidential candidate George W. Bush Jr. received 246 electoral votes from 29 states, and
Democratic presidential candidate Al Gore received
267 electoral votes from 20 states.
Neither met the 270 vote threshold to be validly elected.
Florida has 25 electoral votes. On the afternoon of November 8th, the Florida ballot count had Bush Jr.
winning
1,784 more votes than Al Gore.
Under Florida law, a recount is required when the difference in the number of votes is less than 0.5%.
After the recount, Bush still had more votes than Gore, but the difference was smaller than in the first count.
However, the recount was conducted by machine,
and there were some votes that the machine could not recognize.
Al Gore
asked for a hand recount of invalid ballots that could not be recognized by the machine and in counties with high
Democratic support.
The Florida District Court granted his request.
However, on December 12th, the U.S. Supreme Court held that the use of different standards to determine valid votes in
different counties
violated the Equal Protection Clause.
So this overturned the Florida District Court's ruling.
It required Florida to use a uniform standard for counting votes throughout the state prior to the December 18th
Electoral College vote. In the end, George W. Bush Jr. took Florida and was elected president,
but Al Gore wasn't charged for challenging the election results.
An illegal immigrant from Venezuela shot two New York Police Department officers in Queens.
Officer Richard Yeruso and Officer Christopher Abreu, who are both 26 years old, were shot while investigating
a robbery pattern.
The officers returned fire and shot the suspect in the ankle. Both officers and the suspect were
hospitalized in stable condition. Mayor Eric Adams and Police Commissioner Edward Caban
spoke with the injured officers and their families at Elmhurst Hospital.
The mayor held up a police vest with a bullet hole saying it saved one officer's life.
Adams called the shooting a senseless act of violence and a total disregard for life.
The man responsible has been identified as Bernardo Castro Mata, a 19-year-old illegal alien from Venezuela.
Mata lived at the migrant shelter in the former Courtyard Marriott Hotel.
This shelter typically costs members of the public around $250 a night.
Hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants have arrived in New York since President Biden took office.
Mayor Adams has repeatedly complained about the situation and warned that the city is at a breaking point.
Yet Adams has never gone so far as to suggest that the Biden administration should secure the border.
Staten Island criminal defense attorney Louis
Galmarino criticized Bragg's prosecutorial decision in New York, noting that the district attorney
has taken a soft approach toward violent crime while ferociously pursuing President Trump.
Galmarino said in Manhattan, you can deal a house full of drugs and
they'll try at best not to prosecute or put you in a program.
You can get arrested for all kinds of crime in Manhattan and they'll try to reduce the sentence.
But Bragg is really cracking down on white-collar crime and we see it every day while street crime, violent crime and drugs are let go.
He's doing it because that's not his constituency.
