Hi guys, welcome back to my channel. Thank you all for stopping by.
So today in the kitchen we'll be making this delicious
Thress Leaches Mexican Three Milk Cake. Let's get into it.
Okay guys, so let's take a quick look at the ingredients you'll need for this
recipe. Here I have some cake flour but regular all-purpose flour is fine to use
as well. I have some whole milk, eggs, sugar, some baking powder, salt
and almond extract. So to begin we'll start by
combining our dry ingredients. Mix that in and set it aside.
Next you want to combine the eggs, sugar and the almond extract.
Then we'll go in with a hand mixer and mix this until everything is very well
combined and it's light in color. Next you want to add half of the flour
mixture as well as a little milk and then you want to mix it until it's
very well combined. Avoid over mixing the batter.
Once I added the other half of the flour mixture I decided to mix it in by hand
just to avoid over mixing the batter like I said.
Once everything is very well combined this is how it should be looking.
Next we will place this into a greased baking dish.
Today I'll be using a 9 by 13 baking dish. Once the batter is added in there
you want to place this in a 350 degree oven for about 25 to 30 minutes or so.
Once you stick a skewer or a toothpick in the middle and it comes out clean
that's how you know that your cake is done. While the cake is in the oven let's
combine our three milks that we'll be, you know, soaking the
cake with. So here I added a can of evaporated milk
then we will add some heavy whipping cream. If you want to add whole milk you
can do that as well. Half and half is also welcome.
And here you see me adding a can of sweetened condensed milk.
Once the three milks are added you want to mix very well to combine
and set that aside. So this is how the cake is looking once it is done
but you want to make sure you allow this to cool completely
before we move on to the next step. So once your cake is completely cooled you
want to get in there with a fork, a knife, a skewer, whatever you feel like
poking the holes with. Go in and do just that. Make sure you
poke the cake all over so that the milk can seep down in
there and moisten the cake. The cake tastes the
best when it's fully soaked and you know it's it's really moist.
Make sure you get the middle part because that's the hardest part
for the milk to get into. And once you are done you want to go in with that
milk. You could pour all at once or you can do like I am doing and pour
a little at a time. Just make sure that you get the middle
part like I said because as you can see the milk is just settling
at the sides and usually the sides is the best part of the cake because that
gets the most milk. But you just want to make sure that you
soak this cake real well. It will seem like it's a lot of milk
but trust me all will soak in and it will be amazing. Once you are done
you want to cover this with some foil wrap or whatever you want to cover it
with and place it in the fridge for about
four hours or overnight. Once that cake is in the fridge
we'll go ahead and make some whipped cream. So here I've added some heavy
whipping cream, some powdered sugar and a little bit of
vanilla. I will go in with my hand mixer and just mix this until it reaches stiff
peaks. Once you're done this is how your whipped cream
should be looking and you don't want this too sweet.
Some people like their whipped cream super sweet but remember the cake is
already sweet so you don't want to overdo it.
And this is what I'll be decorating my cake with.
I will use some strawberries, blueberries and raspberries.
It's a mixed berry cake so yeah that's what we'll be using. This is
the cake. It has been sitting in the fridge overnight
because I made this late like during the evening time and
I could not you know like cut into the cake right away so I left it overnight.
And here you see me just going over the top with the whipped cream. You just want
to place it on there nice and neatly and
then go in with your fruit, any order that you
like and place it over top. Super simple and that's about it guys.
And here you have it my version of Therese
Leach's Mexican Tree Milk Cake. Now guys when I tell you this was amazing
that's an understatement. It was absolutely
divine. I could not wait to cut into the cake and show y'all what it looks like.
This is what it looks like once I cut into it. It was so
moist and man I can't even find words to describe. But for a little razzle
dazzle and an extra pop of color I added some strawberry syrup and that
made it even more fantastic. I can't wait for y'all to try the
recipe. If you enjoyed the video don't forget to give it a thumbs up. It
