A 60-year-old man escaped death by jogging.
Jogging saved my life from being in trouble.
At the age of 60, Tommy Hughes' achievement in jogging
surprised many people.
But compared to that achievement,
it is a story that few people know.
If not jogging,
maybe I would have been lying on the ground.
A 60-year-old man talked.
Let's follow the story of this man
through the next video of 360 run.

Tommy Hughes started jogging in 1981
with the initial goal of increasing the chance of being in the first team
at the local Calix football club,
while trying to lose weight.
Hughes was eventually not in the first team,
but realized that he was destined to run.
He decided to train and participate in the 1982 Belfast Marathon,
the finish line in 3 hours 1 minute 26 seconds.
This result prompted Hughes to want to know
how fast he could run.
In 1983, Hughes improved significantly,
only 2 hours 35 minutes left.
Then the British Derry Marathon in 1984,
in 2 hours 24 minutes.
He broke the 2 hours 20 minutes record for the first time
when defending the Derry Marathon title in 1985.
This race stopped 28 years before returning in 2013.
Hughes once again successfully defended the title at the age of 53
with 2 hours 30 minutes 32 seconds.
In 1988, Hughes competed for the first time abroad
in the Marrakech Marathon Morocco
and won with 2 hours 15 minutes 48 seconds.
He also won the Belfast Marathon and Melbourne Marathon after that.
According to Nate Feldturbine,
the founder of Sportlink,
a unit specializing in advising runners,
Hughes runs more than 160 km every week.
His personality has always been like that.
When you have to do something,
the only way to do it is to give it your all,
Feldturbine wrote.
This is what makes Hughes more and more flexible,
the runs are getting thicker and thicker.
Hughes improved his performance to 2 hours 14 minutes 46 seconds
at the Dublin Marathon in 1991,
but still not enough to hold the 1992 Olympic Games
in Barcelona, Spain.
In January 1992,
he returned to the Marrakech Marathon
with 2 hours 13 minutes 59 seconds,
enough for him to have a shot
in the Allianz Olympic gold medal team.
However, he still continued to sell Hughes.
He continued to increase his physical distance and was injured.
Some doctors say he will miss the Olympics,
but this athlete is still determined
to stand on the starting line in Barcelona.
The run from Marguera to the finish line on Saturday
was 2 hours 32 minutes 55 seconds.
Hughes began to change a lot
after the 1992 Olympics.
After this event,
he began to go out of his way
and look for a drink to relieve himself.
I fell into a really boring state
and got worse and worse.
If I had a break, I would be drunk for 3 months.
He told me again.
But he still managed to find himself
and once again the champion of the Belfast Marathon
at the age of 38.
Hughes gradually had a long time without exercise,
lack of energy
and only on Friday at the Belfast Marathon
in 2008.
Hughes won the Nottingham Marathon
in September 2010
with 2 hours 29 minutes 13 seconds.
A month later,
he finished the Petroboros Half Marathon
in 1 hour 10 minutes 31 seconds.
In 2011,
Hughes moved to Leicester
for 3 years
and seriously trained
at the Leicester Claretanians
He received many impressive results,
but once again, Hughes fell down
looking for a drink,
sometimes drinking a bottle of vodka a day.
The result of those drunken battles
was a very high level of calcium in Hughes' blood.
He used calcium from his bones
and pumped it straight into my blood.
If I did not discover it and treat it urgently,
my bones would be crumpled and broken.
I would not be able to walk again.
The man was worried.
Hughes underwent surgery to remove the calcium.
A few weeks after the surgery,
Hughes returned to running
and his health was getting better.
When asked about the secret to his success,
Hughes said,
I always run to feel.
I do not wear a watch when I run
and always listen to my body.
I only practice a few sit-ups,
standard abs and push-ups
when I lose weight.
I mainly run at 75% effort
and always make sure my body
recovers enough
before the next difficult run.
Hughes said,
many runners, especially those
who have just joined this sport,
often make their bodies tired too often.
He has a short-term coach,
but mainly, he was born in 1960
and trained himself.
Over the years,
Hughes' training schedule has not changed much.
When preparing for a marathon,
he will run 192 km every week.
If there is no competition,
he only runs 96 km.
His daily training is
16 km in the morning and 16 km in the evening.
On Sundays,
he runs 27-34 km.
My weight does not change much
during training and competition.
I eat balanced meals
and drink sugar-free juice.
I do not use additives.
Hughes also has his own style
for running and life.
He always tries his best
and always enjoys running.
Participating in races is wonderful.
I have met many people with the same passion.
Running helps me stay healthy
and create a sense of happiness.
Running is the most important thing
in my life.
Running will teach you one thing,
no matter what path you take,
there is always a way out.
I started running
because of alcohol,
also because of running injuries.
However, this man has returned to running
and achieved remarkable achievements.
