Djokovic Makes Geneva Debut; Fritz vs Michelsen; Ruud Begins Campaign | Geneva 2024 Highlights Day 4

Seemed like he made a late decision to play it. Real heaviness on the penultimate forehand. He's pulled that out many a time over the years. He's made that one. Oh, what a chance that was for Halfman. A couple of hours, that first set. No, it's wide. And he finally makes the breakthrough. And it's landed in. The drop shot was very audacious from Halfman. He is back on serve. There was a bit of hesitation on his previous shot. A birthday win for Novak Djokovic. And another milestone for him. 1,100 tour victories. Third player to reach that milestone in the Open Era after Jimmy Connors and Roger Federer. They just keep on coming. These numbers for Novak. Oh, yes. What a rally. It's wide, is it? It was mighty close. Yep. By a coat of paint or two at the most. And that's wide. And it's the set. And there it is. Terrific. It's good defense initially from Fritz. But Mikkelsen won't be denied. Excellent. Well, it's a double fault. A very disappointing way for Mikkelsen to finally relent in this set. Hot shot from Mikkelsen. Oh, brilliant. Great reflexes. Drop shot wasn't good enough. Amazing. Incredible. Amazing. It really is. What a victory for the teenager. Taylor Fritz's racket has gone. And he has left the scene here in Geneva. A landmark victory. Oh, that's brilliant. What a shot. Well played, Sebastian Ochner. What a set of tennis he's produced there. There it is. The inside in finds the mark. Second serve. It's long. And there is the break. Kasparud continues his tremendous consistency in 2024. Extending his tour leading run of 32 victories now. Too good. What an acute angle and what an exchange. Bruising exchange where the balance of power shifted. Lovely. 6-3 sounds routine. It certainly wasn't. Yeah, perfectly executed. That return right on the baseline. Plenty. A rare success with both players shown to be that way. Sebastian Baez with another superb display of resilience initially and then dominance thereafter. He's got him again. Cool as a cucumber up at the net. He had the space. What a brilliant way to save it. It's long. A break to love. Bold second serve. Play being suspended.
