Beethoven composed his first piano sonata in 1795 and published it in 1796 (Artaria). The Walter fortepiano very popular in Vienna at the time. When 10 year old Carl Czerny visited Beethoven for the first time, he performed on Beethoven's Walter and said that this was "the best piano he ever saw in Vienna". This original of this video's piano was made in 1795, the same year Beethoven composed the sonata.
