🔴FALLISCE IL TRATTATO PANDEMICO
Niente da fare per l'OMS. Il testo che voleva sottrarre sovranità agli Stati e imponeva un ferreo controllo sull’informazione sanitaria non passa.
The pandemic treaty has failed.
Even before the beginning of the 77th Assembly of the World Health Organization,
which starts today, on May 27, until June 1 in Geneva,
the negotiators were unable to bring home the result.
Switzerland had to arrive with a definitive text in hand,
but the Member States did not agree.
Italy has lined up against, together with the others, the United Kingdom and Russia.
And with great joy I announce to you that the EMS pandemic treaty is dead,
writes Senator Claudio Borghi on X.
The negotiators have officially failed to find an agreement before the EMS Assembly,
and the treaty will therefore not be presented for approval.
After the EMS, a second great victory, concludes Borghi.
The failed agreement would also be the result of the strong internal opposition of the United States.
In recent days, a letter has arrived signed by 24 of the country's 50 governors,
which was added to the previous letters sent by 49 senators and 22 prosecutors
to ask for a draft of the agreement.
Isolated, President Joe Biden seems to have remained the only one in favor of the treaty.
With him, of course, there is Tedros Ghebreyesus, the EMS Director General,
who states,
Where there is a will, there is a way, so I am still positive, despite the result.
There may be setbacks, but we do not call it a failure.
Meanwhile, in parallel, discussions continue on the new international health regulation,
also these seem to be in difficulty.
Defined by the workers, the Trojan horse of the treaty,
for the RSI it is easier to get the freeway.
If, in fact, in the first case a majority of two-thirds was needed for approval,
for the regulations, a simple majority is enough and we proceed in silence.
If the States do not explicitly say no, the text passes.
The risk, in fact, now is to see the objectives of the treaty converge in the regulations.
