(Premier League 2023/2024): Highlights Brighton - Arsenal

Arsenal the latest visitors to the Amex with just eight games remaining this season and the race for the title and the European places looking very tight indeed. John Brooks the man in the middle takes the knee along with the players who once again show there is no room for racism. Arsenal get us underway. The last game of the day at the Amex looks like it could be an absolute belter. Arsenal win an early free kick, Havertz buffeted out the way by the ever combative Jan-Paul van Gecken. Interesting setup in the box, Arsenal clearly offside but will then drift back in line, Odegaard makes them wait. Plenty of movement there, Odegaard and the header is wide the goal gaping. Gabriel can't believe he has missed the target from there. Arsenal should be ahead I'm sure if he stayed onside it looked like he did. Cleverly worked by the visitors. Gabriel plants his head to the wrong side of the post. He's on the outside to Odegaard, he's dropped deep and rolled it straight to Gross. Sloppy start from Arsenal. Looking to take full advantage Welbeck turns, here's Moda, he's got a dinger outside him. Moda lets fly and drags it wide finding some of his very best form now, Jakub Moda. The goal, his first in the Premier League would really cap it off. Never had the direction. Better from Jorginho to find White and slip it through for Saka and in the blink of an eye, Arsenal bearing down on goal. Saka, he's pulled it wide that was so, so quick from Arsenal. So direct, he just stayed onside as well the finish at the end of it, lacking again from Arsenal. Usually when Saka has that kind of time and space he buries it, wasn't far away. Saka again, Arsenal starting to clip through the gears drops for Jesus, what a save from Verbruggen. Splendid save, well worked again by the visitors Jesus first time and he sprung to his left, strong hand on that Verbruggen had to be Top it goes, Havertz controls it, he's in the area and he's got bodies forward in support well worked there Jesus, wide again. Arsenal starting to ask serious questions of the Albion defence. Once again, Arsenal wider the mark, breaking crossfield here and Idinga's control is absolutely impeccable and he runs at this Arsenal defence and Idinga lets fly always on the rise but it was threatening. Idinga at the heart of it again, look at that pass from Dunk, absolutely superb. Idinga so direct, Real to the left hand side, Jesus controls, good ball good control, Jesus into the area, he's gone down and penalty is signalled and Hecker is fuming, Lamptey protesting his innocence, John Brooks was decisive and on the mark as he pointed straight to the penalty spot oh he does get a slight touch on the ball, ever so slight, he has got the ball just a slight, slight touch on the ball before he catches Jesus. VAR surprisingly happy with the decision, so Bukayo Saka has the chance to give Arsenal the lead from the spot Saka steps up and sends for Brook in the wrong way, Arsenal lead massive goal for them, massive goal for the title race, bright and furious, Arsenal delirious and he's stepped up full of confidence there, dispatched it with the minimum of fuss and Arsenal hit the front, Mikel Arteta can celebrate, he knows this game is tight and it's decisions and moments like that that swing it in your favour, Arsenal hit the front Mikel X, can't see a clear way through, so it's and Hecker who finds it, he's going to drop to Enciso, Enciso to pull the trigger, pull the trigger he does, Raya tips it away, ingenious from Enciso to engineer the space and he nearly carved out the finish as well, beautifully worked credit to David Raya for springing to his left to pour it away, brilliant effort outside is Havertz, clips it to the back post and Jesus was there, he arrived late, wanted it more and couldn't steer it on target, goes down as a big chance missed by Jesus, it's well worked to Havertz, little pocket of space for the German, Weitz on the overlap, Havertz ignores him here's Erdegaard and Erdegaard forcing Verbruggen into another smart save, it was right at him but had plenty of power, Enciso to the byline, there will be a corner, he calls for more noise watching very carefully as Rose clips it across, drops for Enciso and it's over the bar another Arsenal goal kick, another half chance and this was Dunk, a real wrestling match with Declan Rice, well won back by Mr Pina, Saka's taken a tumble, Arsenal have won it back Saka still down, prodded through, Jorginho of all people forward and in and Havertz stabs it home and Arsenal double their lead, a real sucker punch for the Albion, superbly worked and expertly finished, Saka went down there, Albion looked in control of it but then Enciso gave it away and Jorginho carried on his run, he's onside, drove into the box and Havertz is there they are of, checked it for the offside and to make sure there was no infringement there wasn't and that's the celebration of a man who knows how big a goal that is, could be the long unbeaten run at the Amex coming to an end, down the line Trossard, this spells trouble, Trossard feints infield, Trossard and Pabrukan with another excellent save, Trossard disguised what he was going to do really well here, gliding forward, such smooth movement, such an accurate hit Pabrukan having to scramble, another important save, oh through it goes and this could spell trouble at the end of the game, Trossard races away to make it three and he does so brilliantly against his old club, Leandro Trossard in front of the Arsenal fans, gives them an unassailable three goal lead, brilliant finish, brilliant performance from Arsenal, they are returning to the top of the table
