everyone else is going to decide if you want a loss and we can go from there.
But you know today we got to touch on this.
This is something that I've always criticized Jordan for all right, no
matter how you finesse the numbers no matter how you flip the numbers no
matter how you know, you know, whatever you regardless of what you do with
Jordan's numbers.
The thing is the man had flaws and one of the biggest flaws in this game
offensively was his inability to consistently make the three-point shoot.
Now what some people do is some people will say, you know, well
they didn't shoot a lot of threes in that air
doesn't necessarily matter Jenner in you know, normally you don't shoot
shots.
You can't make all right, you know, if we if we look back on 1985, I think
the average
the league average for three-point shots was about 28%.
That's the league average and you know, so so we know in that era going into
the 90s.
The league was just a poor three-point shooting League.
All right.
So it's so again today.
We just like I said, we just here to expose the cap.
A lot of people say that this man Michael Jordan was an elite three-point
shooter or what they do is they use the what-if situation.
He could have been a great three-point shooter because he would have
practiced it or worked on it and yada yada yada.
No at the end of the day.
He wasn't shot 32% for his career.
Yeah, he had one season where he shot 50% but yeah,
he played 17 games at that.
So he didn't shoot very many when he shot 50% and his best year in the full
season was 42% but again,
did you have statistical anomalies every now and then the facts remain is
that
Michael Jordan consistently on a season in and season out basis, whether it
was the playoffs or regular season was a below average three-point shooter
and that's just what the facts say.
So again, I actually found the video you guys I found the video
and I just wanted you guys to see it, you know, I'm not going to harp on
it too long.
I'm just going to let the video rock out.
I'm going to play it.
We're going to have some PS 5 giveaway details at the end,
but I want you to guys to see it with your own two eyes.
We got Michael Jordan
in the three-point contest.
Now back then they did the three-point contest a little different,
you know now they only have one guy shooting all eyes is on you
back then when he got in the three-point contest.
They had a guy shooting on each end and the two guys were competing against
each other.
So Jordan in this instance was competing against his own teammate
Craig Hodges who we know
was an elite three-point shooter.
So, you know, we already know who's going to win this battle.
I just want to see how bad Jordan got beat and for all those people that say
Jordan could shoot threes.
Well,
Craig Hodges is going to show you he's Craig Hodges is going to give you
a prime example of somebody who can shoot threes and whether you're
shooting in a park
in a backyard in a three-point contest in a game.
If you can shoot threes, you can shoot threes
and that's just you know, so we don't want to make no excuses.
Let's go ahead and get straight to the video again.
This is just a hidden gem that Jordan fans will never show you
they do their best to demonetize this video.
They do their best to hide this video from YouTube.
I've found it.
I'm here to expose it.
We just gonna let the video play Michael Jordan Craig Hodges
in the three-point contest.
Craig Hodges will match up against Michael Jordan.
Remember the top four advanced Craig Hodges
this year shooting 48% from three-point land.
And as we look at both of these compete at the same time,
there's Michael Jordan.
Doug is going to be following Craig Hodges who coached last year in Chicago
and Steve Jones is going to be taking
keeping a close eye on Michael Jordan 60 seconds to shoot.
There are five racks five balls on a rack.
We're underway.
Craig Hodges loves his corner shot.
Usually he really gets off to a good start.
Jordan missed his first shoot and now he's warmed up
and I think, you know, it gives the fact that this is a new competition for him.
Craig Hodges hitting three corners including the two-point ball.
Craig Hodges on a roll now hitting four in a row.
Craig five in a row from the spot.
Craig performed here earlier today for some school kids
and was on fire at that time.
It seems to still be on it right now.
28 seconds remaining.
Well, Jordan is really struggling.
And Craig Hodges takes a great deal of pride in this competition.
He was a finalist last year.
He has 20 points.
Jordan has five points.
Well, Craig Hodges was sensational.
The two spots that he started off with, Steve,
he had eight of his first ten shots.
He buried both red, white, and blue balls.
So he got into a rhythm and Craig Hodges was very much a part of it.
You guys saw it right there, man.
You saw it live and direct, man.
Michael Jordan.
I mean, my whole point in doing this is not to diminish
what Jordan has done in his career, y'all.
Jordan is the GOAT.
Jordan is the greatest player of all time.
All right?
But the only way I have him as my greatest player of all time
with stipulations, and my stipulation is that
you are the GOAT until somebody knocks you off.
And I have to evaluate your game fairly
to give other people a chance to do so.
All right?
I cannot give Jordan additional attributes or skill sets
or what-if scenarios to increase
the reasons why I have him as the GOAT.
Which also makes it harder for other people to catch him.
I cannot make up fake scenarios like that.
All right?
And so one of the most glaring flaws in his game
is the fact that the man struggled at the three-point line.
And this, you know, the three-point contest,
if anybody's ever participated in a three-point contest,
it's like shooting practice shots.
This is, and again, I know it's a little different.
It's not 100% like shooting practice shots.
But for the most part, it is.
Now, a lot of players speak about the challenge
of having to grab the ball off the rack.
But at the end of the day,
we're talking about athletes at the professional level.
You should be able to make more than five threes
in a three-point contest
if you are a guard in the league today.
Or even back then, you should have been able to do it.
Now, one thing we saw about that video,
if you look at Craig Hodges,
this is the difference between elite three-point shooters
and if Jordan looked at the ball
every time he took it off the rack.
Look, I'll go back to it.
I'll go back to it.
I just want to show you guys something real quick.
And again, this is just a shooting tip.
Just a quick shooting tip that I want to give you right here.
And I'm going to show you how Craig Hodges,
this is the difference between elite shooters
and just average three-point shooters.
So I want to pull this up, y'all.
Now, I want you to look.
Watch, Craig Hodges is on this side.
Jordan's on the other side.
Now, I want you guys to pay attention
to how Craig Hodges pulls each ball off the rack
and how he does not take his eye off the rim.
Again, if you want to be a great shooter,
if you want to be a great shooter,
the longer you look at the rim,
the higher percentage you have of making that shot.
Craig Hodges does not take his eyes off the rim.
Now, again, I just want to show you guys this.
And watch what Craig Hodges does
and watch what Jordan does.
Craig Hodges, perfect form.
Eyes never leave the rim.
Eyes are always straight ahead.
He just feels for the ball.
He grabs it off the rack,
brings it straight to his shot pocket,
lets it go, and making it every time.
Jordan, he's turning his head,
looking at the ball every time he shoots.
So what is he doing?
He's statistically lowering the percentage,
lowering his chances of making the shots
every time he looks away from the rim.
Look at all of the best shooters in the NBA.
They stare the rim down.
They stare the rim down while they're dribbling.
They can dribble with their heads up.
All right, and these are things that you have to work on.
These are things that you have to work on.
And again, this is not a knock on Jordan,
but you can, this split screen right here
is a great learning example for a young guy
if you're looking to be an elite shooter.
If you're an undersized guard,
if you're undersized, all right,
and you're looking to play at the high D1 level,
maybe sneak into the NBA,
perfecting small things like this
are going to mean a lot.
Not taking your eyes off the rim,
having a quick release
are going to mean a lot.
Craig Hodges has extremely quick release.
He never takes his eyes off the rim.
High three-point shooter.
And again,
this is what got a guy like Craig Hodges into the NBA.
Not everybody can beat Michael Jordan.
A lot of you guys can beat Craig Hodges
and being able to shoot the ball like Craig Hodges
can get you a D1 scholarship,
can get you into the NBA,
can get you a contract overseas.
Again, it's just about paying attention to the small details.
Look at what the best shooters do.
But then look what Jordan does.
As great as Jordan was,
as great as,
as fundamental as he was on the basketball court,
his fundamentals and mechanics shooting three-pointers
is flawed big time.
Look, and I'll go back
and I'll play it one more time
just to break it down one more time
because Craig Hodges just gave you guys
a beautiful shooting display
that again, I really want you guys to see this.
All right?
We're going to watch Jordan.
We're going to watch Craig Hodges.
Craig Hodges, eyes on the rim,
Jordan looking away every time
and he's missing.
Craig Hodges stays on
and Craig Hodges is making them all.
You guys right there, man.
Look,
these are,
you know, again,
we do this for research purposes only.
Look, this is not to knock Jordan.
You can,
like even in Jordan's failures,
you can find a way to educate yourself.
All right?
This is just about educating yourself
because again,
I know this is not something that 90s fans
are going to be receptive of,
but for you young guys out there that are watching this video,
if you're 15, 16, 17,
and you're in high school,
and you're looking to become a better shooter,
go watch Craig Hodges' videos.
He has a lot of shot tutorials on YouTube.
Go follow them.
Go check him out.
All right?
But trying to shoot like Jordan
and beat like Jordan,
especially from the three-point line,
is not going to get you nowhere.
And just,
we see the small glitches in the mechanics.
That's the reason why Jordan shot 32 cent,
32% from the three-point line for his career.
But again,
I want you guys,
man,
you like the video,
smash the like button,
hit the subscribe,
share the video,
do all that good stuff.
Make sure you join our live chats.
Again,
if you do not agree with this,
if you don't agree with what I'm saying about shooting and shot mechanics,
keeping the ball in your shot pocket,
keeping your eyes on the rim,
come to our live debate.
Let's chop it up in a live debate.
Let me know where I went wrong.
Because again,
this is just to educate you.
All right?
This is all for educational purposes only.
This is research purposes only.
And again,
I've already said this is not going to be receptive
or easy on the eyes
for Jordan fans.
But for you young guys,
it's a learning lesson.
It's a teaching lesson.
And that's all I'm here to do.
Hey,
but it's FYF sports,
man.
It's been another great podcast video.
We grind into 15k.
That's the next small goal.
100k by the end of the year is possible.
Yeah,
100k is possible.
I see it.
All right,
we still got an empty wall right here.
We still got an empty wall.
I need some sponsors,
man.
If you,
if you are,
if you're a musician,
if you,
you know,
if you're an artist,
if you have a business and you want your business back here for part time or full time,
let me know.
We can get it up here.
We can get you a sponsorship for the show.
We got a lot of empty space up here where you can display your business.
All right,
marketing is the new way.
Get yourself out there.
Be a part of it.
And we grow.
So again,
I'm like,
as I've told you in other videos,
do not wait till we get to 100,
200,
300 K to ask for a sponsorship because then I'm going to attack you.
I'd be I'm giving you guys.
I'm giving you guys the opportunity to be a part of something special right now while we growing.
It's like a stock.
You're going to invest in it.
All right,
but this stock is going to grow.
All right,
just think about that.
If you got a business,
if you got anything that you're trying to develop,
hey,
but it's FYF sports,
man.
It's been another great podcast video.
