The Ostsee Stadion in Rostock is the venue as Germany look to keep up their 100% record
in the first match of a doubleheader against Poland who have lost both matches so far
in the Euro 2025 qualifiers. Eva Pajot is the star for Poland. She top scored in the Bundesliga
this season for Wolfsburg with 18 goals and here she goes with only 30 seconds on the clock
On the attack and there's the opening goal for Poland. Unbelievable. Padilla with the clinical
finish. It's a shot to the system for Germany after great work from Pajot. Into the seventh
minute Germany coming straight back at Germany as Schuller here goes for the curler and it's just
over the bar from the forward. Germany recovering well from falling behind in the opening 30 seconds
as there's some dodgy defending there from Poland. Niskan saved there by Szemik and perhaps a follow
up shot here from Buell and straight into the arms there of Szemik in the Poland goal. Germany
there could have appealed for the handball. Nothing given in the end as the shot came in
from Niskan. Now into the 17th minute a rare counter-attack here from Poland as Pajot is
played in and that's a big stop there from Froms in the German goal denying her Wolfsburg
teammates here. Now the 34th minute as the corner comes in it ends up in the back of the net.
Germany are celebrating but who scored it? It's Buell with the corner and it's a Ziniewicz
own goal. So unlucky for Poland they've defended well against Germany but they go in level due to
that own goal as Germany will go on the hunt for a winner in the second half as they make a triple
change. Straight onto the attack from kickoff as the cutback here is for Sens. One of those
substitutes and it's stabbed just wide from the Bayer Leverkusen player. 49th minute and Germany
driving through midfield again as Schuller takes a touch and then tries to curl one again. This time
it goes just wide. It's been a bit of a frustrating match so far for Lea Schuller.
Now Poland trying to play the ball into the channel here for Pajot. She's all on her own as
she cuts inside, goes for the shot and it's off the bar from Eva Pajot. All her own work and very
very unlucky from the Poland captain. Just over 13 minutes remaining as we see some hesitancy there
from the Poland defence. Lea Schuller is onto it and that's 2-1. She punishes Wosz and Ziniewicz
for their poor defending here. You can see Wosz there just gesturing towards her centre-back
partner but Schuller. It's a calm finish into the corner. Brilliantly past the goalkeeper
Now 84th minute. Another corner for Germany as it's headed back across. It's off the line
and a scrappy one right into the corner for Gwin and 3-1. Finally Germany have the cushion they've
been looking for as Schuller here sees her header come off the line. It falls to Gwin and she
couldn't really miss and the three points surely in the bag now for Germany. Just over three minutes
remaining as Klara Buch sets off on a run. She's been a constant thorn in the side of Poland as
she's brought down there by Brodzik and the penalty is given. It's a stonewaller, no complaints from
Poland. As Gwin steps up here and it's a brilliant penalty into the top corner for 4-1.
As finally the scoreline reflects the German dominance. Poland eventually caved in. The flood
gates opened. It's a big three points for Germany and they will hope for three more on Tuesday
against the same opponents away from home to qualify for Euro 2025 already.
