For five days we tested the 2010 Yamaha Tenere on some of the most iconic adventure trails in Australia. We also rode 500 kilometres on the black top. But, river crossings, gnarly hills and steep descents are where we are happiest and the Tenere took us there. This is the third in a series of reviews of the Tenere this time focussing on suspension and handling.
Suspension on the Tenere is a road trail compromise with a bias towards road usage.
So jumping erosion mounds at speed will definitely bottom out the suspension
but if you slow down a little it will get you through anything.
Steering on the bike is a perfect balance for road and trail work.
But the real success story of the Tenere is its low centre of gravity
that makes creek crossings and difficult trials manageable.
